  1. But he looks to be working towards going after hospitals who treat illegal immigrants. It's only a matter of time.
  2. Yep. It's GOP 25-13 in Congress for Texas, counting SJL's seat as Democrat. In 2022, the GOP received 58% of the congress votes in Texas but own 65% of the seats themselves. If completely fair, the breakdown of seats should be 22-16 for the GOP. And if really fair, I would expect higher Dem voting to be closer to create a GOP 20-18.
  3. Good catch. Hunt in the 14th. NW Houston. There are a surprising number of Houston area Republicans in Congress. They do a great job of cracking a blue county even though some of the seats I mentioned are in other counties as well.
  4. Aren't there just a few seats in the general Houston area winnable by a republican? 2nd (NE Houston) - Crenshaw 8th (North of Houston) - Morgan Luttrell (I had no idea Marcus Luttrell's brother is in Congress. Replaced the retiring Brady.) 10th (West of Houston) - McCaul 14th (Freeport-Galveston-Port Arthur) - Weber 22nd (Rosenberg) - Nehls I'm unsure where Ogg could think she could fit into any of these districts. Either the GOPer ain't going anywhere or the district wouldn't like Ogg.
  5. In the spirit of generosity, Truth Social earns $4m in revenue per year. A few google searches tell me that a high traffic convenience store earns between $2 and $5m in revenue per year. As a reminder, Truth Social has a market cap of $5B. Then again, the Silicon Valley tv show on HBO taught us that you want to be pre-revenue. Trump screwed up by building a site that earns revenue.
  6. He's scared if he's willing to dump his exclusivity with Trump Social or whatever it's called. Let's see if he trip back to Twitter is short lived just due to his talk with Elon today.
  7. Critical that Dems get out the vote for House races to limit shenanigans in congressional certifications for the Presidency. Dems only need to flip 5 seats to take the majority. I believe Alabama and Louisiana have new districts that most likely will flip Democrat. GA, SC, OH and NY are in battles with the court to redraw the districts that could also add to the Dem totals but I'm unsure if they will get resolved soon. If Texas had a Democrat party, they could be fighting hard for the districts on the southern border. Either to flip them blue and prevent the opposite. Crazy to me that Brownsville has consistently voted republican as of late. It wouldn't shock me if the Republicans took another border district this year with immigration fears and lies about Harris shutting off all the oil wells.
  8. Trump's plan is relatively simple, and I imagine that it's fully prepared by some. Create enough confusion to give the GOP in Congress to ultimately refuse to certify. Ask the Supreme Court to decide on the certification status. Plan 1 - The Supreme Court rules in favor of Trump for winning, bypassing all vote counts. Plan 2 - The Supreme Court rules that the election is voided, giving the power to the House to decide. As of today, Trump would win that vote. Another scary aspect is that the Speaker could temporarily become President while waiting for a decision. The Constitution wouldn't let Biden hang around waiting for an outcome.
  9. Unsure. If Trump wants to use a large arena, the arena could easily require full payment or at least a down payment. This is why Trump prefers to find a MAGA business owner with a large property to hold the events. He most likely pays nothing and strong arms the business owner to pay for the setup. I still could see the local law enforcement having a duty to assist even if Trump owes them $$. Law enforcement doesn't want the optics of a shot ex-President or a riot occurring in their area while they're sitting back at the station doing nothing. However past unpaid bills could keep Trump away as it draws attention to him being a deadbeat.
  10. If Trump rolled into Tucson and held an event at a private location, would the city and police really refuse to assist the Secret Service? They have an obligation to protect the people in their jurisdiction. I don't know if they would take the stance that they're avoiding a rally to protect/assist a former President and 5K people just because they weren't previously paid. Unpaid bills feels more like a civil matter and not a reason to allow a free-for-all in their town.
  11. This is where Trump's narcissism comes into play. If he embraced standard GOP candidates that didn't kiss his ass, he would have an easier path to winning. Instead he endorses nuts like Kari Lake and tells popular GOP politicians like Kemp to f themselves. I'm so glad that we can count on Trump being Trump.
  12. He doesn't have immunity due to running a campaign. I am planning to watch with anticipation how the GOP handles kicking Trump to the side without alienating MAGA. I can't imagine they will enthusiastically entertain a Trump run when he's 82.
  13. Plenty of reasons why problems occur. pedestrians walking (and talking) with earbuds in. (noise cancelling ear buds!) cyclists not following traffic laws, or only following them when it suits them. Also wearing ear buds. drivers checking/typing on their phones. roads and lights with poor design; not meeting traffic patterns and needs. Think a left hand turn lane constructed for 3 vehicles when 10 need it. apps like waze directing drivers to cut through neighborhoods to save 2 minutes, or avoid poorly designed roads. Short of cul-de-sacs or dead-ends, every road is now a cut-through road. wider and wider roads creating issues for pedestrians having time to cross. and all the above make people madder and madder. They may not purposefully run over someone, but anger can lead to unsafe driving.
  14. And our leaders refuse to increase the number of representatives and therefore electoral votes to accurately reflect the number of citizens. Texas should have many more electoral votes along with other large states. Looking back, Obama should have used the Dems majority in 2009-10 to push through an improved apportionment law for House seats. This would have removed the smaller states' power in terms of equalizing. It wouldn't have necessarily just helped Dems but made the system more fair.
  15. Teachers knowing their place is to stay in the classroom, saying nothing outside the classroom and earning below average salaries = Good Teachers publicly advocating for students and teachers = Bad
  16. even losing NV and AZ are ok as long as Harris sweeps the great lakes and omaha.
  17. While I wished it wouldn't occur, Trump will have zero Presidential immunity when he incites violence after losing this year. And any DA or US Attorney shouldn't take 2-3 years to arrest his ass. It should be the same day. When he calls or hints at the need of a violent overthrow of the US Govt, arrest him that afternoon. You can take time to present your case but there is zero reason to delay especially since he's an elderly man.
  18. I heard an interesting take on "DEI hire" that I hadn't previously heard expressed so I wanted to share. When someone calls Kamala, a DEI hire, they're calling her the n-word without saying the n-word. "DEI hire" has replaced it as an acceptable word in groups where they would feel rightfully uncomfortable saying the n-word. When you hear someone saying DEI hire, realize what they're really saying. And feel free to educate them on what they're really saying, and ask them to stop it. Obviously, "DEI hire" can be used for other racist slurs as well.
  19. Goes along with the idea that she's not qualified which anyone with half a brain can see is not accurate. She has a lifetime career in politics and govt work as a lawyer. Now it's fair if someone wants to attack her as a lifetime govt worker, but that is also weak given so many of the GOP fit into that category as well. Harris will be painted as dumb, inexperienced and a whore. Add to the spoken/not-loudly spoken belief that a woman isn't emotionally capable of being President. We all know Trump is well in control of his emotions. They will also paint her as the biggest leftist this country as ever seen. She was considered moderate if not conservative in CA. Which most likely puts her closer to Bill Clinton's ideology than Joe Biden.
  20. What a ghoul. He wants immigrants to suffer by hoping (his desire not mine) that they stay away from seeking healthcare. I notice that he never asks to quantify the financial benefit that Texans realize from undocumented workers including lower costs and tax revenue.
  21. Drop the price enough, people will overlook an asset’s past. people don’t want to live in a house where a murder took place. But drop the price 30% and their attitude changes.
  22. Was there much Russian military presence in this area before this past week? From maps, the area is completely rural with the largest towns around 5k population.
  23. Give them both bronze. Because at the end of the day, no one outside of a few really care. And it’s not like the medal itself costs any money. Given the chance of ties, they have extra.
