  1. I like non-traditional Christmas songs
  2. You know what they have plenty of?
  3. Judd Apatow’s Funny People. Love the first half or so which, while narratively isn’t about Adam Sandler’s character dealing with and battling his diagnosis really focuses on the various stand up comedians in it and with all of the cameos. The latter half of the movie where he visits and pursues Leslie Mann’a character cormpletly shifts gears and feels like a different movie.
  4. See also Rule # 3 as handed down to us by the immortal cinema classic Teen Wolf:
  5. On a somewhat related Christmas Eve note, from watching a lot of Christmas episodes of old 70s and 80s sitcoms over the years, I’m always fascinated that they have the main characters buying a Christmas tree to put up and decorate…on Christmas Eve
  6. Absolutely agree. Double cringe when aggy uses it as I always read it to imply that they are SO familiar with national championships that they have to shorten the phrase to save time.
  7. This is how I look at it these days. Remember last season when we wished they made a bowl game just so the players could get more practices in? Well, unless we are playing in NY6 or playoff games (and especially as the playoff field expands) we really should just be looking at the other bowl games as what they really are - exhibition games with extra practices to get next year’s squad that much more ready.
  8. Lethal Weapon (i would submit that it is actually more Christmasy than Die Hard) Rocky IV The Ref and Trading Places ("bad ass" here being funny) if you wanna get weird with Christmas-adjacent movies: Less than Zero Black Christmas (somehow the same director as A Christmas Story and Porky's)
  9. You also need to cut back on the synthesizers and video robots
  10. They have a gentlemens’ agreement to that effect…or say they want desperately to believe
