  1. Contrary to what I understood a few hours ago, condo just off property at WDW is apparently not an option.

Kids are 8 and 5 and I would like to do something that they would appreciate without breaking the bank. They are too young to fully appreciate stuff like Yellowstone. The boy might, but the girl (5) would be bored. LA/DLR is not a good option for us because we would have to deal with family members that wife is not keen on spending time with at this particular point in time.

Don't need a week, 3-4 nights would probably be fine. I have considered both NYC and Chi. Chi is easy for us - 5 hour drive, very familiar with the city, kids have never been and I think they would dig it. Toronto would be an easy drive, as well. Same with Niagara.

We have enough points to use for 4 R/T flights likely anywhere domestic if we want. Might be able to use Marriott points for lodging. Any other ideas? Outer Banks? Cheap cruise out of FL port? Cruise could be cool but I don't think we could use our points - they appear to be flight/hotel/car only.

  2. I could use some tips here.

Not a commercial venture. End of the year party at my kid's elementary school. I've been lobbying for the past year and it appears to be coming to fruition. Last year they had a couple of food trucks, maybe 3. I'm sure I would not be the only source of food, but I'm not worried about numbers just yet.

I'm thinking brisket and pulled pork only, sell by the 1/2 lb and lb. I think I can get $1.29/$2.79/lb respectively at RD. We are in it to fund raise for the PTO. I will get reimbursed for cost, if that, and we don't want to charge people a fortune. Local BBQ joint charges $8 per 1/2 lb for pulled pork and $10.50/half lb for brisket. What should we charge?

How do I serve? I would assume I need a helper to take money. Do I need 2? Someone to help slice/serve? What do I serve in? Would heavy duty cardboard plates be fine? Separate condiment table with buns, onions, sauce, pickles and they help themselves?

What else am I not thinking of? I've never done anything like this. My old BBQ party I made 2 butts or briskets max and rested in a cooler. Do I wrap these things in wax paper when they're done and just move them down the cooker away from the firebox as they finish and I need to hold them?

    Giggity.

    Ask away.

Me  - I'm thinking about trip #4 in 5 years to WDW this summer because free condo and I can't think of anything else my kids would rather do at their ages. I also may have some weasel tips for you if you stay off property.
