Not by putting my knee in the middle of their back. When their wrists and ankles are cuffed, they are effectively controlled and detained.  What are they going to do, the worm?

Ha I’m glad you’re so confident in that equipment and the individual just saying, “cool, you guys got me. I’m done now.”

You’re expecting a rational response from an individual incapable of rational thought. How do you think you’re getting those cuffs on? You think it’s gonna happen with compliance?

How about get your knee and all of your fucking body weight off of their back so they can fucking breathe?

The individual that died in my custody did so handcuffed and sitting upright on a curb. Never once had to pin them to them ground but if I had to, I would have. It doesn’t take all of your body weight and they breathe just fine.

How would you gain control of someone that has no intentions of being controlled?

    It's too hard to solve.

He goes on in another tweet to talk about mental health, blah, blah, blah.

If a Muslim had walked into that Walmart with a vest and killed 20 people I don’t think he’d be concerned about his mental health or what video games he was playing.

where is constant?  i wonder if he knows these guys.

I’m right here. I don’t necessarily feel obligated to jump into every thread that is police related. I know these guys about as well as you know Todd from accounting or wherever. I’ve seen em around but don’t know them. I’m not going to comment on this incident being that it’s still an ongoing civil matter.

I will say I’ve personally been in a very similar situation. It still haunts me to this day. And even though I was cleared criminally, and in a civil manner, I’m still bothered by it. The individual died with a body temperature of 108 and a heart rate close to 200, if I remember correctly.

    Research Excited Delirium. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3088378/

Watch youtube videos with cases of it. Look at the symptoms and the causes.

This situation is very difficult to understand how to best deal with in the Law Enforcement. It’s essentially a medical emergency but the individuals can also be involved in criminal activities at the same time (assaulting others, damaging property). It requires an EMS and police response 10/10 times. If one or the other is solely called out, they call the other immediately. Restraining the person in some form is necessary to confining them to one spot. You aren’t getting them anywhere near an ambulance til they’ve been restrained. They don’t feel pain. They don’t feel exerted by their efforts to break free.

I guess I’m saying; what would you do? How do you safely (both for the individual and yourself) accomplish the task of getting them medical attention as soon as possible?

Hey maybe take your knee off his back if you're asking if he's okay you fucking scumbag.

Fuck DPD and fuck anyone with those stupid ass "stand by blue" signs in their front yards. Go create a presence in deep ellum where people are getting mugged and shot every weekend instead of 4 of you douchenozzles suffocating some random crazy to death.

Read the cause of death again.

And I appreciate your continued support. I don’t work the Deep Ellum part of town.

Jimmy Russell gave a pretty lengthy explanation for Longbranch on the Bourbon Pursuit Podcast. It might have been Episode 207.

Basically, he said the Minister of Culture picked it out. It sounds like the Russells sent McConaughey dozens of samples until they found one they all liked. I don't think it went down like a traditional barrel pick at the distillery.

It was pretty fascinating. The Bourbon Pursuit guys were of course super polite and threw Jimmy plenty of softballs, but they did ask him if he disliked rye, which is a pretty open secret. Jimmy gave a pretty long answer about how rye wasn't really their focus in the past. Wild Turkey would make rye in the seasons when they couldn't make bourbon and it was very brief window. He also said his son was in charge of the rye projects.

Jimmy also said they barrel everything at 117-119 proof and they won't go higher. His cited taste as the primary reason for this. It seems a bit stubborn to me, but he's worked there since 1954 and obviously knows much better than I do.

I don’t mean to slander professionals that have a much better understanding of things than I. I just don’t like it’s flavor profile at such a low proof. Feel like it’s an adventurous project they just came up short on.

I took a deeper dive on the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky. It looks like it basically makes a reverse C from Louisville to Jim Beam in Clermont. Along the way are the following: Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey,  Four Roses, Heaven Hill, and finally Jim Beam.

I'm sure the night life is pretty decent in Louisville, but my focus would be on the gift shops at Michter's and Old Forester.

While at Wild Turkey could you ask, “what the fuck were y’all thinking with Longbranch?” for me please?

I  might be shifting alliances from Wild Turkey to Knob Creek. KC continues to knock it out of the park. The Rye Single Barrel Store Pick was really good. That's on top of course of the excellent Bourbon Single Barrel Store Pick Program.

What's a good Wild Turkey product comp to Knob Creek 25th Anniversary?

These two lines of products are definitely at the top of my list. I could literally drink Rare Breed and KC Single Barrel for the rest of my days and be happy.

Saw that Lewis was sick this weekend. Might not have been on his A game in the wet.

Any update on Alfa being under investigation?

Penalized for clutch infringements. Williams gets its first points.

Looking forward to your review. The next bottle I crack open needs to be a rye.

In short; it’s pretty phenomenal. So much better than 2019-01. I’m no tastebud guru, but it’s full and packs a punch. The nose is really good too. Pretty smokey and has that Beam peanut hint that I like a lot.

I’d say it’s worth buying if available to you. Don’t see how one could be disappointed.
