I'd be curious.  Aside from the Big Island we have 3 nights in Waikiki near the Zoo and 4 nights in Punalu'u

Do this. Lanikai pillbox hike. Not too hard (my kids were 13 and 10 and the younger one is a wimp), great views and a beautiful beach at the bottom to cool off in. I think it was about 35 minutes from Waikiki.

Edit. Also though touristy Diamond Head is worth doing. You can almost walk there from parts of Waikiki. Maybe not, it's been a couple of years, but it's close, fun and cool bunkers at the top.

This is seriously dumbass thinking. Why the fuck would you take the chance? One speck of something and the gastroenterologist terminates the procedure and you have to do it all over again. The clear liquid diet is nothing. Just do it and follow the instructions like an adult and treat yourself to whatever you want to eat when it’s done.

I think it will be fine.

  3. I called today, they told me someone has to stay the entire time. They said probably 2 hours from when I walk in at 8:45. Stupid. I'm not objecting to them not letting me drive but it's not easy to have to ask other people to rearrange all of their shit to sit in a waiting room for 2 hours.

  4. I'm up Tuesday. I'm planning on not following the clear liquid diet per the statnews articles and cited studies. Anybody try this? "I've never seen a piece of chicken" sold me. I'll probably have chicken soup, with chicken at least.

They are also being bitchasses about driving. They are including in their text manifesto that my driver must remain on the premises (their word) the entire procedure. Can they really hold me to that? I have a friend who is willing to pick me up and lives 10 minutes away. I'm getting dropped off by my wife. She has to take our kid to an appointment and took the morning off so she could do both. People have lives. I'm not going to ask my buddy to sit in a waiting room for 3 hours. That's absurd.

  5. I wasn't going to win starting ETN and Blackshear. I would have at least liked to have a chance going into tomorrow with Jennings but the fucking Bengals didn't take a knee when they should have in regulation and then missed the FG when they did in OT. Every time Joey B came back with a score and put up a 50 piece. Bummer. I will take the free $1600. More and a trophy would have been nice.

  6. I have a 23 4 door Bronco as my daily driver. It's fun but I'm not sure it's what you're looking for. Mine is the twin turbo and it eats gas like a mfer. I bought it with a hard top and have bought a factory soft top for the seasonal swap. The swap is not easy and is not a one man job. The hard top is 4 pieces. Two "t top" panels which are very easy to remove and put back on. A larger middle panel which is cumbersome and a little heavy but I've managed to get it off by myself. The rear piece that sits over the cargo area is a 2 person job though they do make overhead lift systems if you have access to a garage that can make it a one man job.

With the soft top on, the main advantage is it's very easy to put it back and forth to position 1. To take it all the way down you have to remove both side windows and the rear window but it makes it a full on convertible. Doesn't take more than a couple of minutes and it is a one person job.

The soft top is way noisier and I wouldn't want just a soft top on the winter here or in the summer if I lived somewhere very hot like Arizona or TX.

If you have any specific questions let me know.

I still think the minisplit is the best idea. A 12,000 BTU unit costs about $1000 and they aren't difficult to install. It will add value to the home and it is easy to control to make it comfortable or just enough to prevent freezing. So just do it right once and never have to fuck with it again.

Can you link me to the type of mini split you're referencing? I see some small ones on Amazon, not sure if that's the ticket. The one they installed in the addition is a major piece of equipment - it's almost the size of a regular furnace. I would be way, way out of my element trying to set something like that up.

Have you tried letting the faucet drip?

Since you said it’s not that often, maybe that’s the way to go.

This has happened twice. The addition was completed last winter. It got very cold once afterwards, which is when we identified the problem, had the plumber/builder/insulation people come back out to "fix" the problem. I discovered last week that it was, in fact, not fixed. I definitely got the faucets dripping trying to thaw them and prevent refreeze. I was hoping for something a little more permanent going forward.

  9. Ha if I needed AC in the garage in summer I probably wouldn't be having this issue. I am in Michigan. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I am looking for least invasive and cheap yet safe. Running an electrical heater to a 240 is still the leader in the clubhouse.

I remembered last night that when the plumber came out that ran the lines when they froze up last year, he thought that the area that was freezing was likely the area above the garage ceiling and below the floor of the addition. Something about drafts getting in there. I'm not sure how accurate he was but he definitely knows more about this than I do. There's no way for me to reach that area without completely tearing out the garage ceiling and that is not happening. I've been through hell with an 18 month remodel that ended in May so I'm done with anything that resembles construction for a long time.

Hopefully heating the entire area below and above would be enough if it is indeed that area in between that's freezing.

  10. I normally cook mine on the rare side of medium rare. This one I took to 129 @ 200 before I pulled it, cranked the oven to 525 and blasted for 9 minutes. I think that I think now that this cut is a little bit better when it's more on the medium rare + side. It was very good.

  11. He also has a broken left hand and hurt his right elbow on Sunday. I'm less than convinced. Probably prudent to try to pick someone up considering he's the only QB I have rostered and my opponent can cock block me as I'm out of faab budget.

Ppr.  So you’re saying to sit Addison and dj moore. I’d lean that way

I would think so. Both have been getting double digit targets.

It occurred to me tonight that if KC wins tomorrow and clinches homefield, Buffalo does not really have any reason to play Josh on Sunday. That would be a massive kick in the nuts. I'm adding Bryce Young and Maye tonight.
