  1. This is a loser of a negligent entrustment claim, but it’s not what’s wrong with America. What’s wrong with America is that this lawsuit, which cost the defendant nothing but minor inconvenience, got more attention than the death of this 42-year-old husband and father whose only crime was working for a living at an apparently understaffed/undertrained place of employment. This lawsuit will be used, as usual, to spread the myth of frivolous lawsuits filling our courthouses while the reality is that it’s the insurance companies filling our courthouses with frivolous defenses and lowball offers on legitimate claims. Not defending the lawsuit. It’s weak. It will be lucky to survive a No-Evidence MSJ and even luckier to ever result in a judgment for the plaintiff. All the costs associated with it will be paid by either the plaintiff that filed it, who buried a loved one as a result of someone else’s negligence, or the defendant’s insurer, who profits massively off its premiums and investments and won’t feel one bit of pinch from this case, win or lose. That’s what courthouses are for, letting juries pick the winners and losers. If you were more bothered by the lawsuit than the loss of life, count yourself amongst the insurance industry’s sheep. You’ve been distracted and played. You won’t know it until you’re in front of a lawyer being advised as to why your own seemingly valid claim for your own losses to yourself or family have no value and will not be properly compensated due to the same tort reform you supported. 2. The first 2 were on the house.
  3. Well, he's not currently in Travis County or Jefferson County jail.
  4. The one hike I kind of have my heart set on is Delta Lake. Not sure my kids will be up to the task or not though. Their hiking experience thus far is mostly around central Texas and about half the length of that one.
  5. What are some things you wish you'd packed for this trip that you didn't? Or that you're glad you packed and would recommend others not forget? Bear spray is one. Binoculaurs is another. What else? Gonna get some hiking boots for the wife and kids, and I'll make them wear them in a bit before the trip. Quality flash lights. Bug spray. Rain coats. What am I forgetting?
  6. Bunch of google lawyers on the wrong code and section. Try Texas Penal Code 38.04. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. So were the fleeing and arrest today? Or was the fleeing a couple weeks ago back when he was suspended for violating team rules and the arrest just finally happened?
  8. If it was a felony he was probably driving.
  9. As a matter of fact, yes. It was the 10th grade. In 11th grade he played 8 games, the last of which was only about 15 months ago.

  11. I appreciate that advice! Definitely sounds like we should not try touring the park in an RV. Looks like we’re going to do a guided trip one day in each park and rent a jeep for the days we’ll be on our own. We’d only have the RV in the park on the day we transfer campgrounds from West Yellowstone to Jackson. I’d really rather make this trip about YP/GT and not the Moab or Zion areas though. If we enjoy this RV experience, we’ll do a Grand Canyon/Zion one another year(s). And I’d rather do Moab on a mountain bike on a boys trip. How bad is the drive from SLC? Google and Apple say 4.5 hours. I wouldn’t mind that, especially driving with mountain scenery, even in traffic. The guided tours we’re looking at doing are from these guys: http:// https://www.adventuretoursofyellowstone.com http:// https://www.jhecotouradventures.com Would love to hear some more excursion ideas though! 12. Just making my way through this thread. Thinking abut planning a quick RV trip this July. 5 nights. We’d fly into Salt Lake City, rent a 32’ RV that would be delivered to us at the airport, and then we’d drive up to West Yellowstone. Stay one night there, one night at Fishing Bridge and then drive down to Headwaters just inside Grand Teton NP for a night. Then two nights at The Virginian in Jackson before heading back. I figure 6 days, 5 nights in a RV with a 7 and 8 year old is plenty for my wife and me. We’ve never done this. In addition to that part of the trip, we’d spend sometime with friends in Park City. We talked about extending the trip more after that with a leg into Zion or maybe Moab, but we’re leaning against that now. The big question I have is if it will be okay driving a 32’ RV around these parks. Will I be able to get around and park at the visitor centers or trailheads? I have experience driving big vehicles from towing boats, so I’m comfortable driving. Just worried about parking space. Am I better off parking the RV and renting a car? If we did it that way, we'd be unable to stay in the parks due to availability and would have to keep the RV parked in West Yellowstone and/or Jackson and then see about renting a Jeep or something from there. 14. If they’re scanning license plates to see who has been driving thru legal states, they’re going to run into a problem now that Texas is surrounded by a bunch of legal states. As for flying from Denver, it’s against airport rules to possess marijuana at the Denver airport. If they catch you with a small quantity they will make you throw it away or leave. If they catch you with a large quantity they will either turn you over to federal authorities or the feds will turn you over to your destination city. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/man-takes-sacramento-austin-flight-with-43-lbs-of-marijuana/1710559543/ And as you see in the link, there are drug dogs, but not as many and they are looking for large quantities. A dog may alert on your bag, but if they open it and don’t see a briefcase full of bricks they probably don’t care. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Even if you’re not a golf fan, it’s awesome. Great scene, perfect weather, beautiful course, even more beautiful women. One of the best events of the year. It’s doesn’t hurt that a Horn took home the championship. Hopefully Arch was in the clubhouse when Scheffler walked in and whole place started signing The Eyes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. The widow lost her suit to take custody of the killer’s kids. I don’t think she ever had any standing in the first place, but I don’t do family law. Sucks for these kids though. If I was one of them, I’d end up killing that prick in his sleep and never speak to my mother again. https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/judge-dismisses-family-law-case-of-children-whose-father-was-shot-killed-on-texas-front-porch-during-argument-over-custody/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. True. But if you're looking on 247, they have a toggle where you can choose 'overall' on the class rank and it will calculate the recruiting class and transfer class together. Our sole transfer, QE, pushes our class from #4 to #5 when you do.
