  1. I don't even think "wrong" is the correct way to characterize this. Smart people using their high levels of education and experience to try to wrap their heads around controlling the type of novel disease outbreak they were facing might take some actions that ultimately don't have added value, or perhaps even cause some low level harm, but it all has to be weighed against the lives saved, and that calculus is mighty fucking clear. The word "wrong" carries baggage, as if they made a math error or similar. That's not what happened.
  2. The only known covid infection I've suffered I caught in . . . Oklahoma.
  3. Did round 2 at Moonshine a week or so ago. That is some tasty CFS, and the jalapeno gravy puts it over the top. Highly recommended.
  4. Sounds great to me, looking forward to hearing the studio drum tracks on top.
  5. Why would we want to play Big 12 teams? That's absurd.
  6. Great song and a GREAT band. I met them at their SXSW showcase when they had just gotten signed, and we hung out awhile upstairs at the club (somewhere on 6th, maybe Jelly Club?) and played foosball. Michael Ward (RIP, F diabetes) was a terrific guitar player and a super nice guy. I would run into him often over the years when The Wallflowers would come to Austin and he always remembered my name. Half the time I couldn't remember his. I really dig that main guitar hook. Nice rhythmic turn over the beat.
  7. Hmmm . . .
  8. They even got the whiteys to clap on 2 and 4! That was cool.
  9. You're coming at this from the perspective of someone who isn't gullible and who has an IQ well above average. "Great communicator" merely demands the speaker get the idea across to the audience, and you are most certainly not the audience.
  10. Never mind the possiblity of the wrong people getting laid off. (Ahem.)
  11. Is that like a Sarkoma?
  12. Dogtism. Fantastic.
  13. So how does that contradict what @BrickHorn said? I agree. When I helped take a company public there were all kinds of "how do you look in stripes" warnings, but I certainly don't ever recall being informed about any legal requirement to place shareholder value above all else.
  14. Sounds eerily similar to the look at me, do something for me bitchass white American male. If the shoe fits . . . .
  15. "Game theory" explains a lot in the aggregrate, and can drill down to some degree (home/away, etc.). It does not account for a specific coach's tendencies or on-field talent, etc.
  16. I have no idea if Arch has an injury, but Xavier Worthy played half a season or more with a broken thumb (by recollection) and to my knowledge it wasn't known outside of inner team circles.
  17. Freshman. FRESHMAN.
  18. I saw the article, but I don't know the photographer. I guess they're well known? Not my world for sure.

Looks like it's time for a BLT shootout.
  20. It was 27 years ago, but Ricky won the Heisman despite KState holding him to 43 yards on 25 carries. I couldn't care less about the Heisman, it's a shit award given what they did to Vince & Colt, but one need not have a perfect season to win it.
  21. Did he say he was receiving offers for the land value or the business? I would assume the former, most investors would rather build condos than run a BBQ joint, but you never know.
  22. Not my point, but you knew that.
  23. This prompts a question: which defense played better yesterday?
  24. LMAO at Ketch. Sark isn't about to give your dumb ass a blueprint for his offense. It's hard enough to keep opposing coaches from cracking the code. I'm not saying Sark is infallible, but if his offense were so simple Ketch could define it then we would be royally fucked.
