  1. @MNLonghornFUKM this is a "wait and see" for me. Smoke for sure, but can't tell if there's a fire yet. Looks sketchy, but I can only find one article about it so far. Withholding judgement.
  2. I've rarely gone to the CR since the election. But I'll check it out and police as needed. [emoji599][emoji599][emoji599][emoji599]
  3. Oh no. I've been Anastasis'd once. Not going down that rabbit hole again. You'll have to find one of the few people that hasn't learned their lesson if you want to drag someone into your sewer today.
  4. Quite the opposite. I managed to go that entire time without needing to come on the internet and cry about day care not reopening until they felt comfortable with it. Being a man and handling tough times without complaining or needing to constantly blame and lash out is not for everyone though.
  5. I actually saw two Republicans on my Facebook feed condemn Cruz for it. I threw them a kudos for being consistent.
  6. I mean I'm not expecting any of the aforementioned Triggered Five to react to my post positively. You guys can figure out who you are. It's not difficult. The disdain for the teachers is disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourselves if you haven't forgotten what shame is.
  7. I mean I get it, I had a toddler at home for 5 months. The lengths I went to to keep him entertained while I worked were pretty extreme. I never did find a small human-sized hamster wheel.
  8. Wrapped with bibs. One busted on an exterior wall. Three others ok, two were in the garage which I was keeping warm with a heater, and one on master bedroom wall which we kept warm because the baby sleeps in there.
  9. Dumb. This entire thread has turned into the same 5 posters crying because their state subsidized babysitters won't watch their children for them fast enough for their liking. It's an awful circle jerk of emotional crybabies who are angry about the hardship of being forced to be around their children for extended periods of time. We should just rename the thread to "a bunch of whiny chumps complaining about liberal teachers" because there is zero useful information or discussion about Covid here. The minute said group of 5 posters confirmed that they're offended by moving teachers to the essential workers group but still demand that the teachers put themselves in a building with thousands of other people was the minute it became obvious that this is purely a partisan issue for you and them. Education = liberals and liberals are bad. Pathetic childish stupidity.
  10. I'm on record many times on this board stating that there's a lot of irresponsible journalism. I've called it out frequently on #bothsides. But I also don't turn around and post idiotic clickbait tweets and fake news. Because I'm not a hypocrite. The poster in question has posted blatant hyper partisan fake news multiple times and run away when called on it. He also constantly posts dumb clickbait nonsense meant to trigger the outrage-addicted male Karens of the world. It's pitiful. He's the whiniest little bitch on this entire board.
  11. If someone spent an entire year crying about how disingenuous and harmful the media is then constantly spammed this thread with clickbait outrage-trap tweets highlighting things like what one dumbass irrelevant principal in some city thinks about Covid, what would that make them? A hypocrite? Intellectually dishonest? Partisan hack? A giant whiny blubbering vagina? Asking for a friend.
  12. We're going to get no data for all of last week then a big dump that won't tell us anything. It'll take two weeks for us to understand what snowpalooza 2021 did to Covid rates. But I'll bet anyone money that we're way down from a week ago in two weeks. Only question is how far.
  13. Can confirm Butter's [emoji108]. Brisket wise their business name checks out.
  14. Any thoughts on Butter's vs. Smoliks in Mathis? Family trip to go see a relative in Alice, was going to swing through and get one or the other.
  15. Not a single one of those neighbors had a busted pipe. Sweatergawd.
  16. I'm team cut the water always now. After my burst pipe (wrapped), I cut it off the last 2 nights and slept much better. I feel dumb for not having done this way all along. It's so easy. I don't even have to go to the street, the cutoff is in my garage. Why did I ever consider any other option?
  17. Isn't this the damn truth. In mid February of last year, before Covid really went mainstream here in the states, I went to Walmart and got two huge hand sanitizers, some masks, a bunch of meat for the freezer, bottled water and some canned goods including evaporated milk. I figured it would sit in the closet until it went bad. Felt dumb unpacking it from the car. Between Covid and last week, save the water and a few cans, we used every bit of it. The meat and sanitizer during the grocery store shortages, masks early Covid, and evaporated milk this week for the toddler. I do have a shitload of cold and flu that we'll probably never use which will be the only waste. I'll never again feel weird about emergency planning as long as I'm not reaching doomsday prepper levels.
  18. Yep. And at risk of beating a dead horse, they should also publish severe Covid numbers from that study. I suspect they had near zero in the one dose group.
  19. That's still pretty strong. And that's a pretty rudimentary study. They needed to control or attempt to adjust for Covid prevalence at the time of the before and after parts of the studies. Sounds like they didn't at all: "But she also noted that the Sheba study took place during a surge in COVID-19 infections in Israel, which flooded hospitals with new cases." So if they compared infection incidence in the last month or so (mid-spike) to pre-vaccine (less community spread), then it's going to be underselling efficacy. All good news IMO.
  20. Nope. There were some gluten free ones in frozen but I'm not paying five bucks for eight tortillas. This is America.
  21. Bread, , milk, eggs not even once. Store was decently stocked in the middle aisles. Meat in low supply but seemed available. Produce somewhat torn apart, no bananas or potatos. My pork butt sandwiches are going on those premade frozen dough ball rolls you buy in the freezer section. Shrug.
  22. My MIL and SIL are threatening to come over this weekend with three children (an adolescent and two toddlers). I have no idea what I'd feed them. We're just pantry raiding right now eating random stuff. I have a pork butt in the freezer and some charcoal but no bread sides or fixings. Has anyone gone out for groceries? Is it just a complete shit show? If I could just round up tortillas, cheese, bread, and a couple cans of beans I'd probably be good. The Meximarts and Dollar General served me well early on in Covidworld, so might try those.
  23. That's what I used too. Strong junk food recipe, would smash again.
