  1. My first thought was Lew (Kareem). Then I got mired in a morass of Bird vs Magic (rivalry, not position), Laetnner (fuck Laetnner), Durant, Manning, god the list goes on. I do think MJ was a bit of a Clemens -- pro career outshone the college career. Interesting topic.
  2. Good read, regardless. Thanks. I'm glad Schloss doesn't get butt-hurt over mouthy gamesmanship.
  3. User name, check.
  4. But Trump doesn't care about them. He doesn't care about any American other than a couple of rich people. It is truly "Trump VS America".
  5. LOL this is how checked out I am -- I told myself "hey make sure you tune in to the game" and guess what I did? Forgot about the game. I guess I'm good luck. Should I watch or bail? We want a win or no?

Rhymes with "eye". I have no idea if that's correct in German. I don't even know why they picked that name. They tell me nothing. What was Kevin Connor doing talking about them? I'm not sure they've gotten much airplay on Sun, at least compared to KUTX.
  7. I'd say the only way he'll make it to 2030 is if he cuts out the sweets, most of the other carbs, gets regular exercise and goes on statins and BP medication.
  8. Dang, I need to watch "Diner" again.
  9. I caught the end of it last night. I can't ever figure Ringo out. He's a great drummer, but he has the most odd stage presence as a singer. I will say this -- I'm not sure I've ever seen a happier audience than the crowd during his final number ("I Get By"). Those people were rapturous, and I get it.
  10. . . . and if I recall my dynamics class correctly (always a crap shoot), the actual force equation is d(mv)/dt = m(dv/dt) + v(dm/dt). The first term is the classic F=ma, but the second term is germane to rockets, which are losing mass as they burn fuel and thus creating thrust. Or not. I also don't know how the treadmill comes into play.
  11. As I recall that was a one-day photo op.
  12. That's my lean as well. "It is a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." Or, in the native Texan "He's all hat and no cattle."
  13. His meager wiki page claims his degree is from Emerson.

I'm pretty sure Lone Star is a no-go in Austin these days. Beer guy at HEB told me they sold to Miller and they're a month or so out from production. At any rate, I'm out for today, too much work to get cleared up before Thursday.

We're planning to hit up Red River on Thursday afternoon. I'm thinking parking is a non-starter. But, my wife will be coming from her job south and I'll be doing the same from north. I'd like to meet in the middle, maybe near campus and uber down, but I'm not sure where we would park. I don't mind paying for a garage but what's available in that general area (35th to 12th, maybe Lamar to Speedway)?
  18. I so want to say something here but discretion prevents it . . . ha!, discretion. On surly. What a world.
  19. They're big on the "hot dish" in the upper midwest. We were too far south, but my mom abused the hell out of the crockpot (and poorly I might add).
