This negotiation is laughable. A 50 game season is ridiculous. It will not be representative of the best teams. Potential huge screw job for the power teams i.e. Yankees, Dodgers, Astros. Even with expanded playoffs.
You think competitive integrity means anything compared to maximizing profits? That's cute.

To be clear, we live in a country where, in order to take a selfie
It wasn't a selfie. I doubt Trump knows how to take a selfie. Judging by how he held the bible he'd definitely turn the phone the wrong way.

Trump posing in front of an Episcopalian church and Catholic shrine for photo ops while the clergy keep telling him to GTFO. He really doesn't seem to understand how this whole thing works.
His base considers these sects to be fake Christians and he needs to head to Dallas to hang out in front of an American Jesus church with Jeffress. If his staff doesn't understand this then the general rule of thumb should be avoid any church with Social Justice doctrines.

If you don't want to mix politics and sports, quit playing the national anthem before sporting events.
We can't even get rid of God Bless America during the 7th inning stretch and that only started after 9/11. And stop putting your hand over your heart for it; it's not the national anthem.

Jesse Owens foiled Adolph Hitler's dream of Germany dominating the 1936 Olympic track events by simply being black and fast.
I think if he were Jewish and fast that it also would have worked out similarly.

So I was involved in one case where the cops hung some local guy (not so smart, long juvie record, minor drug entrepreneur - you now the type) by his wrists while they played human pinata on his ass with their batons.

Antifa or white supremacists? So hard to tell.
The idea that the looting was ever anything but opportunistic looting was pretty silly.

I have to tell you, in am intensely unconcerned about these "enthusiasm" numbers. I think it reflects an overly literal interpretation of the poll question by the respondents, and does not account for the role negative partisanship plays.
The question is "Would you say you are very enthusiastic about supporting Biden, somewhat enthusiastic, not so enthusiastic or not enthusiastic at all?" If you asked me that question, I would say "not so enthusiastic." Joe Biden was my second-to-last pick in the primaries. I would've preferred any number of other candidates. But he's the candidate we've got. I'm not enthusiastic about supporting him. I'm very "meh" about Joe Biden.
But if you asked me "would you crawl a mile across broken glass to vote against Donald Trump," then my answer is an unequivocal "yes."
I think there are a lot of people just like me. But this poll doesn't ask the right questions to figure out just how many such people there are.
Exactly. Negative enthusiasm against Hillary got Trump elected to begin with. The negative enthusiasm is strongly against Trump now.

I don't think you'd find anyone that would disagree with you. Or anyone else in public service for that matter.
Actually I think you'd have trouble finding anyone in public office that would support those punishments for cops. They either need their cooperation to help their conviction rate or they want the police union endorsement so they can campaign on being tough on crime.

I agree, he's not aiming at them. Parallax, how does it work?

Wonder if things will get more turnt up tonight in Minneapolis tonight in light of this conflicting autopsy.
Did anyone believe the first self-serving autopsy anyway? Not that this new one isn't equally compromised in motivation, but the video is a pretty strong tie-breaker.

It will help him on the margins but not enough to change the outcome.

Anyone have a passport renewal coming up? Mine expires in Jan so I checked the website today and it says to wait to apply for new or renewed passports until they return to normal operations unless it's a matter of life or death. I would think they'd be back to normal operations fairly soon but who knows. I'm not too worried yet, although some airlines want the passport expiration date to be at least 6 months beyond the travel date. I don't have any trips planned and probably won't until there's a vaccine but it's maybe something to keep in mind for others.

Interesting article: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/police-are-killing-fewer-people-in-big-cities-but-more-in-suburban-and-rural-america/
Police shootings are down in urban areas but up in suburban and rural areas.

Yeah not much happened and the resolution to Kenny's murder really fizzled out. I guess we're to think that Caroline's boss told Konstantin to kill him but I'm surprised they didn't show us more in flashback or something.
I liked it a little more than Season 2 but it has really fallen off since PWB left. I don't know how you center a show around sad Villanelle who doesn't want to kill anymore.

Lulz, Don Lemon is very concerned that Trump is not calling for calm.
Even in the alternate reality where such a thing could happen, I'm not so sure it would have much impact.

2020 Presidential Election -- Biden v Trump: Sleepy Joe vs Dopey Don [Results begin on page 409]

Everything in his entire presidency has been geared to his base. Well, that and graft.
It's as if he doesn't realize that he lost the popular vote and still needed a bump from a very unpopular opponent to eke out the EC. He just keeps doubling down on his 42% over and over and over.
