  1. Yep. If you estimate 100 million dollars 5 years. Real cost turns out to be 3 billion 20 years due to litigation and the winds of political power
  2. I haven't read in depth about core design on SMRs yet, but at the end of the day it's just a hot rock that makes water into steam and that steam makes a turbine spin making electricity
  3. You're making it sound like they just drop a SMR in a crate and it's ready to go. It's way more involved than that. I love nuclear power. I just think you're being too optimistic
  4. The PWRs although they were sizes of trash cans I worked on. It was pretty easy to throttle power. You just increased or decreased steam demand by turning a giant wheel
  5. You sound like a sales brochure. Now what about the secondary side?
  6. The why is gonna be there isn't anyone to manufacture the critical parts. The who is because the opposition groups have the playbook to delay and eventually shut it down. The NIMBY folks know once the delays start happening by filing injunction after injunction the investors see this as a money pit and back out. It's a tried and true move. All it takes is one lawyer and a willing environmental group
  7. It's the entire demographic out at burning man right now
  8. If you are taking about the Seadrift SMR. I can tell you it will be DOA before it even breaks ground
  9. Someone FAFO when they refused to let her sit next to her kids. She dropped them all off in the plane
  10. I think it's funny as fuck. 70k people who are rich as fuck going out there in 100k RVs talking about self reliance and not leaving a carbon footprint go out to the desert burning shit are now stranded in the desert
  11. Decided to go to foray into South east asian cooking tonight. Vietnamese pork chops and chicken coconut soup
  12. Game is cancelled. Alabama is going to have a boat race instead.
  13. The one on the left just moved to Austin and is a bartender at twin peaks in round rock
  14. Speaking of titties. This is a picture a friend of mine posted of her and her best friend at the game.
  15. There was videos of the locals handing out supplies and Maui police told them they weren't allowed to because they didn't have permits and it was from up high
  16. So the Chinamen can eat. They get 2 million appearance fee
  17. Pretty disappointed about the embrace the hate thing. I went to check on my order and it was gone. All links to it are dead. Fucking UT cowered down to some idiots.

Me and my navy buddies get together once a year. The wives are cool with it. We used to do destination travel. Now we fly to San Antonio and go to our buddies million dollar house. We sit there and just bullshit. It's one of the most rewarding trips every year. Life is tough. Life sucks sometimes.
  19. New Rhule. Same results
  20. Hmmm, not sure. I don't pay much attention on which direction we head in. I mostly care if we land in one piece.
  21. Flew back into Seattle after 5 days in Houston. Never enjoyed rain so much
  22. I understand the people who cannot evacuate. I also do not understand the people with young children who are unwilling to evacuate. Trying to save your own life when shit goes awry is tough enough. Now try that with a couple of young kids. And then even in the aftermath when there is no electricity and it is just miserable outside.
  23. I think a lot of people understand the pet situation and most times. They even tell you bring your pets. But yeah. I mean most people have like 2 dogs. In rural Florida Suanne may have 19 cats. That may become an issue
