  1. You had me with the stream pics but that last one is the piece de resistance.
  2. Once you go ventilated seats I can’t imagine having to go back. Especially down here in the south.
  3. Another layer is that france makes a large amount of their domestic power from nuclear energy. Niger is a former French colony and exports a lot of uranium to france. Kazakhstan and Russia are some of the other major suppliers of uranium. So in essence this is an extension of the energy war Putin is trying to play.
  4. Quick look over the specs, seems like the GX would be a better buy given the overlap between the two.
  5. The new Land Cruiser is a Land Cruiser Prado, it’s a smaller version sold overseas. We had a shit pile of them for rolling around in the oilfield when I worked in Kazakhstan. Came with a five speed manual and a turbo diesel. Indestructible naturally.
  6. I’ve used some higher end rods and some cheaper rods and the lesser rods feel super clunky and rigid when I borrow someone’s, like I’m casting with a log.
  7. Hardy shadow 5 wt and a $200ish reel would keep you in business for a long time as you grow your skills. I always liked these guys for gear reviews. https://www.yellowstoneangler.com/gear-review/
  8. When I was rotating to Kazakhstanwe stopped flying over Ukraine after they shot down MH317. We started flying north to Moscow then west over to Amsterdam. Then once russia invaded in 22 we stopped flying over russia and went south along the Black Sea over Turkey then through Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, then north up the Caspian.
  9. I spent five years in Kazakhstan. That lack of emotion is very Russian in nature.
  10. Damn man that’s awesome. Looks really good. Lots of icing on the cake
  11. At my company, and it’s a big one, there’s no penalties for SWA. I’ve used it multiple times and each time it was pretty damn obvious that someone was doing something pretty stupid that could get themselves or others hurt or killed.
  12. Which portion of the green? Above flaming gorge? Or below it.
  13. I didn’t realize it until somewhat recently but I learned that herdez is a subsidiary of hormel foods. It kind of took the magic away for me. The salsa is still pretty damn good though.
  14. The last big winter there in spring 17 I was crushing corn snow off the top double black diamonds in June wearing shorts and a long sleeve. Was actually nearly just as good as powder.
  15. Yea they’re shipping it through the Caspian up to Astrakhan.
  16. I just bought a P365XL. What holsters do y’all recommend for IWB?
  17. I’m gonna take a crack at the foolproof pan pizza tonight. The no knead dough has been sitting since 8 pm last night.
  18. Damn. I camped at both El Rancho Cima and Strake growing up. el rancho always flooded like a motherfucker so I guess I’m not surprised to hear it was blown out by floods. I remember camping there and having about an inch of water in my tent before our troop called it quits and pulled out for the weekend on Saturday morning. Did merit badge summer camp at Strake and weekend camped there a few other times. I think the summer camp was called trail to eagle. Sad times. The scouts seem to be pretty fucked too with their funding. Heard they had to mortgage Philmont.
  19. Correct. I sat next to a U.S. army officer in business on the way home from Amsterdam. I was headed home from work in Kazakhstan. He was headed home from Ukraine. We got to talking over quite a few scotches and our shared experiences in former Soviet bloc countries. Bottom line is We have had a healthy contingent there for some time advising and training.
  20. Second video shows earthquake lightning. A strange phenomena during earthquakes where lightning is seen even in clear skies.
