  1. Republicans that are honest with themselves would agree that they would rather spend time with Kamala and Tim. Who would want to spend time with Trump and Vance outside of the fact that you might take home some incredible stories.
  2. She should want his mic hot and have him interrupt her. You want to piss off women at home, have Trump interrupt Harris again and again.
  3. I first read some analysis that some thought it would be close to impossible for a sailboat to capsize within minutes when the keel would work to right the boat. Then short of massive hull breeches, a boat that size would take time to sink. But then I read how the sailboat had a feature to raise the keel for use in shallow harbors or at anchorage. No official word if the keel was extended or not. https://nypost.com/2024/08/22/world-news/bayesian-investigators-probe-whether-subtle-mistake-could-have-caused-yacht-to-sink/
  4. He will soon flat out bribe voters to vote for him soon. "I will give each American a $5,000 tax rebate when I'm elected"
  5. no network will fact check him via the moderators.
  6. Only 11.9%? You're really giving him the benefit of the doubt that his credit score is at least in the low 600s. I'm also fairly confident that he's at a Hooters, but looks to have a female date with him. While I'm not surprised that he's a regular at Hooters, I would have guessed he would be dining alone while thinking his favorite 19-year old waitress loves him.
  7. You just know that his first tattoo was the full arm sleeve. He also drives a F250 and backs into compact spaces at Kroger.
  8. On the comments about not seeing ads for Allred, that could be a sign of efficient campaigning. With targeted ads, it's a waste of money for Allred to advertise to people that are most likely already voting for him. I barely see anything for Allred but I live in Houston and will vote for anyone not named Cruz. I could see a strategy for Allred that he should pretty much leave the bigger cities alone and count on Kamala to wrangle those votes and I presume >95% of her voters in the city will vote for Allred. He needs to work to pull voters in the Valley, suburbs and small towns. He won't win the majority there, at least in small towns, but receiving an additional ~5 points may just be enough. It is a shame that the timing didn't work for this to be the 2018 Beto senate campaign year.
  9. I'm unsure if he can have a worse look than from last night on fox news. "She's going to give a tax increase of 4 to 5 times what people and companies are paying right now" while simultaneously punching the the 4 and 5 buttons on his phone to accentuate his point. In a weird way he may be right since he personally pays so little in taxes that 5x-ing that amount may only get him aligned to the average worker.
  10. I don't think there is anyone that is happy with the state of SF. Between the progressive reforms and ridiculous wealth inequality, the city has fundamental problems that aren't being addressed. There isn't even any consensus on what a future SF should look like much less how to get there. SF does give NYC some ideas on what not to do.
  11. I'll be shocked if Trump debates her. It's possible that he could be down enough in the polls that even he sees it as a necessity but he would still likely decline. Of course he won't position it as an invite decline. He will say that Biden is the real nominee who had the nomination illegally stolen and Trump won't support that action.
  12. At the end of the day that is the right of the DA and therefore the citizens to decide what to prosecute. And when the citizens decided that the previous DA, Chesa Boudin, didn't meet their needs, they tossed him out via a recall. Recalls are fairly drastic. I've seen the videos of smash-and-grabs in stores or vehicles and it pisses me off as much as anyone. I keep wanting to see an employee take a crowbar to the knees of the thieves but alas it never happens. And honesty it's not the employees' job to hurt thieves.
  13. Paxton probably saw this interview and today has many new personal fundraising ideas.
  14. History will remember the July-Aug 2024 6-week depression.
  15. Duh. If the Dems would just stop requiring the wealthy and corporations to pay taxes, the vast majority of those savings will find themselves in the pocket of the workers. Reagan called for this in 1980 but Dems just keep standing in the way of the working class from getting ahead. When are Dem voters going to learn to just trust CEOs and billionaires.
  16. Ohio GOP senate candidate Moreno has earned an estimated $100m in selling off his car dealerships where he proudly states that he started with very little a couple of decades ago. Great story where a guy from Colombia made it big in America. Pulled himself up by his own bootstraps and now wants to lead by serving in the Senate. Maybe not. As a GOP guy, he has the standard platform. Here are 2 out of his 16 priorities on his website 12. Allow free markets to work 15. End Wokeness and Cancel Culture Why did I list these? He received special deals (lower financial requirements, special start up costs and financing) from the car manufacturers because..., well I will let Moreno's deposition speak for itself. Source here is some of the money that he received for being Hispanic. This is from a court case where other dealers (probably non-hispanic, white guys) were upset. Moreno is the epitome of a guy that was offered a ladder and then pulled it up after himself. I don't necessarily care that he received help from private industry. They can do what they want but he's the biggest hypocrite by running as a Trump Republican. As an aside, he earned the Trump endorsement by spending the most at Trump properties but that's another story. He also has a weird start in business with an older guy in the car business acting as a mentor. The two later had a falling out while vacationing together.
  17. Fox News is hanging up on Trump while he’s still talking? Talk about an easy sign to interpret that they think his best chance to win is to not be heard.
  18. Well he is an old man. I wonder if he calls Eric or Barron when he needs to be walked through rebooting the WiFi router.
  19. Conroe ISD realized that they were banning books that were hurting their students chances in their future educational goals so they’re looking to reverse the course on at least some of the books. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/neighborhood/conroe/article/conroe-isd-policy-books-limited-19705448.php
  20. Looking forward to what a non-story it will be tomorrow when RFK bends the knee to Trump. The right media will play it up as if RFK was previously polling 25% but even they will stop mentioning RFK by the end of the weekend.
  21. Fake news tweet. Trump has already said that he doesn’t know anyone behind project 2025. It’s real to me!
  22. I wonder if they have to handle entertainers who have volunteered to appear on the last night but have to kindly be told no.
  23. If the surprise guest is an entertainer, I wouldn't understand any reason that you wouldn't want to publicize it in advance. The goal would be to get people to watch, not hear about it the next day.
  24. No, they will still say that the people causing the problems were ANTIFA.
  25. between this and his new crypto scam service, I'm guessing that he sees his only options as president or jail&bankrupt.
