  1. Yeah but it beats the 90 minute trip to HEB on shepherd.
  2. Many of those sites no longer allow US users to log onto their accounts. And the account may not longer exist but you can attempt to log on. At one point, they advised customers to download reports but that was years ago. If you know the date that you purchased or roughly the month, you should be able to get a decent idea about the cost on coinmarketcap.
  3. As for the doctor telling patients not to answer the citizenship question, he's putting the hospitals' tax exempt status at risk. Not-for-profit hospitals and their employees are not supposed to participate in politics. For employees I mean in terms of representing the hospital. The doctor could make a political statement on his own but he's risking his job if he describes himself as a TCH doctor. And even if the govt is ultimately unable to punish the hospital or healthcare system, it's stupid of the doctor to risk his employment by making a political statement. Now if he's not representing himself in any way as a TCH doctor, then I don't think he's in the wrong. Or he could advise patients on the law of ignoring the question and the lack of consequences but he shouldn't give his recommendation. just my 2 cents.
  4. Curious as to whether Jack Smith or Garland could decide to release all of the records to the public or at least the House and Senate so that their evidence is available for historic purposes. Or they can leave them behind for Pam Bondi to shred. With the charges dropped does the presiding judge still have control of the case? If Smith/Garland released the evidence, would they be breaking any laws? I'm assuming they would redact any classified info.
  5. free universal healthcare could be subtitled, "worse healthcare for all". the problem isn't that the US pays too much for drugs, which we do, the problem is that the rest of the world is a free rider for these drugs. Pass a law that we will pay the median price negotiated by other western countries. Force them to cover more of the costs and profits of the pharm industry.
  6. that was going to happen once Trump won. Were they going to prosecute Trump for having documents that he shouldn't have in 2022 but has 100% access to the files in Jan 2025? not to mention that Trump could once again (first time?) declare those documents as unclassified and therefore there would be ridiculous to prosecute him. As always, the problem was slow prosecution and a judge who did everything to slow it down.
  7. The gop communicates that the left is full of radicals when it’s a relatively small amount. The problem is that the moderate left doesn’t want to upset those “radicals” so they don’t refute much of the rights talking points. When they have refuted talking points, dems have been successful IMO. Dems should also flip the script in the other direction. Yes it requires hyperbole but that is what works in today’s communication. Create clips of public schools turning into prayer centers and add in a creepy reverend getting too close to a student. Show an incel school shooter getting excited watching a trump clip. Show the manosphere podcasters talking about women staying in the kitchen, losing the right to vote and not being able to divorce abusive men. we have crazy (more than Trump) republicans in school boards, state legislatures and even national. Use the worst of them against the entire party. Put them on the defensive. Dems should be able to win a close Midwest senate seat just by showing clips of the Oklahoma education leader.
  8. Not a believer in prayer but hoping the best for the guy. Get well!
  9. Chuck Woolery played a race tv announcer in Six Pack. Anyone in a movie with Anthony Michael hall and Diane Lane, in their teens, as a NASCAR pit crew is ok by me.
  10. Possibly she’s not a world class doctor in terms of straight As and getting into a top notch school. But by all accounts she’s a qualified family medicine doctor. She just looks like she prioritized being a media doctor in addition to her practice. Some doctors also minimize their practice to go into business or practice/hospital leadership. we have a problem with US based med schools not producing enough doctors so we have to look outside for doctors. That alone doesn’t make them incompetent besides the surgeon general’s job is about communication. From a few clips that I’ve seen I haven’t noticed her telling Covid patients to drink bleach. She does seem to be critical of some Covid measures like extended quarantine periods for people exposed but she was also pro vax which is partially surprising for a Fox News correspondent. I’m sure Fox producers downplayed her vax opinions on air.
  11. Kiffin doing all he can to ensure they don’t make the SEC championship game.
  12. Dammit, when I saw the labor secretary is a current gop house member from Oregon, I got my hopes up that the Dems could flip her seat tightening up the house mix. But then learned that she just lost her incumbency to a Dem.
  13. Trump probably has a ton of crap that needs to be sold because he was unsure that he would get elected. Instead of quietly selling it, why waste an opportunity to sell something that rubes think can be handed down in the family. This century’s version of a family owning a pen reportedly used by George Washington.
  14. The retail sites are now asking over 100k for a Bitcoin due to their inflated ask prices. Only a matter of time for the advanced price to go over the hump as well. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Can’t believe we’re at 6 figures.
  15. I've recently purchased a Whoop body tracker that I like but don't like the results so far. I like how it estimates the strain you're putting your body through each day, and if your rest/sleep is allowing you to fully recover or not. As previously written my sleep sucks lately so I'm in the red for sleep and recovery with Whoop. In talking with long term Whoop users, they tell me how their experience is that when you have a few drinks at night, the Whoop numbers easily identify how your sleep is worse.
  16. well shoot. I was enjoying the continued dragging of Gaetz through the mud.
  17. The leaked Venmo payment chart from Gaetz to his underage women. Perhaps there are a few adults in there as well. The main spider web on the right is Gaetz’s friend who pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a minor and fraud. 11 years in federal prison.
  18. there is an increasing loud voice from the right that we should all accept that the DOJ opted to not prosecute Gaetz so therefore the information form the ethics panel doesn’t matter. If you hear someone say this, call bs. Something may not rise to the level of a federal prosecution but still be relevant in allowing someone to be the AG. The bar shouldn’t be that only federal crimes disqualify a nominee. there is also a view that Gaetz should be allowed to defend himself because it’s possible the accusations are false. I agree 100%. I have zero problem if he wants to argue against the accusations and he can bring witnesses forward.
  19. Maybe. When orgs like MicroStrategy are buying billions of dollars worth of btc, prices can quickly jump when supply dries up. Disclaimer, I don’t think they are buying on the retail apps but I have to think there is a relatively quick impact to retail prices. im more of the opinion that we run up to $100k before there is a correction. Perhaps even exactly at 100k because that could trigger large auto sales.
  20. Talk that DOGE may require more govt workers to come into the office. https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/20/politics/doge-remote-work-federal-employees/index.html I don’t personally have an issue with this because some workers or even jobs are not as efficient at home. My opinion. And if some workers decide to quit over it, that’s their choice. Unless you have an employment contract, the employment conditions can be altered by the boss.
  21. McMahon was in Trump's first go-round as administrator of the small business administration. That was one of those roles where you're a cabinet level official at the discretion of the President but it's not a secretary position and you're not in the succession line. And she resigned in 2019 so she wasn't there to condemn him or resign after Jan 6th. Therefore she's still viewed as loyal and not a surprise to get a promotion for round 2.
  22. Good call out. I just fell into the pre diabetic level at my last annual. Doc didn’t suggest I do anything about it yet except better overall habits. Focusing on more exercise, cardio and weights. Slowly progressing with that. @South Austin I’m trying to exercise in the mornings only. Going out for a 8pm run is far in my past.
  23. I’ve pretty much given up alcohol except in terms of socializing with friends 1-2 times per week. Can’t recall the last time I had alcohol at home for no reason. Alcohol destroys my sleep but I allow myself if I get the socializing aspect. Even then I cap it at 3. And if I’m out with friends who don’t drink, I’m absolutely fine copying them. To be clear, I like drinking but don’t like the impact of it. strangely I’ve upped my exercise level recently and now I can barely sleep thru the night. I’ve tried melatonin which only helps me get to sleep faster which was never the problem. Hopefully this is just a short term transition.
  24. Bump. Feels like I’ve received over $100 in junk mail from the El Paso hunger org since I donated $100 4 years ago. Obvious exaggeration but the biggest pain with charities is their consistency in asking for more.
