  1. Anyone done Bariloche before? Thinking of planning a guys ski trip for late July / Early August. My buddy has platinum elite ambassador status with Marriott so we were thinking of booking at the Marriott property there and then heading up to Cerro Catedrale for some time on the slopes. Would be interested in hearing from anyone who’s been that way. How was it, where did you stay, how did you manage transportation, etc.
  2. Hmmm. Yea the Sierra does get pretty windy. Bummer man.
  3. Mammoth just announced 12-18”. You should be in for a good early season powder day Holla!! That’s something to give thanks for.
  4. Ummm yess this sounds perfect hahaha. I am definitely going to do that. Thanks for the recommendation.
  5. Right, Union station not union square! I loved the location and the views, very excited to move in down there and just in time for snowboarding season.
  6. I checked out cherry creek, golden triangle, downtown, and LoHi. Ended up getting a place a block from union square. Pretty stoked on it.
  7. the chicken was raped. Completely unacceptable.
  8. Fuck beagles. They are hunting dogs not pets.
  9. When I was working in California in 2016 Monterey county passed an initiative banning wastewater injection, which essentially would have shut down all oilfield production operations in the county since the WOR is so high on the fields out there. The oil company lawyers got to work and the decision ended up getting reversed. I imagine the same would happen in Colorado after legal challenges. https://www.thecalifornian.com/story/news/2018/01/02/judge-issues-ruling-measure-z/998276001/
  10. Jeeze man that’s tough. Thoughts and Prayers man.
  11. So I’ve been kicking around the idea of moving to Denver and I want to be central in the best spot to live in a walkable nice area with top restaurants and bars, basically the best spot to meet fine young professional women. I’m a 31 year old single well paid engineer. From what I’ve been able to gather Lower Highland is the best neighborhood in the city for this?
  12. Any early season snow forecasts popping up?? I wanna see how things are looking.
  13. In 2016 I was considering getting an mba to make a career change. Except I realized I already was making what the average Stanford grad does. Now in 2018 I’m making approximately double that. BS mech E MS petroleum E.
  14. I would say that technical / science masters are still worth the money if you’re STEM inclined. Pretty funny though when I went to my engineering MS graduation ceremony I was one of like five people out of 800 or so with a Caucasian background the rest were Indian or Asian (mostly Chinese). This was at USC Los Angeles.
  15. From wanaka New Zealand, FIGHT!!!
  16. Damn very interesting. Next time I’m at work for 28 days sounds like I have some serious planning to do. I’m super stoked on knocking out some European snowboarding bucket list destinations.
  17. Ahhh perfect thanks Dago. I knew you have been going to the alps for a while so glad you chimed in. I didn’t realize I would need a car for Chamonix, good to know though. I think doing grand montets is definitely something I’m going to look into.
  18. Currently I work a 28 day rotation, I work 28 days at a time and 28 off. I also get free travel to wherever i want on days off. I have February off and I’m thinking of doing a full on two weeks in the alps. I wanna hit Chamonix for sure and do a guided ski day down Mont Blanc off piste. My little sister is moving to Paris so I am planning to visit her in the beginning so I will likely start off from Paris into Chamonix but then I’d like to see a few other resorts, maybe in Switzerland or Austria? Any other must-do experiences while I’m in the alps? I’m an expert snowboarder and I love off piste, powder, and tree runs.
  19. Yea for sure. I’m planning on driving around south isle for two weeks, gonna get some snowboarding in and check out some of the other outdoors stuff.
  20. Yessir. I am working over there on a 28/28 rotational gig. It’s pretty legit, I haven’t been back to the states since May. This time off I’ll be one week in Europe then three weeks in Australia / New Zealand.
  21. Hahaha. I work in Kazakhstan and these guys take this sort of shit very seriously. In March I was out there for the annual new year celebration, Nauryz. They had a best yurt contest and you could go from yurt to yurt and experience hospitality such as camels milk, horse sausage, fermented horse milk, and traditional music and dance. Really it was quite fun.
  22. Hahaha. Thanks guys for all the information. I’ll definitely check out Poechenellekelder I wouldn’t have even found that otherwise, damn what a name. Looking forward to relaxing, this will be the start of 35 days off for me after 35 days of straight work.
  23. I’ve got 4 days in Brussels an two days in Bruges with no real plans made. I’m staying in the city center of both. Considering a day trip to Antwerp to meet up with a work colleague and I got a little Portuguese chica I’m meeting up with in Brussels so that will be fun. Any good date spot recommendations for Brussels would be appreciated. Any must see things or recommendations for restaurants and beer bars? In Brussels I plan on hitting Delirium and La Mort Subite and in Bruges I’ll be hitting up De Halve Maan but aside from that I’m all ears.
  24. This feels like the wrong time in the market cycle to be buying rental houses but hey if you can find the right price/rent combination I guess no reason not to.
