  1. Grant Brisbee and Sam Miller talked about the Nats on their podcast this week and I thought this was incredible: At the trade deadline in 22 the Nats traded Soto and Josh Bell to SD for C.J. Abrams, MacKenzie Gore, James Wood, Luke Voit, and a couple of other prospects. Through yesterday, Abrams, Gore, and Wood had combined for 8.1 WAR this year. The rest of the team has combined for 0.9. So great job on that trade but they've done fuckall else to actual build the rest of the team.
  2. No I just meant that even he couldn't take the stupid and was one of many to bail during Trump 1.
  3. What a game by Anderson. I didn't expect a CGSO but this was always going to be the tough one for Coastal. I don't think Eyanson will hold them down like this tomorrow.
  4. He made it closer than it should have been with that double clutch.
  5. John Bolton is so pissed right now that he couldn't hang on for this day.
  6. Gotta get Guillorme his ABs
  7. Going to be out. Another dumbass sticking his arm out on what would have been ball 4. Done? It's 1-0 in Game 1.
  8. shame, right after she made them take down the prop bet
  9. Sweet slide bro. What was wrong with sliding feet first and sticking on the bag like everyone used to do? Dumb bunt killed the inning anyway.
  10. Just homered down the line in RF, clanking off the scoreboard. 10-6 in the 5th, fun Wrigley game.
  11. Even after the loss yesterday, they're 5-5 in their last 10. That's better than the Padres, Giants, Pirates, Nats, Mets, the entire AL central, and the Yankees. Life comes at you fast.
  12. Was it The Natural that had two runners safe at the plate together like that? I know I've seen it in a movie.

  14. Guess this is a good thread for this. They were talking about this interview during an Astros game earlier this week.
  15. I remember as a kid the talk that Saberhagen was an odd year guy and thinking that didn't make sense and not really getting it. Looks like it was true for his time in KC at least.
  16. Hader is up to 5 wins already. Doug Jones has the franchise record for relief wins with 11 in '92. He was 11-8 with 36 saves and a 1.85 ERA. That's a ton of decisions out of the pen along with a lot of saves. 8 losses with a 1.85 ERA is impressive. Juan Agosto was 10-2 out of the pen in '88 and 9-8 in '90 on 82 appearances. That's also a shit ton of decisions and appearances.
  17. never in doubt 6 minutes short of Astros after dark Back in front of the yanquis
