  1. Cool biology lesson. What do you think you've contributed to the conversation here?
  2. Of course it would help the Democrats, for the 4-6 years it took until it got abolished. Agree or disagree: Democrats are stupid and will always find a way to lose eventually
  3. That doesn't have anything to do with anything. Eating habits are developed in your formative years. Unhealthy school lunches promote bad eating habits. This is all accepted and boxed-up science that you're trying to distract and obfuscate away from. LOL at ya'll suddenly slinking away from the "healthy eating habits are important!!" thing you won't ever shut up about when confronted with the fact that the guy you voted for destroyed regulations meant to teach kids better eating habits and combat obesity. You can't have it both ways.
  4. LOL. HR1 = Democratic supermajority forever, in the land of unicorns and rainbows and cotton candy!
  5. The Republicans just had four years worth of opportunity to overturn the filibuster and didn't. "Why don't people think that this doomsday scenario that has literally never happened despite hundreds of opportunities is inevitable?!?! Idiots!!"
  6. Win the battle of public perception and either get a supermajority or make it so popular that the GOP has to vote for it or commit political suicide. Same as it always was.
  7. Sure they are. They consist of close to half of their daily calories. It's also habit-forming.
  8. Because it's shown time and time again that progressives lose in centrist states, despite your wishcasting. Does it always have to be that way? No. Can the DNC get better at messaging and change that? Sure. But right now, reality is that far-left candidates don't win in purple states. If you make Sinema persona non grata to the D base, one of two things will happen: - She will get primaried from left, handing the seat to the Republicans - She will win the primary but still be too damaged to beat the R candidate I understand what HR1 is. I also understand that as soon as the Rs control the government again it will be overturned instantaneously because the filibuster is gone. The goal is to find a way to get lasting legislation, not something that will be around for a few years until Rs own the government again.
  9. Remember when Trump overturned efforts to put better and healthier foods in schools and all of you guys screamed from the rooftops about how important health and BMI are? I don't either.
  10. "Not handing the Republicans two future senate seats on a silver platter is the promotion of white supremacy" wut
  11. That's a pretty simplistic and silly metric though. Because if a white person does the above, they'll end up middle class at worst, which is a huge leap above "not eating shit out of a dumpster". And I can personally attest that white people can fuck up the checklist above completely and still end up affluent. Minorities rarely get that privilege.

I see that we're switching tracks from the "Libtards all love and support crooks if they're Democrats!!" tack that was proven wrong to "We found one Democrat who did some questionable stuff and still holds office, which makes the fact that our party is saturated with criminals, racists, and literal crazy people perfectly OK!"
  13. I think they would. Not "better" technically, but more entertaining and people would be more invested. The NBA is a stars league. It always has been. Having stars whom we are familiar with and where there are storylines is far more engaging than watching three guys who might or might not even be in the league in two years. The dunk contest pits all stars against each other and elevates existing stars to legends. None of that happens when the participants are two-way players who never get meaningful minutes. I wasn't one that said the dunks weren't impressive. There were some great dunks. Possibly better than the best dunkers in the ASG could have done. But the NBA has never been about the technical aspects of the sport.
  14. This and the Nate Robinson year are the only two that I could remember a single moment from in a decade or so.
  15. Team LeBron was up so much they knew it'd be unrealistic to do the typical "fuck around and let the score tighten up some" that teams do at the end. They just wanted to end it fast.
  16. Yep. Once again a no show in a big moment
  17. Agreed on the dunk contest. Lame. It really starts and ends with the problem of nobody knowing who the hell the participants are. There were some other problems tonight but really they've sucked for a decade or so with a couple of random exceptions. They need to find a way to incentivize the superstars to participate in it, even if it's just straight throwing cash at the winner. I want to see Giannis and LeBron throwing big thunder down not three G league rookies.
  18. Virgin Durant once again dominated by LeChad. How did KD not draft Steph #1 knowing that he never wins anything without him? Bad strategy.
  19. Petition to retitle this thread to the "Texas Basketball and the NBA All Star Game are on and I'm watching Oprah thread of shame" Dudes watching Oprah. Welcome to Joe Biden's America!
  20. Listening to black people is low character. [emoji23][emoji23] Some embarrassing motherfuckers on this board.
  21. Why is the dunk contest only 3 guys?
