  1. The refs are blowing these icings before the Calgary player hits that dot...
  2. A smart Nill pickup. Like playoff version Horcoff for the Stars.
  3. I'm confused why the fuck we got a penalty out of that.
  4. Catching the last half of the game. Nice comeback win by the Texas Stars. I watched Dellandria as much as I could. He seems like a smart player and was in the correct position but other than that he didn't stand out to me talent wise but obviously I have a small sample set to work with. I'll see if I can't catch a few more games the rest of the reason to see how he does. Heatherington had a great game winner. Nice hustle play and a great finish on a mini break away.
  5. We were all mystified by Leht's season when Nill first got here. He only went downhill from there.
  6. I'll be at the Texas Stars game tomorrow. I'll keep my eyes out.
  7. Seemed like Monty rolled his lines way more tonight, especially in the first period. Peg had no answer, that was all Dallas for the first two periods. Nuke actually seemed like a better player with more ice time; his passing and decision making was much better. Maybe he can turn that potential into some type of trade bait for Dallas. Ritchie is just a bruiser, perfect for Hitchcock shit hockey. He doesn't have that scoring sense, his decision making is predictable. Bishop was huge tonight. Wish Dickinson could have found the back of the net. For that matter, how did Dallas not put up double digits tonight? That was an insane number of scoring chances in the first period.
  8. I'm hoping zucc is the answer to our abysmal power play.
  9. I think Nuke would struggle to score in beer league, fuck I hate reading his name almost as much as I detest having to read Hanzal's name.
  10. Zuccs also had 2 points in one game thus reinforcing Nuke is terrible. Hanzal was a Hitch request and I hated that pickup for every reason everyone else that was against it hated it for. Big surprise he's still injured. We started off the season with a depleted D core again which fucking sucks because then we have to scramble to replace those bodies with someone that can perform at the same level. Spezza started off the season pretty well. What a difference under Monty vs Hitch (who's shit style of hockey is tired and dated). Looks like age has caught him though as he's faded late in this season. I get angry every time I read Hanzal's name because fuck everything about that. Hitch's obsession with giant players that have limited hockey skills is fucking beyond me.
  11. Now you're just lying. Everyone has been sucking Nill's dick on trades. Getting Seguin, Spezza, Bishop for what we gave up at the time was pretty fucking good. Getting them signed to contracts staggered on their expiration is smart. If we're going to forgive Monty then let's take into account our injuries. Zuccs may be a catalyst for this team but holy fuck has the injury bug bent Dallas over a pommel horse and stuck a 10. I hope he comes back soon.
  12. Nill probably still needs to go. Lacks should have been fired from Cedar Park a long time ago. Development of players has been trash more so than some terrible picks. Good players leave Texas after their ELC is up because they know they will not develop in Cedar Park. Development has killed this team more than drafting has.
  13. Nill didn't set that 2nd power play unit. L'Esperance was an undrafted guy that was tearing it up in the AHL. He's fine for a callup. Nuke is trash we know that. As far as draft picks fuck it we may as well trade them based on what we've drafted with them. This is on the coaching and players. Hopefully the road games will help them get their shit together. They have been fucking terrible at home after starting the season amazing at it.
  14. Dude... the coaching staff and players need to figure that out. Nill is responsible for both of those rosters but holy fuck if these guys are going to coach/play in the NHL they need to figure it the fuck out. That's like blaming Patterson during the Strong era. We knew Patterson was shit and had to go, but we also knew who was putting together a sub par game plan and offense every week. We should decline all power plays because we are absolutely fucking trash on them. Trash.
  15. Was at the game last night. Looked like a good team in spurts. Also looked like a team playing in a back to back. Stars need to find a way to finish on some of those scoring chances.
  16. Oh you noticed that too. I think we're the lowest in the league for power play chances.
  17. Nice fucking game to make it to. Fuck off Avs, go take your 9 overtime losses and get bent. Nice showing by Rads and great showing by Bishop. Wish we could see this every night from this team. Especially how physical they were, haven't seen that in some time.
  18. yup we looked pretty terrible. Benn looked fairly fresh but this team largely seemed uninterested in the game. Huge game on Thursday vs the Avs then the weekend against Chicago. Need those points.
  19. St. Louis rink this shitty they need repairs this early in the game?
  20. I'm just glad we didn't break their losing streak.
  21. This is some beer league level passing tonight.
  22. For the first time in his NHL career, Cogliano will miss a game due to injury.
  23. Does it seem like Nuke plays too high and doesn't bend his legs? I noticed it in the 3rd when he just seemed to get thrown down with one arm. You'd think we have a skating coach that could correct this. Maybe I'm completely wrong.
  24. I'll keep saying it but Hanzal was a damn Hitch request all the way. Hitchcock love giant slow lumbering players. At the beginning of last season Dallas was the tallest and heaviest team in the league on average. Methot keeps getting injured although I don't recall him being constantly injured in Ottawa. I think Dallas has done a terrible job of developing draft picks. I know Lacksdal is pretty unpopular with Texas Stars fans. A lot of players once they finish their ELC have constantly looked to move to other teams as quick as they can. I'm not sure if there is truth to any of this or not, but it sure seems like it. Because we seem to be unable to develop or draft players, we are constantly having to trade away assets for already developed players and we typically have to overpay. A good example is looking back at who Dallas drafted and where they are now several years ago. Benn, Neal, Eriksson, Smith; when you draft and develop guys they end up being your 1 and 2 liners. We've taken a nose dive in this department recently. An interesting book everyone may want to read is Stat Shot. It goes over all the stats that people use to look at teams and players and really provided some new insight for me when looking at stats and watching games.
