  1. Not disputing your numbers, but shouldn't the first period be 1/21/17-1/20/21?
  2. It's astonishing how often you get things completely wrong. Whose sock are you?
  3. I'm no fan of the way Beard comported himself as head coach but he is a UT grad and I highly doubt he'd want to coach at A&M. He'll have plenty of options going forward.
  4. I've spent significant time at both, I could not disagree more. Destin is a low-budget cruise ship docked for repairs, it is truly a garbage destination.
  5. I'm starting to see more houses pop up for sale in my neighborhood. Some of that is surely seasonal, but I'm wondering if people are also assuming these rates are pretty much set in stone for a while.
  6. Sometimes I speak it. Other times, not so much.
  7. You think all 3 of your kids fit the same educational mold? Both of mine are at UT, but one is a far better fit than the other. I just couldn't squash the dream for that one when it became available.
  8. My man love for Sark continues to grow. That guy stands a real good chance of becoming the next dominant college coach aka Saban or Meyer or (lol) Bowden.
  9. Yeah, maybe the picnic idea isn't so good, but you could wing it. May is our rainiest month.
  10. Are they acute angles, or obtuse (like you)? Or maybe just right?
  11. By my recollection, most ROT Rally fatalties were out near Decker Lane, but I give that one dude a lot of credit for the Mopac flyover move. Rolling out in your new leather vest on your new $30K bike and taking off Friday from your low/mid-level white collar job is serious business.
  12. Why was the post-it note invented when it was? Why was the intermittent windshield wiper invented when it was? Sometimes it just takes a creative mind to imagine improvements. Most engineers are remarkably uncreative, and they tend to solve problems with tried and true techniques. They are often very risk averse, and fear being wrong. That is antithetical to developing breakthroughs -- one can't be afraid of being wrong.
  13. Yeah, I think "Wildflowers" is Petty's best. The songs are so good, the recording is so good, and the performances are so good. Love me some Steve Ferrone on drums in particular.
  14. It's my understanding that most broken bats occur when the ball strikes too close to the handle or too close to the end of the bat. Somewhere in between would then be "ideal". If the mass is concentrated there, then for the same weight bat the hitter's swing speed can increase and the ball is striking the heaviest portion of the bat. I don't think it's magic, it's physics/engineering and I am not surprised it helps.
  15. Yeah, if the weather cooperates I'd do the order ahead method and find a spot on campus for a picnic (not sure if that's allowed), or maybe the Capitol grounds or Waterloo Park. When is orientation?
  16. Mass moment of inertia is what you are alluding to, and for equal mass it's lower when that mass is biased inward. No free lunch. I think the advantage is mostly related to the ball hitting the heaviest part of the bat.
  17. Yeah, my daughter got to play that festival a year or so ago and commented about how chill it was.
  18. The coaching change is the ultimate reset. We're probably looking at basketball and baseball, so it's a squared effect. I might be a little giddy in anticipation.
  19. All I know is "Dallas" was one of the most moral shows in television history.
  20. They pretty much killed it by getting outpaced by other states in incentives.
  21. I'd bet a mortgage payment that woman has screamed "Jesus God, fuck me harder" more than once in her life.
  22. Up to 5", maybe. I'll have to saw them down to length before splitting.
  23. I think it's dead. There are references to an event May 5-7 at Austin Speed Shop, but that's Monday-Wednesday, so . . . no?
