  1. Anyone finish the 1619 project? It's...not a very fun read. But learning a lot and only 100+ pgs in
  2. Weighing yourself every day is important when you're trying to lose weight. Obviously weight isn't everything and we can all acknowledge that but the scale keeps you honest. Weigh yourself at the same time under the same conditions every day and record it. Scale anxiety is real.
  3. So you want the water to stay in your butthole?
  4. Why not the battery operated models? I have one of those Brondells...never really got used to using it.
  5. Do any of you experienced guys have any supplements that you like? A thermogenic for pre-cardio that won't make my heart explode? Anything that will help with gains in the gym? I can't lift super heavy right now due to some cartilage/bone spur issues in an elbow but I'm doing what I can manage as there is no risk of further acute injury.
  6. I wasn't very clear but thank you for the reply. This is long after the poke. I think I got my booster in November. I am wondering if maybe I picked up the virus but my body was fighting it off and one of the immune responses could have been pain in injection site. I had no other symptoms but this pain was pretty lockstep with the arm soreness I experienced after shots 1 and 2. Unlike any other type of arm pain I'm familiar with. I took a test last week when it started and it was negative but shrug. Just odd. It seems to have mostly subsided for now. For a few days I was having a hard time lifting my arm parallel to the ground.
  7. Would it be possible for some sort of immune mediated response symptom to be muscle pain in the general area of vaccine/booster vaccine site? I have had some pretty good deep bone-ish pain in my arm for about 5-6 days. No acute injury. I've been in the gym but this is not that and it's in a strange spot, not really "on" any of the major arm/shoulder muscles. I just can't think of anything else.
  8. I went to a couple of stores to try to get a glimpse at an ultra short throw laser projector and compare it to an 85" QLED (vs current 1080p overhead projector setup). No luck. Of course the kid at best buy was going to 'hook me up' by sending Geek Squad over to give me advice. The high end stores were not really interested in showing me what I wanted to see. I decided my best bet was to just buy one on amazon and see for myself. If I don't like it I will just return it and go with the 85". I bought the Hisense because it has pretty good reviews and comes already with a 100" ALR screen, which happens to be the exact same size as what I'm currently projecting onto. Should be easy enough to test out. It is not supposed to arrive until late Feb which makes a baboon sad. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-U1jmbN9Ze3Y/p_363100L5G/Hisense-100L5G-CINE100A.html?XVINQ=GLX&awkw=1572464763268&awat=pla&awnw=g&awcr=572657208662&awdv=c&awug=9016839&gclid=Cj0KCQiAip-PBhDVARIsAPP2xc0FjXfNvgtypFIeYRJ5UlCI4iwhAaxJ4HMBfd8Ggv7VoBIYHM7cbAkaAmWFEALw_wcB
  9. The old lady hitting the wrong pedal thing happened to a guy I used to play golf with. Terrible way to go. https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/local/2020/12/12/man-hit-killed-while-walking-into-cvs-store-in-farmington/
  10. Team over 40, no cash. It's a great excuse to tell the homeless folks you don't carry cash.
  11. Do not eat a huge romaine and spinach salad while back at your condo for lunch only to return to the park for evening hours and have to shit your brains out in 102 degree weather at the bathroom by the cut through between Adventureland and Frontier land. Trust me. You're better off sticking with chicken tenders and Dole Whips and worrying about your diet when you get home.
  12. My problem is solved. I'm sure Sam Lin thinks I should sous vide my red onions and use a rare form of opal pressed saffron oil to make my dressing but I'm good otherwise.
  13. Chopped salet talk, not going away. Some new appliances & accessories were purchased and experimented with. The salet The baseline method Method 2 - the way they do it at the salet places using This Thing Method 3 using This Thing Honestly method 3 wins, no contest. Very easy to rinse out the thing and no other cutting needed. The fineness of the chop is superior, as well. This thing was the largest "bowl" I could find in an appliance of this sort - supposed to hold 10 cups. You can see an individual salet barely fits in it. Would not work if you were trying to chop up a salad for the entire family, but for my lunches it's pretty perfect. We'll see if I'm still using it in a month or if I have reverted to method 2, or dare I say method 1 like a caveman.
  14. I know I'm not the only one who laughingly scoffs at how stupid the stunt is with the Rain-x wipers getting defrosted in giant ice blocks by open flames. Yet can't help but marvel at how awesome it is and think to myself I fucking need those wipers.
  15. Jesus Christ you guys just budget the alcohol into your caloric intake. It makes my heart ache to see so many people quitting booze. Enough is enough, I had to step in and say something.
  16. Actually that thing is 2" x 2". Dammit. Foiled again. Edit. 2 conflicting specifications on that page. One says it's basically 5.5" x 5.5" x 5.5" and the other says it's 1.5" x 1.5" x 1.5". I'm inclined to believe the former but still probably too small.
  17. I think that's the ticket pops. I'm gonna order and check it out. I just made my salad. 2 minutes of chopping with the pizza cutter. I think I have tennis elbow AIDS now.
  18. I mean it's not something I would expect Mark Cuban to invest billions in or anything but you're telling me, despite the enjoyment of the good old fashioned surly dogpile here, that it wouldn't be a useful tool to have a plastic bowl - basically a salad spinner - that you could put whole romaine leaves, whole tomatoes, a half a cucumber and some onion in, crank a handle a couple of times, and you have a mixed, chopped salet? I would pay $19.95 for that and buy 1 get 1 free off of late night TV. Show of hands, how many here, on a Tuesday at 1:30 between meetings, are dumping this out on a cutting board, julienning vegetables with a chefs knife, while humming Pavarotti? More power to you. I'm not. I am giving this a try. My plight is not something to be ridiculed, these are real world fucking problems. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AEH634/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
  19. Google the AITA thread about peegate and the follow ups. Zola-level fucked up and riveting.
  20. Where was the square pizza around the September 30 mark? Via 313? Looks so damn good right now. Also was that woman a tad milfy in the clip with your mom hitting the wiffle ball in the gym? Not your mom, the other one. Moms is awesome BTW. God if I did one of these it would be so fucking boring.
  21. No. I buy pre packaged salads. Not the dole shit in a bag, but usually a Caesar. I grill chicken and add. Sometimes add red onions. And my own dressing..Yes dumping the entire thing out onto a cutting board, chopping with a chefs knife for five minutes and then squeegeeing everything into a bowl and having a dirty cutting board that won't fit in the dishwasher is more effort than I want to put forth. Don't make me get all Passive Aggressive Coach on you guys for not understanding my pain. Seems like there would be a salad bowl container type of device for exactly this but I have yet to find one.
