  1. Weaver and Kaluma are super encouraging. I'm not sold on Shedrick.
  2. One of my favorite recording sessions I've ever worked on was when she and Champ Hood rolled into my little studio just south of Continental Club after a Hippie Hour, ostensibly to lay down some backing tracks on a record I was engineering. They were buzzed, to put it kindly. It took a while, but it was so much fun, as they were both charming and super talented. I had never met either of them but they treated me like an old friend. Smart, gifted, generous people.
  3. In case you're actually interested, he's still listed with the Clippers:
  4. Just a common misspelling of "statute", I thought I was being funny. Kinda like "mute point".

    RIP Toni Price

Any Austin music fan in the 90s knew of Toni's music, and many of you probably crossed paths with me at a random Tuesday "Hippie Hour" where she would throw down with Casper, Scrappy Jud, Rich and others. She has passed away from complications related to a brain aneurysm. Fair sailing, Toni, your lovely voice and songs brought a lot of happiness to so many people.
  6. If you had gone to Conan's you could have bought a small mountain of weed.
  7. No, but the CNC mill at work does. Hmmm.
  8. I actually like that, a lot. I remember when it was (re?) released maybe 8-10 years ago and thought it was perfect for me. Then I remembered I could build my own Frankenstein guitar for less that would be far better, so I stopped thinking about it.
  9. OK, but that's not what GE Smith is playing in that photo. I'm not familiar with that body shape. It's like a Tele with an SG upper horn.
  10. What's the actual model name of a double cutaway (non Strat) Fender?
  11. "Visibility" works for me. Hey to me as a college freshman.
  12. Yeah, I lived in a small town but we had a ~ 20 acre undeveloped lot maybe 0.25 miles away. We would ride our dirt bikes on city streets back and forth to that lot multiple times per day. Cops didn't even care.
  13. LOL $46,750 is a little too fine a point, and then $125 for shipping? I'll give you $46,650 and you have to pay for shipping. Deal?"
  14. He has handled a couple of small roof repairs for me, with professionalism and at a ridiculously low cost.
  15. Yeah, it was rough. Put things in perspective.
  16. Ugh. I was at a soccer match next to Old Settler's in Round Rock when a kid got run over and killed. We were probably 1/4 mile away, but could see the whole first responder action. It was so depressing. We're watching our kids run around and kicking a ball, and a parent nearby was trying to process the death of their toddler.
  17. I get it, that's part of the rationale for LED light bulbs, but I don't use my oven enough to make a big impact. People talk about it heating up the kitchen, yet I've never really noticed it. I guess there is some effect.
  18. The average electric oven consumes $0.40 per hour. If that's an economic driver for you, then you might want to downsize and move to a cheaper neighborhood.
