  1. The key is him not committing now. The longer Perkins plays out the better. Right now aggy has momentum. But like the sun rising, aggy rollercoaster is constant (bizarre covid year doesn't count).
  2. I don't think you are doing what you think you're doing. It was a bad take, people have explained why, you keep arguing the point without anything new. Carrington was working for UT, paid by UT, not tweeting at recruits(which is his job), posturing with an enemy of the program (mccoy) in a different city while still being paid by UT. Appreciate what he did under Herman but he's not part of the program and not our concern any more
  3. It's probably related to food? Does Weigman's family own a Pluckers franchise? Are they moving their location to college station? Would Ketch then cover Aggy football?
  4. Eman naghavi. OC at ULM. Former OL coach. Don't see that he was fired so seems strange
  5. @Nice Guy Eddiejoined using your link, appreciate the initial post. interested in joining the pool.
  6. The fees on coinbase pro (not coinbase regular) are pretty low and it's a pretty safe platform.
  7. How are our local writers so stupid? I mean, I didn't know who this was until yesterday but still knew he wasn't a tight end
  8. I hear Mike Stoops is available
  9. What the fuck....I make the mistake of going to sleep and we hire this fuck?! Indefensible. Beyond the name, which is bad enough, this guy isn't even a good coach or recruiter. Seriously fucked up. That's a lot of good will and support gone. Sark better be right.
  10. I put in some in atom and eos before link but got out of eos after they lost a principal. Hard to know how the alts will do. Maybe some of the more knowledgeable folks can chime in?
  11. I think we've got a pretty good recruiting staff with a rainmaker in banks (and sark for that matter), plus recruiters in drayton, joseph, davis, flood, and a probable plus recruiter in gideon. Really only coleman and kwiak are considered average recruiters. and to be honest, having a weaponized Texas that wins will likely make anyone look good. I can't really complain with any of Sark's moves so far and Coach K has imo a better chance at success then everyone's favorite, Coach Boom, who while elite, hasn't coached significantly at the coordinator level in a decade and hasn't really faced the diversity of defense that Coach K has. The success against a variety of offenses, including complete mastery of leach's teams, is impressive. In addition, Coach K seems like a guy that might be happy being a Bud Foster type, getting paid a great deal to coordinate great defenses and not looking to jump at the first opportunity. I'm good with Gregory or whoever else he needs to implement his defense. I'm not going to say no to an elite recruiting assistant but I think making sure the defense is well taught is the most important aspect of this next hire. We'll be able to get the talent. The pickup of Thornton seems almost tailor made for this defense.
  12. Link is the only alt I'm putting significant money into this time. 2017 I spread out some other 4-5 alts. None performed as well as my "safe" investments in eth/btc.
  13. Nice find. It's almost like a coordinated recruiting pitch. Will be nice to cherry pick 3-4 top 10 california players every year.
  14. I mean, Shawn Watson is the DC pick if you want to look at things like yards allowed and points allowed. I remember he was the coordinator that held Texas to 59 yards in a bowl game.
  15. I think it's baffling to anyone that has been in any leadership or sales type position. There's being arrogant and believing in yourself (trusting your evaluations over everyone else) and then there's the shit that is so low effort its hard to fathom (shooting the shit and not being an asshole to former players, donors, high school coaches, making people feel like they win when texas wins, treating players well in general). I mean, I'm not that smart and I know this shit. How did Herman not get this? How does anyone who didn't get their job through nepotism not get this?
  16. I think Dennis was listed as the lead recruiter and as the qb coach, would definitely be a key figure in any qb's recruitment, though less so with Day being the HC. Either way, there are some inherent advantages that just need to play out. If the staff fills out anywhere close to rumored and he sees an opportunity to achieve both dreams (playing for childhood team and good path to nfl), we probably win out.

    Blake Gideon

Welcome home coach! Yeah, he dropped an int and it sucked. He's a great young coach who sounds like he'll improve our special teams and hopefully coach up the safeties. I would kill for Texas to be relevant enough again that 1-2 plays could keep us from a championship, instead of fucking going into ten overtimes to beat a shitty tech team or getting our shit pushed in by tcu and every other shitty program in this conference where only ou should compete against us. Gideon was smart enough to start 4 years on some great teams despite some clear physical limitations. He's done great at his coaching stops since then and is well thought of by the coaches he's worked with and against. If he's the worst guy on the defensive side, we'll win a lot of games.
  18. Wow. I am so incredibly thankful for everything Ehlinger has done for this program. He's been a fantastic representative of the university and he's going to be incredibly successful in life, whether it's catching on in the nfl, coaching or anything outside of football. Thank you Sam!
  19. Dropped my ballot at Fairfax county center 3rd day that ballots were open in Virgina.... Same place idiot pro-trump people were blocking access on the first day. Short line, took 5 minutes. First time I didn't even bother looking at candidates and voted straight democratic (I was a left leaning independent before Trump)
  20. Basically, all these imaging findings are things we see with heart attacks and other reversible and irreversible sequelae of cardiac damage. We are very focused on mortality (people dying) but largely ignoring morbidity (serious illness). That makes sense since the horror of what is occurring is hard to fathom but I think we'll see a lot of chronic illness and disease in covid survivors (no hard data, just my own conjecture based on observations taking care of these patients). I see lung inflammation similiar to what I'd see in autoimmune and inflammatory processes in the lungs of "asymptomatic" young patients. My guess is they have a functional reserve which isn't exceeded and therefore feel "fine". It's akin to smoking. You don't really have problems with COPD and emphysema due to destruction of your lung until you've had a few years of exposure (generally, not including more acute episodes). We've had reports of young patients (under 20) with arrythmias (funny heartbeats) after full recovery. We've had neuropsychiatric issues with corresponding abnormal brain MRIs in young patients. In fact, one of the big issues is strokes in patients who are in their 20s. I worry about our children and long term effects of infection as well as even those patients who have recovered to date. We are making big, long term decisions with a minimal amount of data, a lot of wishful forecasting, and a fucking incompetent and disingenous leader who even now, can't find a tiny bit of decency and try to do the right thing and at least get out of the way of the people who should be leading our response.
  21. Foreign medical grad... Which doesn't mean bad.... However, our best American trained grads don't become hospitalists for multiple reasons... And hospitalists are who take care of you when you aren't in the ICU. They have a large checklist of tasks they have to get done with a large number of patients that they don't know well. And often their fountain of knowledge is not as deep as it needs to be for a challenging task. In academic hospitals, fucking new guy is another fear this time of year! You don't want a new intern intubating you solo because the senior residents/attendings are overwhelmed.
  22. The reality is we've moved more and more inpatient care to hospitalists, who are often overworked, underpaid relative to their workload and generally draw from a higher fmg base. The ICU folks and subspecialists typically carry the burden and keep sicker patients alive and catch mistakes, which happen because 1) people are human and 2) those doctors taking care of your average patient are not the best and brightest (imo). When you add something like covid, which is both not fully understood but also explosive in the number of cases that can arise, it stresses the system. Add to that the scarcity of ICU beds (doesn't make economic sense to carry very expensive resources without being as close to capacity as possible), a non unified, often bizarre federal response that places politicians over scientists and physicians, and a public that has enough idiots that confuse mask use and public health initiatives with political issues like abortion, gun control, and taxes and you end with a brutal, embarrassing situation. Our hospital has about a 3% antibody reactivity rate after almost 2000 hfw have been tested, including ICU and er staff... And there was some serious lack of ppe and ignorance about precautions early on. It means that it's fucking embarrassing that the greatest country in the world can't get their collective heads out of their asses enough despite a large enough heads-up from Italy and China (who btw are now relatively fine) and more medical resources then most other countries. This isn't that hard. Wear a mask, physically distance and use some common sense. Keep doing that and open the economy carefully while contact tracing and locally shutting down as needed until a vaccine is made. Use said vaccine. Move on. So yeah, it's not surprising that as the workload exceeds our capacities, more mistakes aren't caught and more people die unnecessarily. It's not gross incompetance. It's just people dealing with a disease that they don't understand fully, under personal risk that clouds thinking further and at numbers that overwhelm. The only gross incompetance is watching a failed businessman ignore the recommendations of any competent person and waging a war against reason and science.
