  1. ok They're 5-6, they're losing even with their top superstar playing 40 minutes per game, and their 2nd superstar is being incredibly cancerous. Lucky first gig for Nash indeed. "I think his stint in Boston got messy because he couldn't stay healthy." lol. "He is also no longer the best player on the team which should do him some good. " lol Here's another winner: I mean it's all good, I'm not dragging you that hard or anything. Every year some team's fans convince themselves that Kyrie has just been in places he doesn't fit or has had some bad injury or chemistry luck. You're a Durant guy ergo a Nets guy and you got sucked into it. It's happened to a lot of people. Kyrie is a negative asset. Has been for a few years. He's paid like an All-NBA player, and he gives you 15-20 games per year at that level. The other 60 games he's either hurt or half-assing it, while ruining the team's chemistry and eating up a third of your cap space. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me four times, and well, I'm a Nets fan I guess.
  2. I suppose that's fair but you seemed pretty cocksure of your take that the Nets were a lock to be a contender while scoffing at those of us who thought there was a lot of built-in risk with that team. They are 5-6. But, I'm not going to spike the football 11 games into the season. Durant is only going to get better, and maybe Kyrie gets his shit together. But he's definitely a full blown cancer. It's just a matter of whether he can be managed. I have a feeling hindsight is going to show us that they should have gotten a more experienced head coach that has some gravitas to deal with him. We'll see.
  3. Was it d2o or ztejas that was beating the "Kyrie isn't actually a cancer" drum all offseason? [emoji23][emoji23]
  4. What's the point of this? It's not going to get through congress and if it's an Executive Order, it's going to be overturned in about a week.
  5. Here's a sneak peek of the clash between the violent Trump loyalists and the police on inagauration day (start at about 1:10):
  6. Wait hold up. Are we sure Trump doesn't think he's giving his speech at the actual Alamo, and didn't accidentally book the city of Alamo, Texas instead?
  7. All of these people who are unable to cope with the consequences of their actions are the same people who run around saying they believe in "personal responsibility". Spoiled coddled titty babies. We are seeing the impact of a generation of nouveau-riche exurban white trash helicopter parenting their little Ashli and Jaxon come to roost. Bunch of pussies. Nuke Plano.
  8. He seems more like a predator that tries to hook up with high school girls than a closet gay.
  9. This is going to change pretty rapidly when the model goes from hospitals focusing on their employees to giant distribution centers like the Alamodome and NRG, and the vaccine opening up to a much larger population. We're also going to get a couple new companies with vaccinations coming into play in February. Phase 1A was always going to be slow and kinda shitty. I'm hopeful that 1B and beyond will start to get some momentum going and put some numbers on the board.
  10. This is right. I don't want to respond to the sock but the Cops circle and the "racist insane violent conspiracy theorist Trump supporter" circle are almost fully overlapping. Trump didn't need to actively do anything to build a network of sympathizers in the DC police. Cops love the bullshit he's selling.
  11. I was thinking about this as well. People generally assume that I'm a conservative when they meet me. I always change out of my suit or business wear into more casual stuff when I'm flying home. I might have to keep the monkey suit on at least until I get through security so they peg me as business guy and not domestic white terrorist guy in a Longhorn hat. Or I could just wear my gritty shirt.
  12. It's really unlikely that it was coordinated amongst the big tech companies. It was lemming effect where one of them did it then the rest of them realized that if they didn't follow suit, they'd get canceled.
  13. Well, we're already represented by a bunch of limp wristed Canadians and New Englanders who have never done a hard day's work in their lives, so Trump would fit right in.
  14. Agreed. I'm basking in the glory of all these fools getting banned from social media as much as anyone, but a government solution isn't the answer. It's fundamentally un-American. I don't have a problem with the Fairness Doctrine or requiring "news" to report factual news. But as terrible as social media is, it should be treated the same as regular, verbal communication with the same first amendment considerations. The solution needs to come from the demand side. The fact that we as a society are too lazy and social media addicted to demand better of the companies doesn't justify going and changing the cornerstones of our Democracy. To add, I do believe there should be a significant amount of government and law enforcement resources invested in rooting out foreign trolls on social media, which are a huge problem dividing us. And Facebook and Twitter and the like should be required to cooperate fully as they would with any other open investigation.
  15. lol at Bama running on 3rd and 5 and easily getting it. Everyone in that stadium knows this game is over.
  16. Wife and I are through episode 6 of Industry, I think. It's _almost_ a good show. It needs less young adult relationship and sex drama and more of the business side of things. It needs to explore the older experienced characters who are some of the best on the show, instead of every non-business scene being somebody fucking somebody new and that hurting some else's feelings. It alternates between annoying soap opera for Gen Z and a really good and entertaining show about business and characters. It also needs less dick and man ass.
  17. Man. I want what you're having. Never underestimate the Democrats' ability to get completely destroyed in a contest of messaging where they hold all the cards. Two years is a long time. And now the GOP gets to be back to attack/obstruct mode which is where they're most comfortable. Within a year, they're going to be sitting comfortably in their minority position, espousing fiscal responsibility and talking about woke culture and abortion as the reason why there is so much civil unrest. And without Trump as a central figure to continually remind people how terrible the GOP is, a lot of people with short memories will buy it.
  18. I posted a similar prediction awhile back myself. I think the number is probably closer to 100k vaccinated before we really see an almost flatlining of cases. Although we're going to see deaths drop precipitously probably in the next month or so due to vaccination of high risk groups. Generally agree with your Memorial Day/Labor Day framework. I might be less optimistic than you by a month, but I think by Memorial Day, normal society is going to be open again.
  19. On Ohio State money line as well. Blows my mind that everyone is acting like Ohio State is a bunch of 3 stars. Already got paid once for the same bet vs. Clemson so this is house money.
  20. Baker is 26 and he's the oldest guy left in the AFC. The future is bright for the QBs in the AFC. The NFC is the exact opposite. 3 of the 4 left are near the end of their careers. It's all about the old guys in that conference. Not sure if the NFC has a crop of good up and coming QBs. You're forgetting the up and coming young dynamo, Taysom Hill.
