  1. Happy Thanksgiving. LFG!!! I finally swapped out my gasket last weekend and it's holding temperature and smoke MUCH better. I should have done that a long time ago.
  2. We also got this picture earlier this week of a coyote (left) following something (right) next to the feeder. I thought it was just another coyote and maybe it is.
  3. Anybody have any ideas? This is one of my cameras near my house in Scurry County. My wife told me about a year ago that she saw an "ocelot" out in the pasture and I told her she was full of it because we are a long way from where those are in Mexico... but this sure doesn't look like a house cat. But maybe it is? But I have never seen a house cat anywhere near my place. We don't have one and none of the neighbors do either. Maybe it's a bobcat, but that looks like a long tail and it doesn't seem squatty enough. Thinking about sending this to the game warden next week after my brother is done hunting there this weekend.
  4. Yep. From my perspective there was a pure blue sky and then a tiny round cloud just appeared right where the rocket was supposed to be. Could not have been anything else, especially when it started flashing orange. 😁
  5. I was just driving down the highway and completely absolutely by accident saw the one last month all the way out in Hermleigh in West Texas, about 500 miles away from Boca Chica, so I figured I would try to see this one today from my house which is closer. And I did. I was looking out the window towards the south and had the the live broadcast on in the background. Couldn't see anything at first but then as soon as they announced the separation on TV there was a bright flash and a puff of smoke in the clear sky. It flashed a couple of times and then disappeared. It was pretty cool. It was actually pretty high up. Not directly overhead but not that low. This graphic I found on twitter turned out to be pretty accurate. Apparently last month you could see it flying in the sky because it was at dawn and the sky was darker. This one the sun was up so all I could see was the separation which was right in that spot where it was supposed to be.
  6. Just saw the separation happen from my house in Sugar Land. Big bright puff of smoke up in the sky. Pretty cool.
  7. No, not literally when I got here but it wasn’t long. I was watching the football game waiting for the camera to go off. He has been coming every night for two weeks and I knew he would show up eventually. That feeder is only about 150 yards off the back porch so I usually just set up my pig gun on a tripod out there when I am here. Eventually he showed up and I slipped outside and popped him. It’s a heck of a way to hunt pigs, I have to say. LOL
  8. Got here to my house just after dark last night and quickly went inside so as not to spook off the big pig. See pictures above. Couldn't see the yard and didn't care. Woke up this morning to see my front yard looking like this. I only have security cameras on the doors, so no photographic evidence but it happened since the last time I was here in September. I've seen a couple of sounders on my game camera but never seen anything this close to the house. Damn I hate these fuckers. 🤬
  9. He dead. Easily the biggest one I've ever killed. Biigger than the 30 gallon feeder. Might need to get him mounted with those cutters and the pretty colors.
  10. This SOB has about 12 hours left to live. He's taunting me now. What a life.
  11. The protein feeder in my picture of the ASF that a posted above is a TWS. Very high quality and super heavy duty materials.
  12. Cisco is where I cup up on 183 from Rising Star to get on I-20 going west. It's a veritable crossroads!
  13. I have an ASF already at my primary stand at my place. They are the most expensive but definitely the highest quality. There are probably a half dozen or more places along the highway between here and Snyder where I could buy one. I also have an old Buccees one that got beat up pretty good by Beryl this summer. I might be able to rehabilitate that one but it's not all that rugged and I'm worried that these giant pigs will eventually get underneath and tear it up. The feed store in Snyder had some Crossfires when I was in town last month for about the same price as the ASF and seem to be similar quality. Not really sure. I'm leaning towards saying "fuck it" and stopping at J&L in Cisco and getting an ASF and just cry once when I buy it.
  14. Now I'm seriously pissed. He better show up next week after I fix it so I can pop his ass. Although that feeder was already on its last legs so I think a new stand and fill is forthcoming.
  15. Oh cool. I’ve driven through there many times. My brother lives in Childress.
