  1. Also in between the SMU and ISU games, Arnold did NOT play in a 59-20 win over WVU because they were going to save his shirt. Then BYU happened which burned the shirt. And for the TCU game Arnold plays the last 4 plays essentially running out the clock and taking a knee. Played in 6 games and attempted 24 passes.
  2. Lebby’s (mis)management of the QB room is a large reason why I’m glad to see him leave. He fucked Arnold this season burning his shirt with no real experience to show for it. I suppose the BYU experience can be beneficial, but thats it. And that’s not even getting started on last season and failing to have a backup quarterback that can complete a forward pass. Lebby is not a good QB coach. I think we continue down the V&S path. I just hope the next guy isn’t so keen on snapping the ball as soon as possible every single play with no regard to the game situation. The hyper hurry up stuff works much better mixed in with a regular tempo.
  3. I do appreciate him and what he’s done through this transition period. He has been good, but I prefer to take the chance on the guy who is capable of being great.
  4. I don’t really know his motivations- perhaps record chasing? He is 4,943 yards from all time passing yards, and 48 touchdowns from all time touchdowns. But he has to know Arnold is better in every skill category on the field except perhaps leadership and recognition (although Gabriel’s recognition skills aren’t that good). Considering his head injuries, the healthy thing would be to hang it up and start life after football, but I doubt that happens. If he wants to play, he should transfer with Lebby but he’s gonna get his head kicked in next season behind a shit line.
  5. Haven’t seen any real names pop up yet. Littrell makes some sense for continuity sakes, but I’m not sure he’s the best available.
  6. Alright? I was answering his question. Has nothing to do with their quality. Finley is one of his best friends and would be a comfort hire. Hall and Valai would sure up his defensive back positions, possibly even as a DC for Valai since he has a pretty lofty title at OU.
  7. TE coach Finley is most likely gone. Perhaps a couple of defensive guys since Lebby’s network on that side of the ball has to be fairly limited. I could see him taking Valai, and Hall. Probably some nameless staffers too.
  8. I’m a little late to the fight, but Arnold isn’t going anywhere. He’ll be QB1 next fall. Gabriel could follow Lebby, try the NFL, or hold a clipboard at OU.
  9. It is entirely possible they just got the two situations mixed up right?
  10. I know you’re mostly joking but this incident was the impetus of Lebby leaving OU. He snuck Briles down on the field with OU licensed gear on and no one knew. And then when he got his hand slapped, he doubled down. It was a wedge driven straight between Venables and Lebby. I know OU is on the hook for hiring him in the first place, but imagine having that amount of gall. Bringing essentially the most hated man in football down on the field and making it look like it was sanctioned by the administration. What a fuckin’ idiot. They really should have just fired him after he threw his little fit, but I guess they chose golden parachute instead. Glad he’s gone. That was never going to be a championship offense.
  11. Lebby to Mississippi State is official. The slowest slot receiver they have better start learning the jet sweep.
  12. Unless he wasn’t originally interested, I’m not sure why he wasn’t plan A.
  13. Kliff should be forced to bring Grinch with him.
  14. That would cause some of the splash they all seem to be yearning for.
  15. Dead end job from hell.
  16. I want Texas to fail miserably in all things.
  17. Mike Stoops. Sorta similar situations, but I don’t know about any plane boardings. His name was floated and shamed from what I remember. Sark really should have trusted his gut there. Would have been an excellent hire.
  18. I should have been a middle-of-the-road college football head coach.
  19. A&M creates their own worst nightmares. This is where paying millions in NIL (and some under the table) to most of their players can bite them in the ass. If the players don’t like the hire, they revolt and threaten to transfer, the big money guys get upset for paying for nothing, and then the admin kill the deal with egg on everyone.
  20. Makes too much sense. Traylor would be an excellent hire for Houston.
  21. OU will need a TE coach because Finley will follow Lebby, but I don’t think Norman is lit 🔥 🔥 enough for Brewster.
  22. A handful of some of the best whiskey distilleries in the country within a short drive. I’d never leave for a cesspool like A&M.
  23. Simply too much smoke ha.
