  1. I'm going to agree with this. I never thought Heard was just terrible aside from that Iowa State game and in hindsight Charlie just was not a very good coach, which probably had a LOT to do with it. That Cal game was the only "holy shit" game he put up, but he did also beat OU pretty handily during that same year. I was really surprised that Herman didn't give him more of a second chance at QB when he got here considering he was a better runner and athlete than Buchele. Maybe that's the dispositive proof that he wasn't any good, but I always thought the move to receiver was something of a hasty decision given the flashes we had seen before.
  2. 💯 This man needs all the rep in the world for being so correct.
  3. His first body. The one that died 1,000 years ago after the first copper (age) bowl. Not the body he now inhabits due to some voodoo wizardry magic stuff.
  4. Unanswered questions of the universe. Even people from Auburn can't adequately explain why they got a fucking eagle flying over the Tigers playing on the field.
  5. Well yeah, 1982 was his sophomore year at UT. I was in Kindergarten in 1979 which was his senior season in high school and my dad was taking me to HS games then, so I'm not that far off. But I was 5 years old, so maybe I am. My dad had him on his Jr High basketball team in... I guess ~1976 or so? My mom says that he was the biggest 8th grader she had ever seen.
  6. Swoop was terrible, but it was hard to dislike him, especially at the end. Gilbert was def disappointing but I think what he accomplished afterwards shows that it wasn't necessarily his fault. However, his bitch-assed comments over the past couple of years is a point against him. Maybe the fans were hard on him but it's not like they just made it all up.
  7. I lived in Snyder until 3rd grade in 1984. My first Texas game was in Lubbock in 1982 with about half of Snyder there to see Tony Degrate. My dad was a junior high coach and my mom was a junior high English teacher. Both of them had him in school in the mid 70's and he was a local celebrity. I also remember going to Snyder HS football games earlier than that. I presume Tony Degrate was on the field for most of those games, too.
  8. What a goddam clusterfuck of a game this was.
  9. Noticed my tenant’s friendly Brahma bull was limping this week. Tenant came and got him Friday. Bull has an abscess in his foot that they are going to try and treat. They hope he can recover and come back in a couple of months, but there’s no guarantee he won’t end up as hamburger, either. My kids are sad - they liked that guy a lot.
  10. The world would be much less fun without bull calves.
  11. Not really a "funny" thing, but Mrs CL and I had a disagreement last night about something benign - I think our 6th grader's bedtime was part of it. She came into my study looking for a fight, right in the middle of me and my college buddies' annual fantasy football auction draft. I literally told her, "I don't have time to indulge you with a dumb fight right now. This can't be paused and I'm not going to get up from it. You're just going to have to be mad on your own." She stood in the doorway for about 2-3 minutes just grimacing and glaring at me, then stomped off and apparently spent the night in the guest bedroom. I got up this morning and she was fine. She made coffee and was doing the breakfast dishes. I didn't bring it up and she didn't appear to hold a grudge. Just an example of one of the hardest things for most young guys to learn (at least it was hard for me to learn), that women don't need to be coddled and have their ass kissed every single time she's mad. Sometimes acting like you just don't care that she's mad works just fine.
  12. It's not an uncommon sentiment. Scipio and other Texas commentators say often that TEXAS A&M has all of the objective pieces to be a perennial powerhouse. But... you know... aggy gon' aggy.
  13. I'm this close to pulling the trigger on this one. https://youtu.be/N3w-MN-7Nxs
  14. Right. It's not a fait accompli anymore that the entire world needs to shut down and hide whenever the virus is detected. We have learned since March that it's not nearly as dangerous as we thought and we know how to treat it more effectively. Hopefully soon people will start seeing it as the "just another respiratory virus" as it is for most people.
  15. This is terrible. What happens after it “runs rampant”? Is that when they die?
  16. Euro is now on board this morning with the front. #ItsHappening
  17. Not sure why I pictured him resembling the Landry Jones school of redneck OU douche. Instead he vaguely resembles the Blake Griffin school of red-haired OU douche. Either way, still OU douche.
  18. Pulled into my farm yesterday around 7:30 PM and noticed something out of the corner of my eye over in the pasture. Thought it was a stray dog at first but realized quickly it was a lone pig just moseying along. All I had was my .45 ACP car gun under the seat. Took two shots from 40 yards and missed badly both times. I think he was laughing as he trotted to the fence and crawled under and ran back across the road. I hate those fuckers.
