  1. Yeah, it's pretty stupid to throw the "idiot" label on people who supported hiring the consensus best coach available on two out of the three occasions (Urban and mensa). This thread is masturbatory as hell. "You didn't dump me, I dumped you!"
  2. My freezeproof setup is hillbilly as hell. I've got two spigots outside that come up from the ground with one or two feet of exposed pipe. One has a halogen shop light pointed at it, with an easy up over the whole setup to keep water out. The other one has an upside down ice chest over it with an incandescent cage light inside. Our well house has a little ceramic heater inside running on low. Sometimes you gotta get creative and a little redneck.
  3. I'm timing my vaccination so that my second shot plus one week is right before March Madness. I'll be at the bar and I hope it's packed and loud. I'm sick of Covid. I'll follow the rules still, wear mask to HEB etc. Otherwise I'm living like it's 2019 once vaxxed. If not what's the damn point of getting the shot?
  4. I left Austin because it's not for me anymore. It's full of transplants and Californians, it's become pretentious, and it has lots of other issues. But "circling the drain" it is most definitely not. It's one of the most thriving cities in the country.
  5. Sixth fastest growing large city in the US, businesses coming to the city in droves, property values skyrocketing, staggeringly low unemployment. "Circling the drain". But if your little fantasy makes you happy, that's all that matters.
  6. I haven't been watching much outside of my own team this year due to real life getting in the way. Was the Heat slump purely a matter of Jimmy being out? Looks like they've turned it on since his return.
  7. @DenverHorn this was fun. When's the British Open?
  8. Honestly MTG is too good for this guy. All she did was incite treason and this guy here has plates all over the ground and shit. Not a single one reracked. Special place in hell. Sweet shorts though
  9. I don't think many people will be assessing anything because most of the people reading this thread already have you on ignore. Enjoy your reps from Cheeseweasel and Incredulity though. You are the company you keep.
  10. I sometimes wonder who in your very close orbit is so incredibly gullible that you've been conditioned to believe that the bullshit that comes out of your mouth will work on anybody with a semi-working brain. There are like 3 guys on this board who you could turn their name into a verb describing a particular style of ruining a thread and everyone would know exactly what you mean. You are one of them. At least Derka and slorch actually have the self-awareness to realize it.
  11. That's all fair and I completely agree with you. The problem with your analogy is that the little guy with the product ends up trying to win a system rigged in favor of corporations and the rich and the majority of the time gives his product to the big guy in exchange for a slightly less small piece of land while the big guy uses the product to get exponentially more land. I'm fine with competition and capitalism when it's a level playing field. But what we have today is a deck stacked in favor of the oligarchs who have bought and paid for our government (yes, on #BothSides). What we have is less of a free market and more of an oligarch and corporatist state. The rich want you to focus on the socialist and BLM boogey men so that you don't wise up to that fact.
  12. Same, nothing I say to you is meant to be taken with hard feelings. "First flaw would be if someone was rich why couldn't they just buy up all the land?" Interesting sentence. Have you ever looked at one of those videos that shows the true magnitude of wealth inequality? Like do you fully conceptualize the gulf between someone who is worth hundreds of billions of dollars and someone worth what you or I are? Because your sentence is basically where we're at. The top half-percent or so of our country own almost all of the wealth and resources, the majority of which they can never use in hundreds of lifetimes, while people can't afford to feed their children. It's like you're able to recognize that the above is hugely flawed, but you haven't come to terms with the fact that it's not some theoretical like you talk about it as. It's where we are. But anyway yeah, this is for another thread.
  13. Naw. 2001 - Iverson's MVP year and one of Kidd's best seasons League Average eFG%: 47.7% Iverson: 44.7% (-3.0%) Kidd: 44.3% (-3.4%) 2021 - LaMelo's rookie year League: 53.5% LaMelo Ball: 51.1% (-2.4%) Those two guys were below average shooters for their entire career.
  14. If workswithweed keeps talking he's going to eventually start explaining to us why the world shouldn't have oligarchs and billionaires. He actually sees the issue with the rich people owning everything and creating a permanent underclass with a gutted middle class. Soon he'll realize that has already happened. Keep going wws!
  15. I think it's nice that for them they have a safe space away from the Cloak Room where they can talk politics without having to defend their hot takes or source their claims. It's sort of like Surlyhorns' version of Parler.
  16. Yeah, I don't really either, I'm just throwing a counterpoint out there. I haven't actually seen him play at all this year. Barely had time to watch most of the Spurs games and maybe 5 other random games this season. And I don't like the Balls like your mom does, so I'm not really going to go hard defending any of those guys. But you can definitely carve out a good-to-great career as a PG if you do everything else really well. There are a lot of those guys throughout history. Sam Cassell is another one that comes to mind that never really developed a reliable shot. Hell, his FG% this year is higher than Iverson's career FG%.
  17. They said this about Jason Kidd right up until he waltzed into the hall of fame.
  18. Yeah, I mean this is totally fair. If he wins a title with the Nets, there's not going to be a lot of room to talk shit. He won't though.
  19. Braiwashed = the fact that you are completely oblivious to the fact that you have more in common, by orders of magnitude, with a Mexican immigrant or a poor black family than you do with the rich white men that you are a pawn for. The rich white men that you worship literally would not shake your hand if you offered yours to them in passing. Their security would handle you. And I'm not trying to be a dick by calling you poor - we're talking relatively speaking here. The above statement would be true for me in almost every situation outside of my business as well.
  20. Is there a better example of how the rich have brainwashed poor whites into thinking they're on the same team than workswithweed?
  21. J&J has promised 100 million by end of June. Even if that's extremely backloaded as they ramp production up, we're still talking 50-60mm by end of May which is about 20% of the adult population on J&J alone.
  22. Yes or no. Have you shown any source or link or proof of this statement? "They are probably one of the safest non-household indoor spaces in the country when these basic precautions are followed"
