  1. Damon Jones(?) Humble I coached him in the early 90's. It's pre-internet, I just did a cursory search and found nothing.
  2. preacher's daughter scenario. Suits went nowhere after expulsion hearing. legalise I know not.
  3. csb/Had a kid cold-cock me once. Dad was a cop, mom police dispatcher. After I refused to back off on charges we went to court. Kid sued everyone from me through school board. It was the last week of school and I was instructed to go home for the remainder. Kid got busted. But man, I clearly remember how I was put out on an island when others' jobs and pocketbooks were at stake. Kid's dead now. Executed in Huntsville. Racist murder.
  4. What they own is much more precious to them than somebody with economic means who can replace things. They've lived a life hiding things from brothers, sisters, cousins and god-knows-who-else has been through their home with a single parent, grandma, foster family, shelter.
  5. I run into this phone scenario often. School policies differ, but confiscating the phone is often the rule. However, I never grab at a kid's phone or touch them. Generally, I will ask them to place it in a location where they can see it at all times but it is out of reach and they can pick it up on their way out of class. Sometimes they cooperate ,sometimes not. These kids are married to their phones and the lower the economic standing of the student the less the chance you will get their phone. That being said, the sub was clearly out of bounds. Subbing is a miserable way to earn a dollar. I wish that all parents would spend a few days being a sub to experience the complete lack of any respect. And not in the honors physics II class at Lake Travis High.
  6. Yes and another Shaka test. Last year we didn't dominate the cupcakes like we thought we would and as a result didn't have the freedom to get an extended look at the bench players.
  7. From texags in Nov. History, trends suggest Aggies may be saving the best for last
  8. Memphis, Tenn. thinks it's a basketball haven. As long as they can cheat. The story is that Hardaway was a booster, not the Memphis coach. True, because at the time he was the coach at Memphis East HS, where Wiseman used Hardaway's $ to land with his move to Memphis. It's just so unsavory and blaming the NCAA is wrong in this scenario.
  9. His teams were fun when they were on but maddening when they couldn't adjust. He had the worst full court press ever, it was like a 3 man weave layup drill for our opponents. There was no confidence going into any competitive game because you never knew which team would show up.
  10. Ha, I lived at that motel during the week during a chapter in my life. I got the daily rate. My experience in BR was miserable. North BR is a shit hole. I did like going downtown at night.
  11. Chuck Woolery destroyed his own career. He was the original host of Wheel of Fortune and left it.
  12. 5 x 8 makes 10 x 7.5 look even more ridiculous
  13. Field of Dreams is a must-do for auto vacations. I thought it would be corny, and it is but it looks live like the picture in your head. There are family ball games going on all over the field. It's just a 10 second piece of Nirvana. Not overly commercial. I'm interested in that MLB game that is going to be played there and logistics.
  14. SIAP, but Rocket Mortgage for using the Big Lebowski song. la la la la la
  15. Does Tony Stewart still live with his parents and have a pet monkey? He was my favorite driver.
  16. Florida players that have speed and are skill position players vs. Nebraska farm boys. This is also why Wisconsin fails over the course of a season and Minnesota is about to follow suit. Michigan is a state with one foot in the grave.Ohio Sate is able to recruit team speed and skill position players from places like, er, uhm, La Grange.
  17. He killed it on cross-examination.
