  1. Laugh if you must, but my kids and their nerd friends have been relentlessly pounding Niantic about this since the war began.
  2. I had a coworker whose fiancé flew an A-10 in the first Gulf War. He flew in the attack on the retreating Iraqi military personnel attempting to leave Kuwait on the "Highway of Death." The photos and scenes from that event that have come out since certainly fit his narrative of the carnage. Flying the length of the convoy, or crossing over it and strafing soldiers that had fled into the desert. Cherry-picking targets at their leisure one at a time with an eye towards maximum damage to man and material. No resistance but small arms fire. He was more concerned about running low on fuel or ammunition and missing out on the last few runs than he was of getting fired upon. Here Is Fiona Hill on "The Daily" today. She says in an interview with Ezra Klein that Putin has shifted from regime change to complete annihilation of Ukraine, it's leaders, cities, and population. He wants nothing more that to punish everyone [13:51] and teach a lesson to anyone that chooses to ignore Russia. This is a long way from over [19:54].
  3. Ever since Waze was sold to Google it's been shit.
  4. Per Belarus, "Anonymous" took credit for doing that by hacking the system over a week ago.
  5. War in Ukraine: Current State and What’s Next with Experts on RU mil Worth the listen. It's a nice summary of events to date.
  6. Might have been going to Beaumont. That was the departure point and where they were loading heavy equipment during the Gulf War Crossing the Houston Ship Channel between East Bay and West Bay recently and we ran the registry number on a large LNG freighter just for grins. Saw that it was heading to Morocco and would arrive exactly two weeks later.
  7. It's time to test the outside of the International Space Station with a couple of cosmonauts.
  8. I had a photographer friend lose the bottom of her face and most of her throat to a sniper in Sarajevo. Margaret Moth She survived, barely. Spent years in Houston freelancing while she had her face reconstructed. Toughest person I've ever met.
  9. I miss Jerry Trupiano and John Breen
  10. Clearly the seagulls were in on it. I wonder if they'll be brought in for questioning.
  11. I'm going "plus" on the weight side, shorter hair, and hopefully at least one visible bruise.
  12. OMG. What if he accepts all five!?
  13. A co-worker of mine from ways back swore that after her parents bought their home from the Lacewells they discovered all sorts of Polaroids in an attic crawl space of Switzer and Mrs. Lacewell. She said that as loyal Sooners her parents burned them.
  14. 186 if you count the stops to feed and water the animals on the roof of the bus.
  15. Milo Hamilton
  16. If he gets hired his damages argument takes a huge hit.
  17. I may have first heard Meat Loaf tell his JFK story on "Opie and Anthony," but it's a great story. I couldn't find that clip but did find video of him telling it to that cunt Mike Huckabee. Spare yourselves and start at 2:16. Meat Loaf - November 23, 1963
  18. I turned down a lateral move to Bristol in the early-90s. I thought I saw the handwriting on the wall with television and was wrapping up law school by the mid-nineties. Not that it matters.
  19. Ron gave me the time, his advice, and career guidance that took me from a weekend intern at KXAN to a full time producer for ABC Sports and ESPN in less than five years. Always enjoyed those occasions when I’’d bump into him in a press box or locker room somewhere. He was a very kind man. RIP.
  20. Correa just hired Scott Boras
  21. February 2nd? Has to be something related to Hogs.
  22. At least Mike McCarthy will get to work from home next year
