That whataburger is 1/2 mile (take a right down Monroe, turn left down the 3rd or 4th at) from where I grew up. Kent St. Ugly little house with amazing memories of my family. I miss Daddy.
😢
Going to PM you - we must have lived near each other. We built our house in the early 90s on a lot on Monroe that used to house a big boat the locals called The Ark. Coming from Port Arthur, I had not heard of it, as a child, but people who had been in Groves for a long time used to come by to see the house that was built where The Ark used to be.

The best episode of the entire series was that Aurora Borealis one. Adam and Bernard were both great in that one.
Completely agree. Joel reminds me of Dennis the Menace when he's with Adam.

I don't know enough about the original run to be able to tell, but I assume a lot of music has either been cut out or replaced? Anyone know?
4 hours ago, Deej said:The series box set has the music replaced. The European version has all the original music, I’d assume Amazon has the replacement music.
You know, I did noticed most of the music is well-known songs but covers I'd never heard of. I thought it was just an artistic choice but now that you mention it, it makes sense that they'd swap it out for the originals.

I seriously LOLed at the episode where Maurice fires Chris from the radio because he mentions Walt Whitman's homosexual tendencies, then proceeds to play nothing but show tunes the whole time he fills in for him. 😂

I caught a few episodes of this back during the original run but I'm rewatching now that it's on Prime and I forgot how funny it was. Great show.

2 out of 5 stars. Kerry Condon is great, as always, and carried the film. There are a couple of good jump scares but nothing remarkable.

Toward the end of the film the tragedies just seemed to start piling up as if they were just random events rather than examining what caused them. Also, Efron's hair bugged me. The Ric Flair guy was a disappointment but I thought they generally did a good job with the wrestling nostalgia. I think that's where the film falls flat in trying to balance the cool old school wrestling shit with the Von Erich family tragedies.
But the worst thing in the entire movie...
SpoilerThe first thing I thought when that scene was that it was like the universe flipping off poor Kevin. Bad enough that he's the last sibling standing, and they have to go a step further and show the rest of them happily reunited in the afterlife without him?

Dallas ISD files formal complaint over PN-G state championship win
AUSTIN — KFDM/Fox 4 has learned that Dallas ISD has submitted a formal complaint to the University Interscholastic League (UIL) and Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO) after the Port Neches-Groves Indians defeated the South Oak Cliff Golden Bears to win the state championship football game.
"We can confirm Dallas ISD submitted a formal complaint to UIL and TASO (Texas Association of Sports Officials) related to the 5A Division II Championship Football game against Port Neches-Groves High School on December 16," according to a statement released Wednesday to KFDM/Fox 4 by Julia Zachary, Communications Manager at the University Interscholastic League.
PN-G won its fourth state title by defeating South Oak Cliff, 20 to 17, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Saturday, December 16.
The state title rematch drew 33,913 fans to AT&T Stadium, according to the UIL's official attendance.

Funniest scene for the whole series IMO
A few years ago I binged Letterkenny, and I watched this scene fairly late one night after everyone else in the house had gone to bed. I laughed so hard my husband woke up from a dead sleep and came out to the living room because he couldn't tell if I was upset or laughing. I seriously couldn't breathe. Still one of the funniest fucking things I've ever seen.

Saltburn. I thought the story was good. A little edgy for the sake of being edgy. I could have done without the recap “how I did it” at the end.
Visually it was really nice. The colors and saturation really well done. Shot by Linus Sandgren (LaLa Land, Don’t Look Up, Babylon) on 35mm.On 12/29/2023 at 3:44 PM, PenelopeWitherspoon said:I loved the dance scene at the end. Good for Barry K.
I've always thought Barry K was such a weird-looking motherfucker so it was strange seeing him as a sort of playboy. I didn't love the movie (seemed like it was trying to be The Talented Mr. Ripley), but the acting was great and I was especially impressed by Jacob Elordi. IMO he's the weak link in the main Euphoria cast, but I thought he was really good in this.

Watched another saved movie. Shiva Baby. Really funny.
I love Rachel Sennott and watched this just before seeing Bottoms in the theater. It might be the most awkward movie I've ever seen, and I've watched a lot of awkward shit. The horror movie music helps in that regard.

My Man Godfrey. Pretty funny screwball comedy from the 30s, especially if you like William Powell and Carole Lombard. My parents love The Thin Man movies so I usually end up watching something with William Powell or Myrna Loy when I'm over for holidays.

Upon a rewatch, I realized that Teddy from Brooklyn 99 is definitely an energy vampire.

Just watched it, very good movie. Disturbing as hell. I thought one of metaphors present was drug addiction (parties, ritualistic use, escape from grief, chasing of a sensation, etc) so reading that the directors were partly inspired by seeing an overdose video made a lot of sense.
I didn't know that, but yeah, it totally makes sense.

you have to feel sorry for all the png kids too. Their hs is literally right next to a old and run down chemical plant owned by the worst company you can imagine. Same plant has blown up multiple times. Very big boomsIt was super great having marching practice out there when the heat index was 105 and you could just smell the carcinogens seeping into your pores.
51 minutes ago, FOXHOUND said:Last time that plant blew up I felt that shit all the way in Port Arthur.
Awful call on the PI, but congrats PNG. Maybe PA Memorial can trade HCs with them, because we beat them early in the season but can't make a deep run in the playoffs with all that talent.
I don't think that one has blown up in a long time, unless you mean the TPC one on Rubber Plant Road that blew up the week of Thanksgiving a few years back. That boom woke me up.

Great win by PNG.
Joseph gonna be gone coach somewhere else at some point.
Always be faithful!
PNG will just re-hire Todd Dodge to find them a new coach. But honestly, when they get home I'm sure Joseph will find his home has been turned into a shrine by the 10 people who stayed in town.
