  1. Wait, what? Surely that's a troll. There's no way people like thick brisket slices, right? Of course then there's the east texas shit where they trim off the bark and fat and throw it away, so maybe there is someone nuts enough to like a 2" thick slice of brisket.
  2. After it goes over the UT Houston campus.
  3. Just wait till they go to Special Teams.
  4. He's bringing Benetton back.
  5. You can add being Harris County Judge to her work experience. And we we were pretty much all aware - it was hashed over on the CR, over and over and over.
  6. Alex, I'll take 'How badly did Exxon fuck up the Valdez spill for a $100'. ITC just following their lead.
  7. Obviously wrong - way too many men wearing hats.
  8. Teis is amazingly bad at his job. I know a fairly large donor and they said fuck it with him a few years ago and now keep their cash. He's got to have nudies of President Trauth - that's the only thing that makes any sense.
  9. It's interesting the ages we see. Our new guys run the gamut from mid 20s to I think I initiated a fellar the other day that was late 60s (and deaf as a doornail which made me want to throw shit when I should be concentrating on words words words).
  10. Awesome. We had a friend of ours who was in a bad car wreck when she was little and it messed up the growth plate in 1 leg. She would go up there about every 6 months to have another surgery, or stretching, or what not. That family is very happy the hospital exists. I'm still just a PM of a blue lodge - never have branched out. I got busier with my kids and hobbies and after my year in the east, I took about 1.5 off to decompress. The current Deputy GM is an alumni of the Masonic Home & School. I think this might be the first time an alumni has gone on to become the GM (assuming, but when was the last time they didn't make that jump) but I'm not 100% sure. Its a small group of alumni, and a much smaller group of GMs. This may be the only time it ever happens.
  11. There are a few travelling men around.
  12. My wife's family is masonic going back generations. Her grandfather handed me a signed petition one time and said I might want to look into it. I was like, you betcha, filled that son of a bitch out and when we got back to town, promptly forgot about it for a few years.
  13. Spent a summer as a pipe fitters apprentice interning at an oil refinery (my mom was in crude purchasing and they had some program where employee kids could come and intern in the summer - I guess to get us to want to work in a refinery). That is a nasty f'in place. Everything there will crush you, burn you with fire, chemically burn you, etc. Our fire crew was top notch though. They would go out to the local air force base and cross train with those guys because we made the Jet A fuel they used. But I don't think even our fire crew and the local AFB crew would be able to put out the fire they now have there.
  14. I just clicked unhide on his reply to you - and I still don't get what the point of the thread is.
  15. I'm really impressed with Haas. IIRC, they started that team from scratch and look where they are. I really hope Gene Haas is at the Nascar race in a couple of weeks so I can talk to him about F1. I'm hoping he'd rather not fly to Bahrain for that race.
  16. Yeah, that cannon and flag. They rolled out those flags against La Tech, talking about their house and stuff... La Tech went and took it 31-3.
  17. The sides are really good.
  18. That was a good podcast, Champ. I subscribed to them.. I'm always into anything food. The first one they released with the Poke guy had some production issues (way too fscking loud background) but it seems they may have gotten them ironed out. And way off topic - the Poke guy is dreaming. He waited too long to franchise that shit out, the market (as he noted) is just too saturated now. There will probably be a couple of Poke franchisors but I think it would be someone with some really deep pockets that can saturate markets ala Subway/McD etc. Not some guy that just started his first restaurant in 30 years.
  19. Just saw that. Damn. That will put a bummer on the season opener.
  20. His voice sounds like those Bad Lip Reading videos. It's really whiny. I bet it gets the crazy wife (she actually is crazy) wet.
  21. I'll give a place a couple of tries and if they suck, off the list they go. I'm not wasting money on sub par. On that note - the sides at Kent Black's in San Marcos are amazing.
  22. I had heard such great things about Lum's since some friends of ours are related to them. Meh. It was ok, but it was really nothing to write home about.
