  1. I work at a large tech company that had a ton of computer scientists and engineers working with NASA leading up to and during the launch. Today one of our SVPs in Houston did a livestream panel discussion with several of the guys who were involved, and it was really cool. One of them was 22 during the launch, and the oldest of this group was 27. It's crazy thinking how young they were.
  2. I got the feeling that they are trying to set up a "Will is gay" storyline at some point. Not sure how it will work into the overall narrative but the "It's not my fault you don't like girls" comment from Mike seemed really pointed. Was gonna say Derry even before I saw this comment. Yeah, after Princess Bride I think of him in Twister. He's really found a niche playing douches.
  3. Love the Cinco de Mayo one. The discussion of Mr. Hootsworth's bandana color always makes me lol.
  4. I guess it's not beyond belief that O'Hara would be macking on her teammate, but I believe she's straight. I thought the two above are Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris, who are engaged.
  5. This morning, in our household, orange juice will be known as Dutch Tears. USA! USA!
  6. My son and I rode the Gravitron last year at the annual carnival in the Dell Diamond parking lot. I'm pretty sure they hadn't cleaned the inside since the 80s.
  7. I think we can talk spoilers here, but if not, mods can delete this. My son (11) and I binged the whole thing today. The last episode killed me. Got super dusty. I really enjoyed the whole season. A few random thoughts/observations: I'm glad they let Billy redeem himself at least somewhat. I'm sad, however, that there will be no more cocky lifeguard Billy. Because I wanted to see more of his...character development. My son predicted Billy would die because the main deaths in the previous seasons were also characters whose names started with a B. This prediction led us to the tubes to figure out what Hopper's first name was because neither of us could remember. (It's Jim.) This gave us temporary relief, but when he and Joyce made their date plan in episode 7-ish I figured something bad would happen to him. Loved Erica, although her character was a little cliched. Dusty and Suzie singing the theme from The Neverending Story was fantastic, as was her giving him shit about not knowing Planck's Constant. "Phoebe Cates, but hotter." LOL. I'm glad we got more Murray this season.
  8. The sofa is normally pushed up against the wall. Wasn't till we pulled it away that we saw what was under it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. How did we let this get off the first page? Here's my now 70-lb, 7-month-old puppy still thinking he's a lap dog. And here's Rocket and Edgar after we picked them up from the dog ranch after boarding for a week. That's my 11-yo son under them. You can't tell from the pic but Rocket has his front legs around my son's neck. Like a hug. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. My 7-yo loved it. So did I, and my husband and my 11-yo. It could've been more than it was, but...I guess I wasn't expecting a Best Picture nominee, and if you go into it just looking to see a good movie, I think you'll be really happy. It has rom-com elements for sure, but also real humor, and it's fun thinking about what the world would be like without the Beatles and other stuff.
  11. The 6-month-old puppy has finally surpassed his big brother Edgar. Puppy is at 65.2 lbs today, and Edgar is 59 lbs at 4 years old. He's gonna be a big'un.
  12. The dogs stood and barked at the couch till we looked under it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. My dogs during the first storm here in 78727. Suuuure you want to go outside. Lightning and thunder are starting to pick up again.
  14. Where'd you get the water buffalo horn? My two are insanely heavy chewers and these are the only things that last, and I've never had one that smelled. We've also had luck with really thick rope toys.
  15. I appreciate this. Thank you. I'll have more to say in the morning but wanted to acknowledge this tonight.
  16. I'm genuinely curious as to your thoughts (and those of the other pro-lifers in this thread) on punishing men who fund/approve of/push women to have abortions, or if you think any punishment should rest solely on the woman. I haven't seen any of you address this topic although it's been brought up several times.
  17. I, for one, love your brand of liberated woman. Surly bitches unite.
  18. I can't even discuss the awfulness that is Bran right now. I will say that Sansa's and Arya's endings worked, independent of the other shit that went down.
