  1. Definitely would utilize transfer partners. I'm thinking about going for the Reserve for a year. 100k points when I hit $5k plus $500 Chase travel bonus. I would use the Apple TV, Door dash and might even sign up for Global Entry as next year's trip will probably be abroad. That should negate the annual fee. Then cancel before next year's fee unless I change my mind. I have plenty of open cards and unused credit so I'm not worried about closing a card after a year. Anything I'm not thinking about here? Is the $500 travel credit through Chase straightforward to use? I should then have a nice stash of Chase points to shop around through partners for next summer.
  2. Question, the Chase Southwest RR card has a 100k "bonus points" offer after $4k spend. I'm not seeing in the t&c whether those points are Chase points or RR miles. I'm guessing the latter? If they're regular Chase points I think this would fit the bill. I am half considering the Sapphire preferred as some of the credits may offset the annual fee. The Southwest card only has a $99 annual fee.
  3. This was a bit overstated by some of the guys I was hearing it from, at least if this weekend's game is any evidence. I think Hall is the main back, but they will use Allen in short yardage situations and on the goal line.
  4. Sorry I was in a hurry with that post. I'm out of DTW so Delta but I already have all of Amex cards. preferred Hotel is Marriott (or AirBnb/VRBO) but I have the Bonvoy card. I think Chase points make the most sense because of flexibility and transfer partners so I was leaning that way. My award travel is always going to be for 4 people so adding a bunch of points to my Chase bank would be ideal, I think, but I'm not expert level at the travel hacking stuff which is why I threw it out to you all.
  5. I have to make a ~ $4500 purchase and I initially was just going to put it on my Chase Sapphire Preferred to rack up some points but then I thought hmmm....the 5/24 rule isn't in my way anymore, maybe I should apply for a new card with a $5k spend bonus in the first 3 months and get some real points. The only really good bonuses I'm seeing are for the reserve and the ink business, but that is an $8k spend. Any recs?
  6. Wasn't the Mexican Martini just basically a margarita in a shaker with orange juice? No wonder they had to limit us at two. Man, I generally like our Generation but that was a bad era for us.
  7. I used to play in a shaggy league but it dissolved. Might be interested in another paid league if you need fillers. Back to draft matters, who do you all have on your DND list? I'm not touching these guys at current ADP. CMC. I'm hearing a lot of recent chatter that the pros want this guy at his current ADP. I'm not worried about general injury, I'm worried about THE injury. I'm an NBA guy and recent track record for guys coming off of calf strains with tendinitis in the AT isn't great. Plus I'm a jinx and I don't wish that on him. Jeanty - unless keeper league All Dolphins - getting bad juju about this team this year. Implosion seems like a real possibility. Breece Hall is apparently trending towards being more of a pass catching back in a 3 man timeshare. No thanks. I fear pretty big regression with James Cook. I have listened to a lot of podcasts and I have yet to hear anyone mention in regards to Cook that Josh Allen had a broken left hand for a big chunk of the season and the Bills were not calling his number in the red zone. Any others?
  8. I don't really care either way, my interest level in college sports is way way down. But someone posted this elsewhere, thought it was interesting. Full report https://t.co/WT1wVTCIgn
  9. Holy shit, this. The hoodies are my go to. Also, is it just me or does Brian Kelly come off as a big fucking phony? I'm only on E1. Either this man has changed tremendously or he's a big fucking phony. Good coach either way.
  10. I would maybe get a second opinion before getting cut on. Also re the cortisone shots... I'm far from an expert but I've had a few on my elbows due to weight training related tendinitis, and shoulder for weight training related stuff. My understanding from my Dr is that they can miss. He said he's usually 85-90% accurate but if it didn't work and I wanted to be sure he got it into the joint to see if it helped or not, the best bet is to schedule it using an ultrasound. It would have been another Dr in fact. I tried a lot of options for the elbow, what worked ultimately was to stop curling and a hired a personal trainer to work around my joint issues. He designs workout plans for me that target my weak areas that I had no clue were weak (hips, for example) and allows me to work some of the painful areas in ways that aren't as damaging.
  11. Nothing too exciting thus far but I'm still liking it. I wonder why they didn't profile Keon Coleman. He is hilarious.
  12. Asking because I don't know... Why cold smoke? When I have made batches, I always smoked them in the 250-300 range until they were 160. I'm not saying that's the correct way by any means it was just what I did because I didn't know any better. They were pretty tasty.
  13. Hey all. Has anybody been hitting the podcast draft training circuit as hard as I have been? It's that time of year. Who are you all liking and disking? I'm looking at a lot of the rookies at RB and WR. Hampton, Harvey, Henderson, Johnson. T Mac, Egbuka, love all of these dudes. We draft 8/23.
  14. Hang in there ROFLBOX. We are all behind you.
  15. Why, I dare ask. The regular roast beef sandwich plain seems like one of the healthier options out there from big fast food, from a calorie and protein/carb ratio standpoint.
  16. I like Indy. It's been a few years since I stayed downtown but there's a JW that is beautiful and the Conrad is also nice. Noodle is fun. And yeah, St. Elmo's.
  17. Saw this earlier today. Tomorrow (8/8) will mark two years since the fires. I still have somewhat of a hard time dealing with this, having watched it all unfold from up on the hill. I can't imagine what it would feel like to have been in the impact zone that day and/or to have had to deal with the aftermath over the past couple of years. Prayers up to Lahaina town. If you visit, please be respectful, don't book short term rentals from those who aren't local, and support local businesses. https://www.hawaiimagazine.com/lahaina-two-years-after-wildfires/
  18. I bought the book a few years ago and have incorporated many of the KOT exercises into my routines. At one point a couple of years ago I was pretty excited about the mobility progress I was making, but honestly in retrospect I think a lot of it was just weight coming off and being in a level of shape that I hadn't been in 20+ years. I still do a lot of the exercises regularly but it is definitely not some kind of miracle routine/cure. Anatomy is anatomy and there are just some things my knees can't handle, with or without the KOT movements. Not because of the program, but just because of anatomy and general wear and tear my knees have gotten worse and I can't do a lot of the stuff I could two years ago. I had to have a scope done on the left one a few months ago and to be honest I have more pain in general in the right kneecap than I do in the one that has been cut on (twice). Still trying to get that mobility back, but I'm back to squatting with a box or bench behind me and a full sit before I stand up with the weight. Hopefully as I build more strength I can get back to a full depth squat without the crutch. TL;DR the KOT stuff, imo, is mostly engagement farming but I do believe many of exercises have merit. It's just not a miracle cure. I deleted IG but check out Jeffrey Wolf. He is a guy who I think was involved with Ben and KOT and came to the realization that it was a marketing gimmick. He preaches a lot of science-based movement from what I recall.
  19. Be careful with that thing fellas. Even on low the pressure is solid enough to cause some over spray splashing if you don't get the positioning right. I'd highly recommend practicing with it a few times at home before you are ready to take the show on the road. I'm also not comfortable reassembling it and storing it for next usage without a little rinse or through pat down with a wipe. Who knows what really goes on under there.
  20. This thing is a game changer for travel away from the home base bidet. I was on vacation with the family in Mexico for 8 days and I didn't even come home with vacabidet irritated butthole from tp use. Highly recommend.
  21. Interesting wood. I did not see anyone matching that profile or description. Everyone we encountered on Hidalgo was doing the friendly hard sell and taking the rejections in good spirits. It was hilarious watching some of them go up to my 15 yo and ask "Hey you want weed bro? You look like Yawn Cena! Hey bro! Yawn Cena! Rambo!" 😂
  22. I think get it fixed. Stay active. I worry that the minute I succumb to an injury and just let it go is the minute I turn into a lazy old blob. At a minimum the rehab will be a good challenge in your life to take on. Keep us posted. I've potentially got shoulder surgery in my future, so I'm subscribed.
  23. Nice troll. Almost worked.
  24. Stupid and fun. Bad revivals of old gags, but some good ones as well, and a few new good ones. If you were in college in the mid to late 90s, it was well worth the two hours.
  25. Genuinely curious where this is coming from. I think it's a pretty great little gem. I'm not sure I could live there, either.
