  1. I feel like we are living in a Sim City 2000 game right now and the player is bored so he is just trying to see how fucked up he can get it to be.
  2. The market is pissing me off today. The one stock that I want to see drop (Meta) is holding pretty strong today. That means less RSUs for me
  3. Nah, most helicopter pilots are Chief Warrant officers. It's the army way to get around the rule of having to have a degree to fly a helicopter.
  4. It's good and bad. It allows the pilots to get more flight hours. The bad it costs a shit ton of money. The bad is also the VIPs sometimes demand it.
  5. I mean it was still generous. We just thought it would be a little more generous
  6. You would think that would reflect on our bonus multiple but we was wrong
  7. Does he know surly exists? Maybe get him on a podcast
  8. Build a very very very tall tank
  9. You aren't wrong but you can tell the sentiment around the campus. The ones that know they are performing well aren't too concerned. The ones who have slacked off hope they aren't part of the bottom 5 percent.
  10. That would be annoying as fuck. I think there is a function to disconnect it from Facebook and just allow you to take pictures and listen to your music only
  11. I will say our internal AI tools they let us play with. The LLM has jumped exponentially. The AI went from an infant to an adult pretty damn fast. Even my Meta Ray Bans scare the hell out of me. A friend of mines mom is going blind but she likes to read. You can literally snap a picture of a page out of a book and have it read it back to you
  12. Yeah. I'm on the infra side for AI. It is insane how fast we are moving.
  13. I don't think the job cut thing is a bad thing. There is a lot of bloat and we have a lot of people who just show up to collect a paycheck. I hired on with a person. We were given 6 months to learn how to do our job. I was sent on my own in 3 months. This guy 14 months later is still "learning". No one would be mad if he was trying, but he sits there and watches movies all day
  14. I do. I'm a highly paid janitor.
  15. We just got told in corporate that layoffs are coming
  16. That takes about 10 PSI to get to 20 feet above

    Landman

Insurance settlements aren't taxable. He's getting the full million
  18. Sorry but you are wrong. Marine recruits ain't gonna hit 500 meters with an iron sight. 99 percent of the world isn't hitting 500 meters with a scope. My .308 is sighted to 500 yards and that is incredibly hard
  19. I thought the same thing but watching the replay. He grabs the ball and falls forward. But also there was 5 defenders converging on him and was going to destroy him. The best outcome was for him to go down and take the safety
  20. Do you know coal is at the highest production level it has ever been?
  21. Because that's what the next big "break though" is. Mag 7 stocks account for 35 percent of the value in the S&P 500. If AI fails. Our economy fails.
  22. Google has pretty much ditched their net zero stance and so has the rest.
  23. I work at a data center in Omaha and yeah. We use a ton of energy. The pivot to AI no one forecasted the immense power use. Now everyone is buying land ahead of time and trying to sign long term agreements with the energy provider. It's insane.
  24. You don't get natural circulation on a shutdown reactor. You need pumps. Natural circulation only works at power because of the large Delta T between your hot leg and cold leg. Once you shut down your delta T comes closer and closer until you get to 0 and you no longer have a delta T. Anything with a moderator that is water is going to have a negative coefficient. If the water gets hotter it becomes less dense. Your collisions get much smaller
  25. I lost 30 lbs between October and December. Proof that you can outwork your bad habits. I still drink 4 times a week and eat really shitty. I was working out 5 days a week and running about 25 miles a week. The secret was putting a 25 lb dumbbell in my backpack and walking 25k steps a day.
