  1. You mean the two NFL homegrown regulars (non-transfers) who came onboard before Sark took over the program in 2022? That’s the pinnacle of the homegrown WR development under Sark right now. Parker may be the next homegrown NFL talent. Wingo and Moore still have much to prove right now, though I do believe that they have the right NFL measurables to get drafted (albeit later) if they don’t turn it up a few notches before then. Hopefully, they do.
  2. Sark brought in 3 transfer WR’s last year to supplement a 2024 WR room in need of development which consisted of Deandre Moore, Johntay Cook, Ryan Niblett, Freddie DuBose, Ryan Wingo, Aaron Butler and Parker Livingstone. We then lost Cook to the transfer portal, DuBose to medical retirement and Niblett to position roulette. Wingo still can’t catch and Moore has been a non-factor this year. Only one of these WR’s has actually been productive (Parker) and been on the same page with Arch this year. Yet, you would posit that our homegrown WR development is of no concern right now. We shall see soon enough.
  3. Were Golden and Bolden “homegrown” talent? No. They were transfer WR’s who had already established themselves elsewhere and it was the primary reason why Sark recruited them to transfer here. He didn’t recruit them to be developed here, either. He brought them here to perform. Our “homegrown” WR’s, on the other hand, were brought in to be developed. And that development, outside of Parker and the true freshman who are still learning the ropes, is looking questionable right now.
  4. My point has been the same throughout these posts. Other posters have been all over the map reading into things that are not there. Our non-transfer WR’s, outside of Parker Livingstone, are not developing into consistent performers. And this is starting to look like a “homegrown” problem. Hopefully, our transfer WR (Mosley) is the real deal and can get healthy enough to help carry the WR load that is currently missing right now with Wingo, Moore, etc.
  5. I don’t care if our NFL level WR’s are homegrown or transfers. What I do care about is that we actually get them here. Because if we don’t get them here via the transfer portal and if we don’t see our homegrown talent developing quickly, then we end up in our current situation where Parker Livingstone is our best WR. Which isn’t a slight against Parker because I think he is a very talented WR. However, most people on this board, before the season started, wouldn’t have predicted that Parker would be our best WR right now, let alone the second or even third best WR. And that may speak to a bigger problem about how our homegrown WR’s are developing.
  6. Our homegrown WR room has been pretty average at best so far under Sark. Thankfully, we were gifted Xavier Worthy by Michigan, as well as Golden, AD Mitchell, and Bond through the transfer portal. Yet, the best of the rest (excluding Parker) consists of two inconsistent WR’s in Deandre Moore and Ryan Wingo, who probably just needs a new set of eyes to see the football. We still don’t know what we have with the true freshman: Kaliq Lockett, Daylon McCutcheon, Jaime Ffrench and Michael Terry. Aaron Butler is a JAG and Ryan Niblett is still trying to find himself in life (and a permanent position). Not to mention the other WR recruits who are no longer with the program: Johntay Cook, Brenen Thompson, Savion Red and Freddie DuBose Jr. Ohio State rolls out of bed and steps onto a 1st round pick at WR every year it seems like. We have been spoiled through providence and the transfer portal with our recent influx of NFL talent. Maybe this latest homegrown WR class will turn things around. There is still much uncertainty right now with our current group.
  7. What have they done to excite you?
  8. We really should have pushed for Ryan Williams instead of Ryan Wingo and sold out for Dakorien Moore instead of settling with Jaime Ffrench and Kaliq Lockett. Our WR room is pretty underwhelming right now. Parker is a legit dude who I would prefer to be our WR #2. If Ryan doesn’t step up his game soon, Arch is going to have to hope that Parker and Endries is enough to keep defenses honest. I’m not sold on DeAndre Moore. He feasts on lower competition but struggles against top tier defenses.
  9. It’s White Boy Saturday.
  10. This is 1969 Texas football on offense.
  11. He finds your lack of faith disturbing. We’re about to witness Arch’s villain arc soon.
  12. Just think how much better Ryan Wingo is going to be now that he can actually see. I’m sure he’s still getting used to seeing objects that are past 5 feet. Once his eyes adjust, it’s game on.
  13. 20 years ago, VY had David Thomas. Fast forward to Arch, who now has Jack Endries, a David Thomas clone. It’s all coming together.

  15. It will be all the more sweeter when Sark gets Ryan Williams to flip to Texas on NSD2. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
  16. Tommie Harris was much better at stopping the run than rushing the passer while at OU. He was never a prolific pass rusher (highest sack total in a season was 5) but he was great at disrupting offenses, nonetheless, by freeing up his teammates to wreak havoc. He was also very good at stopping the ball carrier behind the LOS (34 tackles for loss in his career). He was fast (4.68 40) and strong (29 bench) and was drafted high (14th overall) due to his immense talent and ability to impact a game with his penchant for making plays behind the LOS. But, he never truly maximized his full potential, both in college and in the NFL as a pass rusher. I’m sure that many people had envisioned that he would become the next John Randle at Defensive Tackle, with his combination of speed and power. Yet, it never fully materialized as time went on. And injuries eventually took their toll and cut short a promising career.
  17. He’ll throw a much better ball to the WR’s and DB’s.

  20. It was this 3rd and 6th throw into the end zone to Xavier Worthy in the middle of the 3rd quarter that really blew me away. Q threw it perfectly with the WR in stride into such a tight window that only X could make a play on the ball. I’m confident that if X had AD’s hands for that exact moment, that’s a TD all the way. video-output-A0649518-3E48-40E1-8766-9ED27E349D92.mp4
  21. And let’s not forget that we still have Isaiah Neyor to add to the WR rotation this summer…
  22. I don’t think there will be much of a drop-off at QB, this season, if Ewers gets hurt/struggles badly. Murphy’s progression is going to force Ewers to step up his game all year long while solidifying the QB2 position. This, in turn, will allow Manning to redshirt this year, sit back, relax and soak up the offense. Sark has got to feel pretty good about his QB group, after this game, knowing that Ewers and Murphy can’t afford to settle down into cruise-control. All the components are there for a successful offense; Ewers just needs to grab the keys to the car and never let go of them because Murphy isn’t too far behind him…and now that he’s finally healthy, he’s only going to continue getting better…game on.
