  1. Nope; however, maybe I can help you with your reading comprehension “badge.” . I wasn’t at the game. I can only rely on and relay what I was told. Perhaps I should have gone over to the stadium to verify the score, but frankly there wasn’t enough of an interest in doing that.
  2. Does Mt. Vernon have five wins to forfeit? I was passing through there on a Friday night in mid-September with my kid's Scout troop and the Dairy Queen was packed with folks that had bailed on the Canton game because Mt. Vernon was getting curb stomped.
  3. No Friends Left?
  4. FIFY Lincoln Riley wants to cuddle with Louie Anderson
  5. I believe the single greatest take-away from BOB was making ordinary guys like Bill Guarnere, Babe Hefron and Carwood Lipton household names. Lipton was my favorite character on the series, but he died a month after the original run on HBO. Post BOB I would check wildbillguarnere.com every so often looking for opportunities to meet and speak with other Easy Company members, but stopped checking when Guarnere died and the website was eventually taken down. His grandson's website is still up ginoguarnere.com . But, it has only a photo of an elderly Wild Bill and a brief summary of his death.
  6. ...and who has the back problems? No shite. It remains undefeated.
  7. I love that slice back to the right just inside of the post simply for ripping the hearts out of those Steeler fans behind the goal post already celebrating wide-left. Greatness.
  8. Shakey's was on the north side of Westheimer, just east of Hillcroft/Voss. Near where "Club No Minor" is. Antonio's was just south of Westheimer on Hillcroft. We now return to our regularly scheduled programming.
  9. True. The loudest noise was always the squeak that Karl Willock's shoes would make when he would pull up just past midcourt to set the offense. I swear I saw him pull up on a three-on-one fast-break because Kaiser Bob was screaming at him to '"set up! set up!"
  10. At least Charlie never had so many players quit that he had to pull a cheerleader off the sidelines to suit up. The good news was that you could go to a basketball game and literally sit anywhere you wanted to. Those were the days.
  11. Interesting. Someone should have told the punt returner, Jitter Fields, who was standing about 20 yards behind Curry.
  12. I thought they just did that for the Egg Bowl. Which is kind of cool. Hell, if we didn't already have more flair on our jerseys than a Chotskies' waitress I'd vote for a patch for Texas-ou every year. Golden Hat with "ou sucks" below it. Or, is that disrespectful to the rivalry? Need to call Urban.
  13. Yes, because listing a player as "probable" or "doubtful" is an egregious violation of federal law. But, Bilbo's the best.
  14. No shit. I was there. The clarification remains, he was not the punt returner.
  15. Craig Curry was not the punt returner. I believe that was Jitter Fields. Curry was the upback.
  16. They would get a ticker-tape parade.
  17. SIAP, Yankees To Use Piggyback Starters In Playoffs SEP 18, 2019 7:48 AM The New York Yankees have dealt with a short-staffed rotation due to injuries and Aaron Boone plans to use piggyback starters and his key relief pitchers in the postseason. "We're going to be a little untraditional," Boone said. "The only one we might use as a traditional starter is [James] Paxton." The piggybacking method falls in the same family as teams using an "opener" or "bullpenning." https://baseball.realgm.com/wiretap/50868/Yankees-To-Use-Piggyback-Starters-In-Playoffs
  18. I don't think Texas necessarily did either, which is why we've wandered forever between the winds
  19. Yes. He would immediately start signalling for a ground-rule double.
  20. Two words. Deloss Dodds. McWilliams' hire took little or no thought or effort on his part. He was also the man whose "nation wide coaching search" for McWilliams' replacement consisted of a plane ride to Champagne, Illinois. The same man who then flew off to hire Gary Barnett and had to be instructed that he was wasting his time there because the next head coach was meeting with the real decision-makers in Atlanta.
  21. Certainly assures that you're the smartest guy in the room.
  22. Briles was never considered. He lied and said he was to leverage more money out of Baylor. President Powers was doing Mack's bidding, that's correct; however, Powers didn't want there to be any mistake that the Tower was ultimately calling the shots insofar as the football program. He saw Saban as a threat to that scenario. So, it was a win-win for both. Thereafter Patterson ultimately went on a Dodds-esq "nationwide coaching search" and zeroed in on Strong without much consideration for anyone else- just as Deloss did with Mackovic.
  23. Trying to seize the moment. Shake things up.
