  1. I always love flying into Schiphol in April.
  2. It’s been pretty well covered in this thread Investing in a franchise
  3. I did some research and ended up on the messermeister four piece set. They’ve been sitting in my Amazon cart ever since so I can’t offer you any kind of outcome. I’m currently overseas for work. Give me a month and I’ll let you know. Messermeister Avanta 4-Piece 5 Fine Edge Steak Knife Set, Pakkawood Ha...Amazon link
  4. Most safe - Yotta savings account. I’m storing my cash here now after trying it out. It’s getting better yield than a high yield online savings account. less safe - bond funds. There’s A whole world of them out there. VTEB doesn’t seem like a terrible choice especially given its tax exempt. you can pretty go all the way out the yield ladder to HYG or JNK if you like. If you wanted to get fancy and get a little more juice you could park a little in each tranche of risk. There’s some PIMCO CEFs Ive been eyeing for a while too but I never pulled the trigger on em yet. I’m in the process of selling a house too and about to have the same issue here in a month or so.
  5. I agree. Good week. I’m gonna dump in a bunch of my high yield savings account money as Yotta is providing a higher return. It’ll probably be next week before those show up.
  6. How do you eat those cranes?
  7. Yea that lump is turning into a full on mound
  8. I can see from my perspective it will smooth out my weekly results. I’ll kick a few K more in soon. So far this is beating the .6 I’m getting from my high yield online savings.
  9. An I confused? What does hooking onto a Nilgai mean. It got caught up in his landing gear??
  10. I’m making weekly deposits so I’ll just toss the tix into the pool every week. Not too worried about withdrawals.
  11. Maybe you guys have never been to the heavy oil fields in San Joaquin valley. We are doing the exact same shit in California boys.
  12. Well you need to take into the account the discount between WTI to western Canada select. More export capacity means a lower discount. The below interactive chart shows how bad it can get sometimes ($40+ difference). https://economicdashboard.alberta.ca/OilPrice
  13. Yea. That was definitely the other one I had my eyes on. It’s pretty much ole reliable as far as I can tell.
  14. Damn. All the snow is in PNW and BC looks like. Sunshine in banff area has a good base too. I was reading this is pretty typical for La Niña years.
  15. I’m looking into picking up my first hunting rifle and I don’t want to get too exotic with the cartridge. Best cartridge for Rocky Mountain whitetail muleys and potentially Elk? I’m thinking 7mm mag after doing some research.
  16. Check the snow report man. It looks like it could be pretty thin there.
  17. I’ve flown International and domestic business in august, October, and November. It depends on the airline but it’s definitely less of an experience than it used to be. I’ve still been getting cocktails on delta international but its airplane bottles not the pours from Fifths. I flew Turkish international though and they only had wine in the 187 ml servings. Dinner was still good but also a little more congested with all the plastic coverings and bullshit.
  18. Do you know of a good resource for these issues as far as California goes? I’m selling a house in California to a friend of mine who’s been renting from me for a few years and we’re trying to go down this path as well. I found this resource for the sales contract and disclosures but I don’t see anything about timing and dates? https://eforms.com/purchase-agreements/ca/
  19. Maybe they just pissed in his coke.
  20. Same. I’m just letting it slowly accumulate some weekly deposits for potential future fun money.
  21. I’m about ten years in and I guess one thing I will say about this industry. It pays well but it’s bumpy as hell. You better be prepared for some instability. Always keep a good amount of cash on hand as an emergency fund. I do think the death of oil and gas is extremely overblown, but at the same time the growth prospects may not be what they used to be. Also you better be prepared to deal with a lot of bureaucracy and politics at the majors. That being said I do like my job and I’m getting paid more than I ever thought I would be, so there is that! I’m just stashing away as much as possible, hopefully I can retire early.
  22. Skiing on New Years is always a giant clusterfuck.
  23. That thing looks like it could put some lead down range in a hurry.
  24. I think there was a bit of both sorts of landings. The guy that went down hard though was definitely in a pod / shell so he must have been landing on tires. One thing about California though there’s a fair bit more terrain relief and wind / turbulence, standing updrafts over hills etc that may make it a little more complicated than Texas.
  25. That’s a hell of a gift. Sounds badass.
