  1. If Harris loses NV the main pain is the strong likelihood of also losing the senate seat. There isn’t a realistic scenario of the Dems retaining the senate at all. And since the GOP taking the senate this year has been the expected result for several years now, the real impact is that ‘26 and ‘28 becomes that much more difficult for the Dems.
  2. As for 1, the only consensus that people have come up with is if quantum computing could suddenly break the security algorithm. Which would mean any password for crypto, bank accounts, whatever would be hackable. Obviously the impact would be greater to non -crypto. Bitcoin code is open for all to see and the developers are not pushing new code with a new sprint each week. 2 has a lower potential each day as more traditional investors are moving into it daily. Now both parties are taking big money from crypto so I don’t see the risk like I did 5 years ago. disclaimer that you may be 100% right about both. I dont have a crystal ball.
  3. I bet any known name makes some advertisement money. Advertisers approach teams and agents with budgets and effectively ask who they can get. Recognizable faces and names are better. He was defensive player of year, all pro, 2nd overall pick. His ad money isn’t zero. perhaps he doesn’t have a national ad but few players have that.
  4. DJT stock is up over 3x in a month. Trading was temp halted this morning because the price rally was too high. if Trump wins, I suppose DJT could go up another 50%. But if he loses, it may drop 95% Wednesday. I like to make money but I wouldn’t touch this.
  5. Crickets on conservative boards about bosa. I could only imagine the reaction if an AA player had a Kamala hat on. as for Bosa I bet his agent called him asking wtf was he doing unless he wants to be dropped by any current advertiser.
  6. After a fair amount of time (crypto time) stuck in the 55-63 range, btc has easily pushed north of 70k. What I’m unsure is how this is related to the election or not. I’ve heard some macro Econ thinkers say that both candidates look to be adding to inflation with Trump potentially being higher. No CR intended but just relating what I heard. and that with inflation, some big investors are looking to both btc and gold as a hedge against inflation. It’s one thing to read a reddit post about someone investing their life savings of $15k in bitcoin but it’s something else when millionaires if not billionaires are saying the same. This still gives me confidence in the future for bitcoin. since I brought up the election, I could see a quick btc price drop if Trump loses. Once again no CR just speculation about a future possibility.
  7. The increasing loudness of some Wall Street leaders saying that Trump will win tells me that they’re unsure that Harris is slightly leading. If they truly thought the race was over, they would just sit back and do whatever behind the scenes that would make them and their client the most money. Instead they’re trying to move the needle ever so much by telling everyone the race is over.
  8. I know there is doctor-patient confidentiality but I would never tell a psychologist that I murdered someone. Not that I ever would murder someone. (See how easy it is.)
  9. If the WashPo had said 6 months ago they were not endorsing a candidate as the full editorial board, they would have taken some heat but at least it would have set the plans well in advance. 10 days before the election is weak. like others I cancelled my washpo sub subscription as a protest. The sad part is that the news side of their house has nothing to do with the ownership/editorial side and the news side will take any job cuts due to lost subscriptions. However cancelled subscriptions is the only way that subscribers can communicate their reaction.
  10. Bosa’s a little bitch. Runs on the field with a maga hat but then tells the press later that he doesn’t want to talk about it. You have a microphone in front of you where you can say whatever you want about your beliefs but instead act like a 8 year old caught doing something wrong. At least be a man about it.
  11. Something seems off. I looked up the Texas crime rates for 2023. There were 11K reported rapes. I can understand that many rapes are unreported but this feels like one of the reports is wrong. On the subject, the rape/sexual assault rates in small towns is through the roof. The one bright spot is that clearance rate is also higher presumably due to being a small town. Link Page 25 Sadly clearance rate overall is shamefully low.
  12. I could be convinced that Trump or Harris will win 330 EVs. I don't see why we should believe polls. I think their margin of errors definitions are even wrong.
  13. you never know but I don't see him wanting to do that because that somewhat implies he made a mistake. I see it more of Trump saying that Leftists can't take a joke and that he loves Puerto Ricans more than anyone.
  14. Agree. Few Texas politicians like sharing a stage with Cruz. But Cruz obviously has relationships with them since he came from state govt. Greg Abbott appointed him to state solicitor general. I'm always reminded of the Al Franken quote: "I like Ted Cruz more than any of the my [Senate] colleagues, and I hate Ted Cruz."
  15. Fair amount of speculation that Cruz is the weak link in the GOP chain in terms of losing a seat. I could see other senate campaigns sending over money to help him.
  16. You know what's really interesting about Trump's 2024 campaign? Both his team and the RNC seem to have pretty much left down-ballot races hanging. No one really knows how this will play out yet, but it could totally change the playbook for how national campaigns handle these smaller races going forward. From what it looks like, most candidates were stuck fending for themselves or having to lean on their state parties for help. Here's the thing - a lot of the campaign money was getting funneled into Trump's legal defense. Plus, word is that Trump's folks and the RNC (with Lara Trump at the helm now) mostly want to funnel campaign spending through Trump's own properties. Not exactly leaving much in the pot for other candidates, right?
  17. Is eastern Oregon always trying to redraw the state maps so that they're in Idaho? no one is stopping you from moving to Idaho if that is your wish.
  18. Always remember that Hotze was the guy who convinced a private investigator to hold an AC repair guy at gunpoint in 2020 because they thought there were ballots hidden in his repair truck. For some unknown reason, I assume Ogg, the case has not gone to trial yet. Almost 4 years now. https://archive.ph/LnKv0 Hopefully Hotze is someday convicted and has his MD license suspended.
  19. I can't imagine being a middle or high school teacher right now dealing with the male students constantly saying some MAGA comments all day. I'm sure they're giggling while repeating the rally comments about Puerto Rico and Hispanic immigrants not pulling out. I know my own limitations and realize that I wouldn't make it a year without smacking the crap out of some mouthy kid.
  20. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/10/28/jpmorgan-suing-customers-over-infinite-money-glitch.html What's the Surly handle of the person driving a new Lambo back in August?
  21. I've long thought Trump's best chance is creating chaos while simultaneously retaining control of the House. There is a long line of GOP politicians who are happy to lie by saying that they can't certify because of widespread fraud, and that we need to follow the Constitution by allowing the House to vote for President. Each state gets 1 vote. The open question is whether the courts would agree.
  22. Time will tell. Wasn't it roughly ten years before Hitler finally took power after the first failed attempt?
  23. Good summary. This is why you see Kamala and the Dems doing everything possible to get people to the polls. And Trump and the GOP are trying to tell Democrats that the race is over and in some cases (VA) still trying to purge the voter rolls.
  24. Yes but I see this more as Biden demonstrating how even illegal aliens can ultimately offer important contributions to America. And that bar isn't whether they eventually become the world's wealthiest person.
  25. I've put a few Home Depot poison contraptions outside and as far as I can tell my rat problem is gone. Black box with a small opening, poison is inside. I didn't want to kill the squirrels and they didn't seem to be able to get into the traps. I also have not encountered any dead rats or dead rat smells outside.
