  1. I literally (LITERALLY) didn't say that. You don't read so good.
  2. That's funny, I saw one of those beagles flag a guy when were in line at customs (Frankfurt -> DFW). Agent asks the passenger about undeclared food, guy denies it, agent says "sir the dog is telling me you have food in your carryon" and the guy finally capitulates to smuggling grapefruit into Texas from Germany. That's a special kind of stupid.
  3. No hypocrisy whatsoever. I'm talking about Donald Trump and his attempt at a coup. Joe Biden did not attempt a coup. Try to keep up, MAGA.
  4. This discussion is about Donald Trump, not Joe Biden, but if you want to take a crack on Biden's work ethic as compared to Trump's, then you should probably consider Trump's obsession with playing golf 24/7. Jesus, you people are really dim.
  5. Dumb question, as I don't partake: if you try to fly with weed product from a state where that product is legal, does "security" care if you're landing in a state where it's not legal? Do they screen on that basis?
  6. Literally? Interesting as well.
  7. I can't get over the fact that Trump seems to be pulling this off given his obviously limited intellect, which is likely compromised further by age. I guess I always thought dictators were evil geniuses, but in reality it seems far more important for them to be able to garner the blind support of a significant fraction of the people and weaponize their fears. That doesn't take smarts per se, it takes audacity and "charisma" (for lack of a better word). Musk is no dummy, but is as much of an opportunist as he is a crafty thinker. He seems to be Trump's Hermann Göring. All dictators need a right hand man who will actually do the work. Here we are.
  8. That's an A&M 9 (max score with only 2 legs).
  9. Both my kids live in dumpy rental houses just north of Crown & Anchor. My son, whose acceptance to UT I still question, somehow managed to rent a house next door to his big sister without knowing she lives there. I cannot think of a more ideal living situation. It just screams "independent undergrad housing". They can help each other out, go to each other's parties, the price isn't insane (~ $800 each per month) and they're not bound by Greek or dorm (campus or otherwise) bullshit. (Both of them lived in west campus dorms prior. Man, take the dumpy rental house.)
  10. So when does an employee who is laid off hit the unemployment calc? When they file?
  11. I remember when everyone thought George Hendrick was some kind of fashion freak for wearing pants to his ankles.
  12. Plus, it's a Honda, so it won't need much in the way of repair for at least 100K miles.
  13. For the most part I couldn't stand The White Stripes and his dime store approach to gear and tone, but I had definitely heard some pretty hooky songs from him over the years. Then my daughter's band opened for him last November, and we got to watch from stage right maybe 10 feet away. Holy shit he has a monster band full of great players, and it was really enjoyable. Changed my mind about Jack for sure.
  14. I'd rather take my chance on a guy who consistently lands great seeds than one who seemingly does more with less. Izzo is the near-unicorn, but I suspect a lot of that has to do with his roster construction (lunchpail types) and early schedule strength. Hell, we beat MSU a few times early in the season.
  15. When people are arguing that (for instance) a Sweet 16 run should earn RT another year it becomes kinda germane.
  16. Look at RT's results, limited as they are. His run to the Elite Eight with Beard's roster is all that's bumping him up as far as he is.
  17. Beard at 12. Fuck me. Tommy Lloyd is one spot above Shaka. Oof.
  18. I'm trying to think of coaches who routinely outperform their seeds in the tournament. Tom Izzo is the first to come to mind. Other than him, who? That seems to be what some are expecting out of Rodney Terry. "Sure, the regular season sucked, but he made the Sweet 16 as a 9 seed! Woo!"
  19. Yep, we're getting some flurries near 2222/360.

Sure, I was going on memory. I'm nowhere near as immersed in this stuff as you are. So your beef (heh) with their dish is the use of cream instead of milk?

And if Marcella Hazan tells me I can use milk, I can use milk: Marcella Hazan's bolognese recipe from Food & Wine
  22. Thanks for the heads up on Stevia, I've been doing my best to deal with the multiple firehoses of information (much self-inflicted).
  23. My wife exclusively uses Stevia. She says it's indistinguishable from sugar. I don't have a sweet tooth -- at all - so I'm not doing a taste test.
  24. Well, there's still the Waco Trail of Christmas Lights in competition.
