  1. What the fuck is a Marlin lever action 45ACP? I've never heard of those and I already want one. Tell your dad I'll pay $100 more than whatever you'll pay for it.
  2. Second this. My brother runs our game cams and he received a new one recently under a warranty claim.
  3. Do you have a decent online source for flats of AAs right now? Before I go down the Google rabbit hole... Nope, just email alerts set on ammoseek. For the longest time I said Academy up until last year. 28GA was available for a while and I stocked up. I found some flats of 20GA at SGammo a couple of weeks ago and snapped them all up, too. I need 12GA and 410 terribly.
  4. See, even villagers are impressed by the fightin' Texum aggy band and their pretty shapes.
  5. He owns diabetes, heart disease and a non descript little two Bedroom in one of Katy's older sections. Bama is not listed on his "assets" sheet. Unfortunately, he’s wearing that color shirt because my kid’s jr high is maroon, which means he probably lives somewhere near me in Greatwood. Damn place is crawling with aggy around here. Lots of parents wear aggy gear to the local school games. FWIW, they nicknamed George Ranch High School the “Longhorns” after the fairly prominent herd of longhorns that were kept at the ranch historically. They chose maroon as the color to keep aggy happy. All of the junior highs in LCISD follow suit with the high school nicknames, so my kids all have maroon longhorn gear. FML
  6. I came here to ask the same question about the pearls and I approve of the answer.
  7. This isn't the first time I've heard of this. Artesia isn't all that far from Scurry County. Might need to call some distant New Mexico cousins and go check it out next year.
  8. And the back… OMG 2-8 in ten games, correct?
  9. This is the best part of Leach being at Hail State now. He picked right back up with aggy where he left off and gets to keep doing it every year. He's a good'un when it comes to hating aggy and driving them crazy.
  10. #9 .410's? I admittedly don't go into the store in person all that often but I haven't seen that. 12's and 20's in #7.5 and #8, for sure. But not .410. Buy me some next time. LOL
  11. Had a very successful weekend on the reloading front. I finally found some H110 powder to go with my CCI 209M primers AND also finally found some Federal 209A primers to go with my Accurate 4100 powder. The end result is that by the end of this week I'll have enough components to reload about 12 flats of .410 #9 target loads for ~50 cents per round, which, considering the limited supply of factory ammo right now, would still be a bargain for twice the cost. I literally have been waiting almost 9 months to get the right combination of primers and powders for .410 loads and found both on the same weekend. Now let's hope they actually get delivered. Next up is hoping for AA 12 gauge #9 loads. I found some flats of AA 20 gauge #9 last week for the first time in over a year, so I'm hopeful the 12's are not far behind.
  12. This is a good question. I still don't understand what happened on that play. You're right. What would happen if a punter dropped one on the five yard line and the receiving team ran up and kicked it through the end zone? I don't think a safely touchback would be awarded in that circumstance. I get the whole "momentum from the kick after the muff" rule, but that wasn't what caused it to go into the end zone. It was the fact that he fucking kicked it into the endzone after he muffed it. Had he not kicked it, it would have died before getting to the goal line. If not a safety, then put it back where he first touched it, but a touchback doesn't make sense. EDIT: corrected my brainfart in first paragraph
  13. The other one needs to be relegated to FCS or something. That's just not fair.
  14. I have one and for the price, it's the tits. I also have a 2nd gen PA 10 in 308 and it's great too. Do it.
  15. How much that is? That's the thing about the Benelli. It's close to $3,000, which is more than similar competitor products like the 725 or the 686 (or the SLX). Me personally, I don't see the point of paying extra unless you just love how unusual it looks. To each his own.
  16. Yes, I feel lucky to have been able to put down a deposit and be told, "We fairly confidently expect it in November." The more I researched, the more it was clear that the market is all messed up. I also bought a new Kubota tractor recently. I wanted to buy from the dealer in Abilene, but he was ~10% higher than the dealer in Houston and said he couldn't guarantee when it would be in stock. The Houston dealer had what I wanted in stock and I snapped it up.
  17. Yes, I have one. Only used it a couple of times because it makes the gun more heavy in front and it is a bit of a pain to get it set up and working each time. But I know a few people at the gun club who all use one and they all like it. It's pretty cool being able to see the shot cloud pass by your target.
  18. Yes. Or a 686 SP1 for the same money. The 68x action has been around for 30+ years. You know it's good.
  19. I went in this morning and told the lady I wanted to change the registration and the weight was only 1600#. It's not on the title, so I was surprised when she was able to point out that the GVWR was for 10,000#, which is accurate, therefore I'd have to get it inspected first. I figured my white lie would go unnoticed. I told her to go ahead and just renew the farm tags and for $9.75 that was the end of it. I guess I will drive around with a copy of my Ag card and the tax receipts for both of my properties and just claim to being going to one or the other if I ever get stopped. I have heard varying stories about farm tags - some people say don't ever worry about it and some people say DPS likes to pad their quotas looking for obvious violators going to the deer lease. But maybe that's more for the vehicle itself and not the trailer.
  20. Because I never paid sales tax in the first place? If I sold it, the buyer would have to pay sales tax to get it registered, so my thinking is that they'd want to recapture that money if I re-registered it. Like rollback taxes on real property. I'm probably overthinking it.
  21. They are both pretty light field guns, so they will both kick pretty good. Probably not something you want to shoot hundreds of rounds with all weekend. Both are also pretty new models, so it's hard to say about reliability. Both companies are owned by Beretta, so service is probably pretty good for either, but not Beretta level. Both are also more known for SA's than OU's. If it were me and I had to choose between the two, I'd buy the Franchi and save $1000. Not sure what you are getting for the extra $$$ from Benelli except for the looks. I also think the Franchi is a lot prettier (love that POW stock), but that's personal choice.
  22. I posted this on the Help forum but some of you deer lease guys might know the answer, so crossposting here: Thanks, assholes.
  23. I have an old tandem axle utility trailer that I originally bought new a few years ago for legitimate agricultural use and registered it with farm tags. I'd like to reregister it now for general use so I can take it to the deer lease and avoid getting a dumb ticket. The trailer is titled and I have a copy of the BOS so the proof of ownership paperwork isn't an issue. Recognize that this is all semantics and the primary issue is money. Two questions: 1.) I know the main task is getting right on the sales tax. What is the basis they will use and how will it be calculated? 100% of the original sales price? 2.) The net weight of the trailer is 1600# and that's all that's on the title. The GVWR is actually 10,000# but none of my documents say that. The threshold for inspection is 4,000#. Are they going to make me get it inspected before I can reregister it (unlike farm tags)? Just want to have an idea what to expect so I can minimize the time waiting at the tax office if I can instead of making multiple trips.
  24. That's a bonafide sword fight there!
