  1. Surprised they didn’t go with “Biden policies add to the supply chain and inflation issues ahead of holidays.”
  2. Regardless, it’s a game of chicken and once it’s clear Trump still maintains a more than zero percentage of the R base, the party will back him if he refuses to back out. Rs know they can’t win shit with a split party vote. The R fear to alienate any of his base is paralyzing to the party leadership. Mitch hates Trump as much as many Ds, but he still tap dances around directly confronting the problem, because party uber alles.
  3. I don’t think the majority of voters look at shit like that. If the senate is already locked up for Ds, the enthusiasm from Rs will pop like a balloon. Many Rs were already holding their nose to vote for him. They aren’t going to stand in line in the cold to do it for no immediate value.
  4. Yea, no one is shitting their pants more than Kari Lake rn. She was on the fast track to a VP ticket with Trump, but now she’ll be lucky to get a gig with OAN. Trump doesn’t tolerate losers.
  5. There isn’t enough popcorn in the world for the shit show Kari will put on after losing.
  6. Shit, missed the edit window. Elon’s plan for verifying accuracy of information.
  7. Another one I forgot. Anytime we had a pre snap penalty all the Aggies around us would yell “that was us” or “we did that” even though it wasn’t loud.
  8. The people we interacted with were super nice. Quite a few olds asked us to take it easy on them before the game. The guy sitting next to my wife was from Michigan and was there because his kid went to A&M. The guys on my side were Washington transplants to Austin that were going to a game in every stadium in Texas. They had money on Florida. Our section had more Florida fans than aggies so there wasn’t much chirping from them outside of a lot of crying about the targeting call. It was my wife’s first game there. The guy next to her convinced her to join into their song with all the swaying. We did horns up whenever they talked about sawing off horns or whatever. She didn’t understand what the milk men were doing, and I couldn’t explain it.
  9. Weird things I saw at the game yesterday: guy in an FSU shirt and aggy hat girl in full Bama gear sitting with a bunch of gators. horns down constantly even though they were playing Florida. they pump a lot of noise through the speakers throughout the game, their band/crowd doesn’t do a lot outside of the occasional third down. I could hear the Florida band across the stadium multiple times. really surprised at the number of Florida fans there my seat was on a seam in the bleachers and one side of the seam was loose, so every time someone on that side sat down it pinched the shit out of the back of my calf. on a positive note, the sausage in their wrap was really good (slovacek garlic pepper jack I think?), but the nachos were damn near inedible.
  10. We sell alarm services. Most people only arm their systems in away mode. Stay mode is rare, and is almost entirely by single women or female spouses with male spouses not home. Standard security has its limitations and even if armed, has openings unless someone really is paranoid and layers a lot of devices. Standard door/window contacts only trip if opened, so if you just kick in glass and step through the hole, that sensor isn’t tripped. Glass break sensors cover a pretty small area, and most people don’t spring for having them cover every piece of glass in the home. It’s entirely possible that the system was armed, but this guy used a hammer and knocked out a bedroom window that was not in range of a glass break sensor and crawled through the opening instead of popping a pane and unlocking/opening the window to get in. Houses are really easy to break into, and even the best security system isn’t going to stop someone with intent.
  11. We had a guy at the shuttle entrance that was auditioning for TSA on Saturday. Didn’t help that there was an older couple trying to go through with massive ass bags just full of bullshit, but he was digging brought little clutches and shit too. He looked between cards in my dango wallet.
  12. L’imperatrice was an absolute blast, probably the highlight of this year. Spoon, Phoenix, the Front Bottoms, Paramore, and Wet Leg were all awesome. RHCP sounded great but I’m still annoyed they only did 90 minutes including their encore. The Maria’s and Death Cab sounded fine but just weren’t exciting. Larry June, Isaac Dunbar, and Josh Fudge were unknowns that caught our ear. We skipped the headliners Friday and attempted to listen to Flume for a couple of songs and bailed early Saturday as well. I think I caught the olds.
  13. Thanks for the replies. My experience over there is from close to 20 years ago so the $.15 is dated, but the concept still stands. Just curious why we can’t decouple gas prices from the price of oil for domestic producers the way other major oil producing countries do.
  14. Necrobump. This question isn’t political, but I expect the answers to wind up going that route so I’ll ask here. Is there any explicit rules that ties the price of oil per barrel to the price of gas at the pump for US O&G companies? In theory, the price of gas should be the cost of extraction, refining, transport, and taxes plus whatever margin the companies choose to add, right? The reason I ask, is I’ve been to some countries in the ME that charge absurdly low prices per gallon ($.15/gallon), and I’m curious what prevents a similar big discount for local production from happening here. I assume some of that is gov’t ownership of some or all of those same pieces of production, but they are also just as interested in profit since for many of those countries that is their primary export.
  15. Yea, it was pretty bizarre. They did 80 minutes, left the stage, then came back for a one song encore and were done in 90. Lots of people in denial after the house lights came up and they were packing up thinking they would come out again. There were lots of weird breaks in their set too, think Keidis was having monitor trouble or something. He left the stage 6-8 times and they would all huddle up when he came back to discuss shit before playing. His vocals were also not on pace with some of the songs, which makes me think he couldn’t hear shit.

Ferreira could be fine in the right system, but it’s pretty obvious that what Gregg has these guys doing isn’t it. Most of our attack is a fullback or wing getting the ball wide and blasting crosses across the box with defenders sitting deep. Ferreira is too small to be effective in that kind of game, which makes Pefok or Pepi better selections on that point alone. If GGG was capable of change I would think he would have shown it by now, but he’s a one trick pony. He needs specific players to fit his specific system and our most talented, can’t-bench players don’t fit. So he’s stuck playing guys in a system they aren’t effective in, to the detriment of everyone. USSF is stuck at this point, but I expect after this WC we are moving on to another coach and starting over again.

This has been a problem GGGs entire tenure. Tactics in the final third are non existent. Service to the 9 is non existent. We have a bunch of individual talent trying to make magic. It would be great to have a goal hounding 9 in position to get on the end of possible magic. Pefok and Sargent are probably the two most in form for that role. Pepi can be that guy, but I think his confidence is currently in tatters. This WC is going to be dog shit, but it would be great to get real 9s some time so they aren’t coming in green for the next cycle. Unfortunately Gregg is going to build whatever bullshit roster he thinks he can win the cup with, which will probably stunt growth for the next WC.
  19. Yea, Napier left points on the table, but I think ultimately he knew his defense wasn’t going to be able to keep them from lighting it up. I don’t see that getting a lot better as the season goes on unfortunately. Once Miller is healthy at least we will have a functional backup QB so maybe they will take the bubble wrap off AR.
  20. I will drain at least one bottle if we pull this shit off.
  21. Florida has the very real possibility of losing to KY, TN, GA, LSU, and FSU in one season. SCar and Vandy aren’t a stretch with a few more injuries. Not sure the fan base could stomach that regardless of the realities in the locker room.
