  1. I'm not deep into this, but I don't understand how it could happen. It seems ATC provided guidance, the helicopter pilot acknowledged the jet, the latest videos show them essentially converging on each other, maybe not head on but close enough, and yet there was no evasive action on the part of either aircraft? Just tragic.

He's 73 years old. How much more does he have in the tank? Counterpoint:

Yes she is. Many have known this pretty much from the jump. Not a great songwriter, but she can definitely sing.
  4. Shit. NOW you tell me.

Welp, I missed it. Any re-broadcast scheduled?
  6. Same. I have no way to corroborate, my kids haven't said anything.
  7. Against my better judgment, with no reason other than intuition, I met my wife at SLAB (183/Burnet) for their 1/2-price pork rib special tonight, since she was in the area having coffee with a friend. Don't do that. Yikes. I don't know how you overcook ribs, but they did it.
  8. OK, regarding my buddy's Martin 0-15. What luthier would be best to evaluate and possibly work on this thing? Austin is NOT a restriction. Gruhn in Nashville? Other? I don't think he considers this an investment, he plays and it has a lot of sentimental value, so he'll want it to be the best it can be.
  9. You didn't hear that because (a) Walter Cronkite and other news outlets were loathe to fan flames and (b) your family's social circle most likely didn't cross over with those who felt much differently.
  10. Go drive around west campus. Between the Lambos, the scooters, and the driverless cars you are taking your well-being in your hands.
  11. I lived in Chicago on and off in my younger days. First moved there in 1982. I still travel there every once in awhile on business. I think I-90 and I-94 have been "under construction" for decades.
  12. Nope. (Shellfish allergy.)
  13. Well, it was clear the guy knew how to build a program and succeed. You can't blame Texas fans for being pissy that the dumbass threw it all away.
  14. Great defense. "You can't prove that."
  15. Lambo? They'll probably "lease" him a Honda-powered F1 car. UTPD will boot it on gameday.
  16. Looks like ~ 1.3" in near west Austin, clearing up. I'll take it.
  17. Well, he played football for Cornell and Baylor, which is odd to say the least.
  18. What the fuck? He was a statue!
  19. LMAO. $1.3B. That aside, she's self-made, and she isn't part of the government pulling strings aka Elon Musk, who is worth vastly more, but hey you do you. Good luck with the kidneys.
  20. Recently I heard 6 months, but that could be inaccurate. I'll call him. (I can't believe he's still in business, I first took him a guitar in the early 90s.)
  21. Who's the best luthier for vintage acoustics in Austin? All I know is Mark Erlewine and he's historically slammed.
  22. Well, FSU may be historically inept in Omaha, but they're better than A&M. Aim high(er)!
  23. Every time I hear that song I think it's Lyle Lovett singing over a disco track.
