  1. 92 years old, we'll let it slide.
  2. Honestly, I had forgotten how fun it is to watch them suffer in our shadow. Being in different conferences robbed me of that basic right.
  3. Yeah, I saw the film but didn't connect it to your reference. Thanks.
  4. Yeah, gingers.
  5. Can you decode this for us civilians?
  6. Beef ribs were my go-to at County Line in the 90s. They were decent, the sides were good, the place wasn't a dump, and it was just about as good as it got in Austin. Certainly better than Ruby's (Rudy's didn't exist). Maybe below House Park or a couple of east side joints, I didn't really get much of a chance to try those. Had a couple of OK plates from Sam's. What else was there w/o going out of town? Oh yeah, Logan's. That was hangover food. Bert's, that was better.
  7. Wall worthy, in my opinion.
  8. I was mainly saying that LL is way more attractive, even at her worst.
  9. No, that's where you go for WW2 talk.
  10. Yep, that's classic Little Dog Syndrome.
  11. Thanks, I didn't pick up on that. It might have been that 4th beer. Could have been the 6th, but it was probably the 4th.
  12. Wait, what? Am I misunderstanding you? Our starting pitchers have a collective ERA of 2.6, which seems pretty good. What are you saying?
  13. I don't think it could get any better for Texas baseball than to sweep our first conference series on the road (MissState), combined with a non-con win against Ole Miss, combined with A&M getting their shit pushed in at home by Alabama, but I am willing to wait and find out. I just wish we could have held on to Mike Earley.
  14. Are you a published poet? It's so beautiful!
  15. Yeah, the capacity might be there but the fans are mostly as fickle as any school's fans.
  16. I don't think Schloss will put up with that for long.
  17. Well, there you go. RISP was the answer.
  18. Someone explain to me why man on 2 doesn't go once the throw heads for 1st. (I never played infield. Can 1B get the ball over to 3rd in time?)
  19. LMAO threw him out at home

    SXSW 2025

Well, SXSW desperately tried to control non-conference bookings in the early days. During the first few years they would "prohibit" bands from playing gigs in Austin within a few weeks of their showcase. That slowly fell apart. Then they tried to keep bands from playing non-sanctioned showcases during the conference itself. That slowly fell apart. Too many big draws just told them to fuck off. So, at this point, "SXSW" showcases are typically lame and pale in comparison to the private shows going on with bigger bands at either rogue outlets or off hours. I don't think the music is going away, SXSW Music is going away because it has almost nothing to offer the average music consumer. Let's put the blame right at the (original) top -- Louis Black and Roland Swenson, two dickheads who were determined to get rich, and who pretty much did, at the expense of musicians.
  21. Dude it's a message board. We're on the same side. I just thought it was funny. And you are super duper Grade A USDA Jumbo combative (as are many of us). Chill. More games coming. Hook'em.
  22. So your hard stand based on "what the committee said yesterday" didn't hold?
  23. Do you understand why this is the most incredibly stupid argument ever? Jesus Christ I know you're a smart guy. CONFERENCES ARE DIFFERENT.
  24. One time our office pool was won by a dude's wife who picked every game by color/mascot. She admittedly knew nothing about basketball.
