I discovered one of my roosters was pretty sick yesterday so I brought him into the barn out of the wind and hopefully heal him up. Got him to drink some water and by the end of the day he had perked enough that I was hopeful he might make it through the night. Mrs CL has her home office set up in the living quarters of the barn. It's heated in there so I put the rooster's crate inside her office for the night.
She leaves for work this morning and I ask her to check on the rooster's condition when she gets there. She texts that he "seems better" and is "perky".
I get there a couple hours later and Mrs CL says, "he seems better but he sure is quiet."
I open the crate and the rooster is dead and cold and stiff as a board.
I ask Mrs CL how she could say he "seemed better" and she responds, "Well, he wasn't making noise like he was uncomfortable so I figured he was better than yesterday."
