  1. Cori Bush went after AIPAC today in that they were the major backer of Bell. While AIPAC has been major backers of Dem primary opponents of the Squad, they've also given large amounts to other Democrats like Hakeem Jeffries.
  2. yes. and you have had ads that included an OU helmet before and after.
  3. My only comment is that someone should not look to use a life insurance policy as a inheritance upon their passing. It's a poor return on your money. Life insurance should only make sure your current dependents are cared for and/or your burial and estate can be settled. If you have a young family, a policy should be structured to replace your income and maybe slightly more. If you're older and have a spouse, you may not need any life insurance since your death may not impact the income. If you're older and single, life insurance is a waste. There used to be a life insurance commercial, maybe MetLife. It pissed me off. A older woman is helping her adult son and his family put up the groceries. The woman is talking how MetLife is making it so she can leave a little something behind to make her family's life a little more comfortable after her passing. If you want to do that, just give the premium amount to your son instead. My mom had a post-retirement policy where she ultimately paid 1-2x the payout via the premiums because she lived into her mid 80s. It was like gambling that she was going to die early into retirement to come out ahead. Weird bet.
  4. I have no idea if Elon's recent lawsuit with advertisers is legit. I assume not. However imagine the signal it sends to the existing or future advertisers. Next Elon is going to sue companies that have never advertised on X because they should be advertising and failing to do so is illegally harming X. He most likely will find a sympathetic Texas judge who will blame it on DEI.
  5. They're looking to swift boat Walz. For those that don't know in 2004, Bush's side attacked John Kerry saying that Kerry exaggerated his Vietnam war record. Even though everyone agreed that Kerry served in a war zone in Vietnam while Bush served by flying jets in SE Texas. The end result was that some believed that Kerry was a draft dodger (spoiler: he enlisted) and Bush was Rambo.
  6. There is a phenomenon that when something comes to your attention you see it everywhere. In your scenario that ad or video was going to be shown to you anyway. You wouldn't have paid attention to it except it was recently mentioned. We have 100s (1000s?) of ads in our line of sight throughout the day that we ignore.
  7. It can give an impression that they're not wasting resources/time/money on making investors happy about polished material.
  8. They look at the history of other people who like the same videos and attempt to learn what you like. I imagine they eventually determine you are similar to 100,000 other people. When those 100,000 people start to like a video, they will show it to you as well even if you've never indicated any interest.. These sites most likely know you better than anyone, including yourself. This is also why people cannot believe that others are not seeing the same videos/posts they are. It's like they're on a completely different TikTok, Instagram, X, Youtube, etc.
  9. Some reps appear to lose the reasoning on why they were elected in the first place. You can take on national or international issues but not at the expense of your local base thinking that you've forgotten them. You must be viewed negatively if you lose your primary. You can join the cool kids' table (Squad) but if you're not as secure as they are, your tenure may not last long.
  10. There must be a Tesla team who are held responsible when sales are down. How can they not just quit when they see a news story like this.
  11. I was hoping for Shapiro but I’m onboard 100% with Walz. Let’s go.
  12. Dump of a few Texas noteworthy items lately. survey that 70% of Texans support school vouchers. Perhaps Dems and rural republicans need to get somewhat onboard with Abbott to at least get something their way. Fighting the inevitable can be a losing cause for your constituents. (I’m not a fan of vouchers but can accept reality.) https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/education/article/two-thirds-texans-support-school-vouchers-new-19604424.php while I hate him, I give Lt. Patrick props that he met with the Chronicle to provide his side of the story why Texas responded the way it did with Beryl. Seems legit and he didn’t need this interview. I actually like that Texas at least says it doesn’t need FEMA for a few days. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/opinion/editorials/article/dan-patrick-beryl-fema-texas-a-m-kidd-19610240.php On the more positive front, here is a west Texas oil worker worth a follow on TikTok. Looks like his channel points out how poor of a job by the industry and railroad commission. The environment is a disaster. While the situation is negative, we need him pointing out the problems. EDIT: he’s exploring a run for RRC. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTNbLAN35/
  13. If Harris tells the Secret service that she’s choosing Walz or Shapiro, they have to give both full protection. A few weeks ago they may have pushed back saying they needed to know the candidate before offering full protection. It’s doubtful they have any push after their laughable performances protecting Trump,
  14. This is my take as well. It’s possible that Trump will escape some (all?) cases because of the SCOTUS ruling. At a minimum he can tie up his cases for long stretches with appeals. The others don’t have that. Is there a count of everyone that has gone to prison for Trump? its also key that Jenna Ellis agreed to give testimony to any jurisdiction, including federal in exchange for her immunity in AZ. She’s a govt witness now across the board for any prosecutor.
  15. Dems just need to rally behind the pick tomorrow regardless who it is.
  16. the smart money on predictit gets out as the result is coming to an end. Only the fan bois hold the course.
  17. SIAP. Heard George Conway talk on a podcast about a theory how the SCOTUS term limits could potentially be managed through Congress without an amendment. The lifetime appointment is in the Constitution so the work around is that Congress creates the position of a senior justice who sits outside of the voting 9. The lifetime appointment remains. When a justice hits 18 years, they move into senior status, and a new justice is appointed who takes over the voting duties of the senior justice. Conway thought that the senior status could not apply to the Chief Justice who could potentially go beyond 18 years. Who knows. I'm far from a Constitutional scholar but this makes sense to me.
  18. lol. Crypto then gives you a way to legally invest in crime.
  19. 100%. Shapiro is a coalition builder in a purple state. You do this by finding common ground on issues or working to a compromise. Which is exactly how you win a national election by running to the middle. If Trump/Vance want to run further to the right, don't stop them from making that mistake. Let Harris/Shapiro run from the center-left. If they lose a few from the more-extreme Left, then so be it. I'm cool with earning a few million independents at the loss of a 100K extremists. If someone is worried that Harris/Shapiro are too in bed with Israel, is that voter seriously going to run to Trump who is arm in arm with Netanyahu? There's a reason that Bibi wants Trump to win. And don't fall for the TexAgs gaslighting where they claim they can't wait for Shapiro to be chosen.
  20. Kelly's strength is that he would give some independents relief about border issues. He, and honesty Harris, would be able to talk from the standpoint of a state most impacted by our southern border immigration. Trumpists would still rather listen to Trump or Vance talk about it but Kelly has been critical of Dems' past mistakes which gives him street cred on the issue. But not going into Stephen Miller territory.
  21. MAGA already believes that the stock market is near all time lows.
  22. I'm fairly certain that I would struggle to correctly name 5 gymnasts. NBC makes most Olympic athletes' stories the same: overcoming personal tragedy or injury to take home the gold to honor the memory of <feel in the name of a recently deceased family member.>
  23. Any disclosure by Thomas means little because he has created his own disclosure rules. By which I mean that he doesn't disclose trips or gifts that he doesn't want to disclose because of a phantom practice that an unknown person told him was acceptable. Public figures like Thomas or Bob Menendez can't go away fast enough. Ridiculous that the only ongoing checks on Judicial are impeachment/conviction. I suppose Congress and the President could in theory take away their budget and salary.
  24. Never understood the point of any argument about who is the greatest of all time. It comes across like people have too much time to fill on 24-hour sports channels or social media so they create opinionated material to create engagement. Who cares if an athlete in 2024 is better than one from 1960. I also assume that athletes in 2060 will make 2024 athletes look unathletic in comparison. And in fairness to previous generations of olympic athletes, few of them could afford to return to the olympics. At some point they were tired of being poor since they were prevented from earning money on their athleticism. Now if anyone calls themselves the GOAT, they better be prepared for karma and criticism IF they fail.
