  1. Just as they excused the Entertainment Tonight interview from being the election. Except that was a work interview related to his TV job and not a locker room. Even Melania excused it as how men talk in a locker room.
  2. I recall the recent video of the Ole Miss student from Dallas who was dancing and making noise like a gorilla in front of the black student. This was in the middle of a school day. I can't imagine how they would act on a Saturday night after a day of drinking.
  3. I've watched videos of former govt intelligence employees saying that Trump was 100% wrong in keeping and then retaining classified material when asked to return them, but they're still voting for him. I imagine there are ex-military who are uncomfortable if not in disagreement with Trump using Arlington as a political prop, but they will still vote for him. And don't get me started on the evangelical hypocrisy. They just don't care.
  4. There's even some positive direction in Montgomery County. Not necessarily a lot of progress but not going in the wrong direction like in the 80s to 2000.
  5. That's the right idea. If you put your kids into situations surrounded by people with bad ideas, there is little chance some of those ideas won't rub off on your kid. We're all often a product of our environment. Send a kid to _____ University don't be surprised when they come home talking like the average student.
  6. Yes. UT does not fit well into the culture of the SEC. SEC schools look to have a large following of local/statewide fans who fit the category of tshirt fans. Even they couldn't meet the relatively low academic standards and/or pay the cheap tuition. Plus many of these schools have a very high percentage of out of state students. Ole Miss is close to 60% out of state whereas UT is <10%. Out of state students are not going to Ole Miss because of the academics. They're attracted to the Ole Miss student life and how they fit into that culture. It's no surprise that some of these schools become an echo chamber of racist and bigoted beliefs. They're only repeating what they grew up hearing from their parents and from their fellow students. I would bet that many parents would never let their kids attend these schools. Obviously I'm not talking about each school and each student but rather the average.
  7. Maybe it’s camera catching everything in the world now but too many people go apeshit over any situation. I would be very annoyed with a crying baby on a plane but no reason to potentially ruin your life over it. There’s also the idea of preparing for a noisy flight. If you can’t afford noise cancelling headphones, go buy some $2 ear plugs.
  8. There’s a good reason why some jobs rarely have openings and might require that you’re someone’s son/daughter/niece/nephew. “After careful consideration of all of the quality candidates, I’ve decided to hire my son who just wrapped up 6 years getting the undergraduate degree.”
  9. Smith et al Foundation. Jones needs to step up to be a named partner. Smith doesn’t need Jones.
  10. Hospice care was great with my mom. A doctor is supposed to sign off that the main medical condition is likely to lead to death within 6 months but it’s not like hospice care ends at 6 months. It last can years. the downside is that you effectively give up curative care but you can also drop hospice whenever you want. Then if you want to return to hospice, you can.
  11. I’ve long told Harris County to not display my name on voter registration websites. Downside is that I can’t check my status on self serve websites. Guess I will find out in November if I’m registered or maybe I will just register again.
  12. I wouldn't recommend starting off telling a doctor that you've diagnosed the cause to be the COVID vaccine. I'm sure you can find a healthcare professional who will readily agree and sell you plenty of over the counter remedies that insurance won't cover. People are happy to sell you $200 vitamin combos. Find a dermatologist and give them the facts, including that any medication recently taken along with a COVID vaccine. Any reputable derm will be familiar with skin reactions to common vaccines. And if it is related to the vaccine, they will have methods to treat it.
  13. In dealings with family members, most weird, highly dramatic events are almost always related to drug addiction. Drug addicts make bad decisions especially when law enforcement is involved. As in quickly leaving town with $20 in their pocket and zero credit cards. Not that I'm even remotely accusing anyone in recent news stories of drug use. I do feel for anyone, especially parents, who have a drug addict in their lives. Very emotional and financial draining, and you have to deal with a loved one lying to you constantly. I watched my mom refuse to give a family member $100 for drugs (solid and right decision), but shelling out thousands for bail and lawyers a few days later.
  14. Texas Republicans haven't grasped the fact that our property tax system is based on taxing unrealized capital gains in respect to homeowners. And actually it's not capital gains but total asset value with a small exemption. But not surprising that Texas GOPers haven't connected those dots.
  15. Back on the main topic i have to guess that someone in Swindells demographics has a high percentage of being hard core maga (50%) or at least being unable to vote for a democrat (30%). if you add in that he has an autistic son that was diagnosed soon after vaccines, being a trump supporter must be closer to 95%
  16. Yeah. It's easy to think that Grandma's confusion is due to senility but if it's sudden onset dementia, an UTI is a likely culprit. To my untrained mind, its makes little sense.
  17. I feel like I watch mainstream news and they constantly fact check especially when it's presented as a fact. If Trump says the economy is bad, that's an opinion and cannot be fact checked. If Trump says 50m people came over the southern border last night, that can be fact checked as there is no credible source backing up that claim.
  18. If mental clarity is a problem, the most likely reason is a UTI. A doctor can order the test virtually. Also important to remember that it could be several things going on at once and not just one condition with multiple symptoms.
  19. Don't repeat the same lines that the right says about the mainstream media. It's a bad look
  20. On what? An adult going on a trip? Land of the free.
  21. for those that fall into his camp but having opposing views on reproductive rights, he wants to give each side just enough to believe him.
  22. an adult doesn't answer calls from their parents and they know roughly where she is, and who she's with? I'm unsure that meets the definition of missing.
  23. If I was invited to a group lunch somewhere and one of the guys was dressed like this, I'm sitting somewhere else if not leaving. At a minimum the hat and shoes gotta go. The shirt is horrific but I could ignore that. still dead
  24. In contrast, there's evidence that Melania only shows up when she's paid by the Trump campaign or PAC. And I realize that families can have different levels of public affection for each other, there is no evidence that anyone in the Trump family likes each other. Perhaps Melania and Baron being the exception.
  25. doubtful that many meaningful files weren't shredded years ago. If any were left, they would be destroyed if RFK Jr. was about to be given access power. EDIT: let's look to close this thread soon as it doesnt matter after today.
