  1. Yeah, I was referencing Amazon's lowest paid workers. y The "minimum wage" thing was a passing comment. My point was pretty straightforward and obviously the heart of the point was that people are fucking pissing in bottles because they aren't allowed breaks. Dude just latched on to the minimum wage thing because he's on the wrong side of a stupid argument but doesn't want to admit it. My wife does the same thing so it's nothing I'm not used to.
  2. Yep. Agree with this fully. I don't agree with others that the policy is strictly race based. I do think they're awfully proud of themselves about it. But to your point, it'd have been better just to do it by zip code. Or just decreasing by age groups, which probably would be more impactful. Black/Hispanic ethnicities have 4x the death rate of whites, where even 50 year olds have 30x the death rate of younger folks. In hindsight, it should have just been decreasing by age group all across the country. Keep it simple, stupid.
  3. Maybe, but I'm using math and you're using emotion.
  4. That's the point. And the city's. Think. Again, I think the process is stupid. But not because it's racist. Mathematically, the city is doing the right thing. It's just that logistically they aren't, as they've pulled an Austin and overcomplicated it to their own detriment.
  5. Yeah I'm not going to get into what you saw anecdotally, I'm just talking about the flowchart that prioritizes above 65, 50+ with medical conditions, or <50 with conditions and in a "community disproportionately impacted" by Covid. I wonder why some of you get so riled up about other races getting priority over you (due to being higher risk) when you're not at all bothered by people older or fatter than you getting priority over you. Things that make you go hmm.
  6. I know right? And why isn't there White Entertainment Television or White History Month?!??!
  7. Who's saying "similar medical history"? We know that some nonwhite ethnic groups have higher levels of obesity, diabetes, etc. We also know that the poors have higher rates of the same. So targeting those communities would be optimizing the ROI of the early investment.
  8. I actually have access to top secret datas
  9. If you boil it down to its simplest form, giving out 1,000 vaccines to Hispanics is going to save more lives than giving out 1,000 vaccines to Whites. Greater good is served. Math doesn't lie. The problem is not that it's racist or whatever virtue signaling type of deal people choose to be outraged about. It's that it's clunky and overly complex and is probably slowing down the rollout, which then undoes the greater good benefit they're trying to accomplish.
  10. You don't think a Patriot Party senate candidate could win SEC states like Alabama, Kentucky, Arkansas, etc.? Any state more than 15% or so right of the country would be mathematically and reasonably winnable for them. In a scenario where the "right" gets 60-65% of the vote, the Patriot Party only needs a majority of the right-wing votes and they'd win. In Wyoming the Republican got 70% of the vote to the Democrat's 30%. If you split that 70% up between Patriot and Republican, whichever wins the majority of that 70% would beat the Democrat. And the last four years have definitely shown that a lunatic Trumper can beat a traditional GOP candidate on a lot of battlefields in this country. There are 13 states that have a R+14 or higher PVI. Those are all winnable.
  11. That would be pretty good schadenfreude but we'd also be facing the imminent disaster of having probably 50+ Patriot Party Representatives, and perhaps 10-15 Senators. As funny as watching the monster eat the GOP would be, the consequences would probably be bad for everyone.
  12. Yeah, I understand that it's pretty low risk. But it's still high risk in a sense, because my MIL is pretty much a "will die if she gets it" type. Tough decision. Hopefully one of the last of this type we'll have to make after a year of them.
  13. I think the people that won't get the vaccine have been back to normal for awhile.
  14. That's where we're at, but I was hoping you or someone had data. I'm having a bitch of a time finding it on google. But I swear I saw somewhere on here someone had posted that the first dose is around 90% effective at stopping hospitalizations.
  15. LOL don't be a douche. My mother in law wants to come visit us for her birthday in a week and see the new baby, but she has serious comorbidities. We're trying to decide what to do. We have a kid in daycare, so there's always some risk of him bringing an asymptomatic case home. She will have had her first Pfizer shot for about two weeks at the point she wants to come, trying to find data on it to figure out what her risk would be coming over here.
  16. Just quoting this to ping you since you're our vaccine guy. Have you seen any data on how well the first pfizer shot (without the second) protects against serious cases/hospitalizations/death?
  17. Anyway, how do you feel about the article I posted? You ok with employees being forced to urinate in cups and bottles or risk being fired? You're okay with him literally stealing his employee's wages? Just a good old magnanimous billionaire?
  18. I see what Austin is doing and on some levels it makes sense. Poor communities have more comorbidities. Covid would be financially ruinous for those without insurance. And/or get kicked back to taxpayers and patients that pay their bills. But it's unnecessarily complex and self defeating. It comes from a good place but it's over-engineered and kinda silly. That could be Austin's motto in general.
  19. You're right the minimum wage thing was the important part of my post, not that Amazon has reduced the employer employee relationship down to wage slavery to the point where their employees are literally not allowed to take bathroom breaks. https://www.theverge.com/2018/4/16/17243026/amazon-warehouse-jobs-worker-conditions-bathroom-breaks
  20. His minimum wage warehouse employees have to piss in cups while they work instead of taking bathroom breaks because they're not allowed unscheduled personal breaks. He is a complete piece of shit.
