  1. Taco making what looks like a big leap would be enormous for Dallas, as it lets them play Crawford at the 3T or 2i and get something in the middle of the defense. Jourdan Lewis looked pretty bad tonight and I'm surprised at his lack of development from last season, I wonder if he's injured. If the price for Earl is a 1st or 2nd rounder I'm passing. Safety is good enough to get by this season without giving up that much. I would only make that move if I thought Dallas could win a Super Bowl this season, and I don't think Dak is good enough to do it.
  2. Fuck I wish I was as stoned as OP instead of being at work.
  3. Show me a loss on the schedule. I just don't see it.
  4. Marcus Mosher's scouting report on Gregory. He's higher on him than I am, but he also knows a lot more than I do. https://twitter.com/Marcus_Mosher/status/1019295500611223553 Meh fuck it I don't know how to embed a tweet.
  5. We had a great time down there, but it was weird. I'll echo justhookit, by the end of the week the mosquitos were as bad as I've ever seen them. My uncles house is behind the Aransas County Airport up against the Copano and by the end I couldn't go outside for more than a minute without swatting full time. The day we left we had to spray everyone down before they got in the car because the van itself had a bunch in it just from loading. We did two trips to Port A and the first time the beach was a hot mess from the flooding. Ate at Irie's and Trout Street ( kind of a family tradition at this point ), port is clearly not at full capacity. Oddly, a bunch of stuff down there is closed Monday / Tuesday becasue they can't find enough workers, and they want to be open on the weekend rather than during the week. Pretty much everything but Hudats / Whataburger / Taco Bell was closed Monday Tuesday in Rockport ( including Los Camoles ). We took a "sunset boat cruise" out of the Fulton Harbor w/ Captain Tommy ( who showed up at 6:00 PM bad hungover from the previous night in Port A ). He told us it we were the first tour he'd had in two weeks ( he kept us out longer than normal to say thanks ). He also told me his business was so low he'd signed a contract to ferry workers and equipment back and forth to St. Joe's for 6 months starting in July for all the construction they were going to have to do. I didn't do well fishing and my skills have nearly evaporated. What I really need is to hire a guide that will re-train me for like 3 days.
  6. We are making a surprise trip next week to Rockport to stay at my Uncles House. Anyone have any TD s I’m in bay fishing guides in rockport or Port A?
  7. The Cowboys interior DL is gonna be rough to start the season.
  8. I bet you're fun at parties. Dude, I love terrible B movies. That's being lost here, I love this damn movie. For the record, I'm typically the bartender / designated driver at most of our parties so people put up with me at the bare minimum.
  9. The sex scene is so bad I can't believe they filmed it. Brilliant borderline on violent blue lighting, "Take my Breath Away" pounding in through the speakers, Tom Cruise being lowered via some sort of crane device ( seriously, he's like completely parallel with the ground ) on top of Kelly McGillis to assume the Missionary Position, the two of the standing at attention before moving their arms over each other like they are robots being told how to simulate sex. The real topper though is the fight scene just before they bang, which is like a perfect maelstrom of horrendous acting and terrible dialogue about the fact that Maverick "has a real brilliance in his flying, but you're also a complete fucking lunatic". It's like watching my 5 YO play acting a fight between 2 adults or something. For sure though my favorite scene is directly after Goose dies and Cruise is standing there in tighty-whities trying to be sad and Viper's all like, "Fuck 'em, he's dead. Cut that asshole out of your life. You've got to let him go ( he's been dead for like 4 hours ) and move on with your life". Cruise's performance is jaw droppingly bad. I hadn't seen an early Cruise movie in a long time and I had forgotten how much better of an actor he is now compared to then. Unless he's grinning his face literally contorts like he's got Bell's Palsy or some shit when he's trying to be angry or sad or something. His timing is awful on the two comedic scenes ( like when he's trying to sing in the bar ). Look, I loved that movie and the Top Gun theme screams patriotism and the U.S. motherfuckin' A. to me like a Sousa march. I still love that movie in the same way you love something average but you have a deep connection w/, like a profoundly mediocre Tex-Mex restaurant in the small town you grew up in ( shout out to Ta-Molly's and La Familia ).
  10. Top Gun. I hadn’t seen it start to finish in maybe 15 years, so this last weekend the ball and chain rented it with me. I remember seeing a Rotten Tomatoes scores of like 55% and thinking that was crazy. Holy hell has it aged poorly. Basically anything that isn’t a flight scene is borderline unwatchable. The dialogue with Kelly during the Love Plot is so bad you almost can’t believe they filmed it.

  12. Don't understand why Dallas has to have a TE in this draft. I'll miss Witten and he's one of my all time favorite players, but his athleticism fell off a cliff last season and he really struggled early in the season in run blocking. He hasn't been anything other than a "go to the sticks and turn around" receiving threat in 3 seasons. He was only a slightly above replacement level player in 2017. They are called replacement level players for a reason. I don't have a reason why I write this, but it feels like a defensive move tonight, whether that's a trade for Earl or a draft pick. Dallas is 1 piece away in the secondary and has completed their LB corp. The could complete either the DL or the secondary tonight and be mostly through the defensive rebuild the decided on after 2016 ended.
  13. Well well I’m a fuxking morom that doesn’t know shit, but this was the guy I wanted at 19 and the guy I called earlier this week. so fuck it, let’s roll
  14. My love affair with Vea is rapidly diminishing. I just don’t think he’s ever going to give you a pass rush, and if he can’t, he’s not worth a 1st rounder. Sign Hankins for gods sake. if they don’t move up for a DB I think they’ll take LVE from Boise State as a Mike.
  15. If you’re going day 2 just take Nick Chubb ( I’m not opposed to that ). id love to come away with another RB in round 2 or 3.
  16. I didn’t like the pick at the time, but it’s just not true that he didn’t improve as the season went along. You can check his PFF grades for a snapshot. his problem is that he’s really bad against the run. That never really improved, and as the season went on teams started targeting him. He made up for that by playing pass coverage at a high level.
  17. Absolutely, which is why they waited until June 1st to maximize that savings ........... sorry, I agree with you. I just think this was an atrocious decision. These bumbleducks were reported to be offering Sammy Watkins 16 million. dallas now has the second highest dead cap number in 2018 behind Buffalo at 23 million I believe.
  18. Dez reiterated twice today he wanted to take a pay cut to stay with the organization, but wasn’t given the option. So I’d definitely love to hear more about how this was a pure financial decision when the player wasn’t even offered a chance to restructure and then didn’t make it a post June 1 cut.
  19. Look everyone get's that you gargle the ball sweat of literally anything you've ever remotely taken an interest in, and it's rapidly coming back to me why I had you blocked on shaggy. But this is not what "good teams do". Good teams release underperforming players . . . like Witten, who sucks. Or T-Will, who also sucks and has a similar dead cap number to Dez. You're more than welcome to make an actual argument instead of felating every member of the Cowboys Front Office. I don't actually give a fuck? You mean week 10, the Atlanta game, unless you were unhappy with the 33 points they scored against the Redskins. Look, Dak was great in 2016 and really good in 2017 when he was working off of Play Action. He's been very mediocre when he's working straight drop back. Now, that's true of a lot of QBs, so that's not some huge knock against him. But Dak's problem in the 2nd half of last season was that he was just really really bad on regular drop backs that had nothing to do w/ play action. He went from "OK" to putrid, and despite what people seem to think, he still had a good OL last season. No, he didn't have the best OL in the league, but he still had a league average to slightly above league average line with Smith out.
  20. I would disagree that it's a horrible tracked stat. Rather, I think it's somethign that's much more dependent on how opposing teams cover specific WRs than can be adequately covered in a single stat. Look, I'm the douchebag that pays $70 a year so I can watch all the NFL games w/ the coaches tape. I don't have a specific number to quantify how open Dez was last season, but I also watched every single play he made last season w/ the coaches tape. That motherfucker was open. A lot.
  21. They aren't even cutting him post June 1st. https://twitter.com/fishsports/status/984837866198007809 This was an organizational tug of war, not a well thought out decision. Fucking retards.
  22. Stupid teams keep rolling over an injury prone QB's cap money. Stupid teams sign OT's to ten year deals the continually restructure the deal so that it's somehow more expensive because they never have the cap in a working condition. Stupid teams draft a RB in the top 5 when there was a "once every 5 years" quality CB on the board right behind him. Stupid teams overpay their mediocre internal performers (T-Will / Crawford / Scandrick/ on and on ). Stupid teams take risks in the 2nd round when the rest of the NFL has learned you need the surest thing possible because of how cheap the contract is ( basically everyone the last 5 years ). Stupid teams ignore 2 of the 3 ways you can make your roster better (trades / free agents / draft). Dallas deals only with the draft. Stupid teams prioritize window maximization over long term team quality. Stupid teams cut a great WR when they have huge holes to fill elsewhere and no viable way to fill that hole for the next season. For some reason I can't understand, Dallas has a history under Jerry Jones of unbelievable moronic WR moves. Cutting Dez this offseason. Over paying for T-WIll. The Miles Austin contract. the Laugh Out Loud putrid Roy Williams trade. The indescribably stupid Roy Williams contract extension. The overpay for Owens. The unspeakable Galloway trade. The "have y'all even watched football the last 3 seasons?" move w/ Rocket Ishmail. The Dallas Cowboys are America's team. America is stupid. Therefore, the Dallas Cowboys are a stupid team.
