  1. I am surprised he can even walk at this point . . . hope the guy makes a great comeback. He was fantastic in his prime.

No, I don't think so. You know, futureman, one day I believe that you're going to wake up and realize you no longer have a brother. And you no longer have any friends. And on that day I'm gonna be standing front and center just laughing my fucking head off.
  3. A solid navy or dark grey is appropriate for a funeral or wedding. Just keep the shirt plain (white or light blue) and you will be fine in pretty much any setting. A dark wool suit to a summer wedding in Texas can be a bit warm though.
  4. Do you know what style of suits you prefer? You should probably do some research before investing in a good suit. Figure out what you like in terms of the shape of the shoulder (natural vs. a little padding), lapel width, number of buttons, vents, etc. If you want to go on the lower end, I would probably try SuitSupply. If I were going to spend a bit more, I would probably go to Houston or Dallas and go somewhere like Sid Mashburn.
  5. Generally true. But in this case the judge is old AF and on senior status, so I doubt his case load is too heavy.
  6. Dos Batos is a good option for the keto folks. They do a taco with a tortilla made out of cheese. I dig it.
  7. There are already a lot of options, but some of the better options seem to always be exceptionally crowded (e.g., El Dorado, Cabo Bob's, Hopdoddy). There are a ton of people living in NW Hills, Allandale and Crestview that eat on W. Anderson. The area could support more restaurants.
  8. Never tried one and probably never will. A friend's mom was permanently paralyzed by a chiro. I have heard multiple real doctors say that think chiros should be illegal because they cause more injuries than they fix (especially for women and children).
  9. If you are thinking backpacking rather than day hiking, it would also be worth looking at the Oachita trail, which starts in eastern OK. Not much further of a drive from DFW and very pretty in the fall. A very different landscape than the Wichitas though . . . and not as much cool wildlife.
  10. The Charon's Garden area of the Wichita's has solid hiking. The de facto place to eat in the area is probably Meers. BTW, the nearest town is Lawton, which is considered a complete shit hole . . . even by Oklahoma standards
  11. I watched Winter on Fire last night based on this thread. Really interesting to see Putin's strategy of keeping the Ukraine from the EU and then to think about how that compares to Brexit and our own current situation in the US (trade wars, Nato, etc.). Pretty consistent strategy for weakening the west. Also, I went from hoping Manafort flips on Trump to hoping they throw everything they can at Manafort. No mercy for that guy.
  12. If you want to try something similar, yellowbird makes a blue agave sriracha (and a few other great hot sauces). It may be just different enough to rekindle your interest.
  13. I will admit to having eaten bbq in London on multiple occasions while studying abroad . . . there used to be a KC style bbq place where expats would congregate to watch college football. Not something I would do if visiting though. On future trips to London I plan to just eat Indian food at every opportunity.
  14. This should go in the unpopular opinions thread. Its a pretty solid album start to finish.
  15. I hope Zelalem goes out on loan this year. Glad to see him up and running again, but there seem to be a lot of other young guys ahead of him in the pecking order in the Arsenal midfield. Not a lot of playing time in his future if he stays . . . even in meaningless cup games.
  16. Its fun, even if you never get really good at it. Definitely start with Clousers. They are relatively easy to tie. Once you learn a basic Clouser, there are a ton of different variations/materials/color combinations you can experiment with. And its a pattern that will reliably catch bass and any Texas saltwater fish. For bass in tanks, I like to use divers. I either buy dahlberg divers (too much of a pain to tie) or tie something similar with a foam body. The Lunch Money is another bass fly worth checking out (created by a bass fisherman in Austin for central tx waters).
  17. Levon has to be one of the coolest dudes ever, so he gets my vote. Always loved the drums on Blonde on Blonde (had to look up the drummer . . . Kenny Buttrey).
  18. This was Putin's 1936 Olympics. Numerous media outlets bought it and are talking about how surprisingly pleasant the host country was. The American president is doing everything possible to legitimize Russia as a world power. From a PR perspective, this is not a convenient time to be imprisoning young girls. 15 days is probably a smart move.
  19. No. You see it some. There are folks in Stillwater that did not go to college.
  20. My guess is that this asshat regularly strutted around Stillwater in OU gear, occasionally someone commented on it, and in his head that translates to an OU obsession. When we start putting upside down OU stickers on our car, then we can talk about an obsession . . .

    Kayaking

Do the Devil's. There are portions of the river already lined with vacation homes but still a lot of parts that feel really wild. I have to think the whole thing will be less wild in the future. As someone mentioned up thread, if you put this off another 5 years the river may not be the same. If flows are really low that time of year, you can do a float starting out at Del Norte, which cuts out a lot of the areas where you would have to drag the kayak.
  22. Yep. I have seen Sturgill with a few different band setups now. His shows before Sailor's Guide when Lars was still in the band were easily my favorite.
  23. Not the flashiest signings, but seem to be smart moves. I really hope Torriera pans out . . . we have been wondering in the wasteland without a defensive mid for a decade now.
