  1. No. That was me holding a gun to my head in Dean Treece's office. Where are we on the Aggy recruiting rollercoaster?
  2. RIP El Ced. I remember seeing him for the first time in DKR against The Woodlands. He had a long run down the home sideline that I will never, ever forget. Speed, finessin, and power. This sucks.
  3. Because they were told it means "ass to mouth"
  4. At least it's right-side up
  5. I grew up a die-hard Raider fan as a kid and Cliff Branch will always be one of my favorite players from that era. He could always be counted on to rise to the level of the game. Thank God the Oilers sucked so bad in the early 70s. Also, I never associated Branch with Stickum. I recall that was more of a Lester Hayes and Fred Biletnikoff thing. RIP, 21
  6. I have a baseball signed by Brooks Robinson that I had Cal Ripken, Jr. sign a few years later. Mickey Tettleton was sitting next to Ripken at the autograph table He took it from Ripken and pretended that he was about to sign it as well. He just grinned and handed it back.
  7. Back from Philmont yesterday. 618 Bravo Bravo, 100+ miles altogether. Plenty to discuss and lots of pics. When I get my act together and catch up on emails at work I will post them. Had our own run-in with a bear, but it turned and ran away. From the floor of the valley (Miranda) to the top of Mount Baldy my pedometer says we did 218 floors, and 16.1 miles round-trip last Friday.
  8. F the 150 years of college football nonsense. I want to see the 50-year patch for the 1969 national championship.
  9. 28 I think I'm just going to hold off. Mariposa and the hip belt are $253.38, with is a significant discount; however, no time for shake-outs and my current pack is broken in
  10. Damnit. I've been trying to talk myself out of the Silverback for months now. Been training for Philmont with my Gregory Baltoro all year and with less than two weeks to go, I am again tempted to switch because the gossamer gear packs are so highly regarded.
  11. You can buy a kit at Home Depot or Lowes. Purchase extra grommets because it takes practice to avoid leaving sharp edges or edges that may snag your tent.
  12. My experience with tarps is that they are very stiff and don't pack as easily; however, I do use them when car camping and don't have to tote them around in a pack. I cut them to size and installed grommets on the corners. Though, the first time I did it my stakes were too big for the grommets and I didn't discover it until it was pitch black and pouring rain. duh
  13. that's probably the starter. It's cheap and easy to replace, but I've been reading that it sounds really "crinkly" unless you wash it several times beforehand.
  14. I bought the footprint for my UL3 and it isn't much thicker than the floor of the tent. I was fairly unimpressed. I'm going to add grommets to something a little more durable and see how that works. I did it this time a year ago and it was warm, but not too hot. The ticks are ready and waiting though, so you'll have to take preventive measures and check carefully.
  15. He’s going to kill his brother and apologize to him as he dies because he didn’t get to die the way he wanted to die.
  16. "Wildfire is a flammable liquid which is created and controlled by the Alchemists' Guild, an ancient society of learned men using arcane knowledge and is now based in the city of King's Landing. Wildfire is a highly volatile material; As it ages, the wildfire becomes more potent." Wildfire I recall that when it was first discovered and contemplated in the defense of King's Landing from Stannis Baratheon, part of the discussion was how long it had been there and how volatile it was. They didn't have the recipe in Winterfell and Roy Scheider couldn't drive it there.
  17. I believe the Raiders are more dumb, and the Giants are neck and neck. Neither understands value based drafting or grasps it better than Houston.
  18. Does the Night King need to be Targyaren to ride a dragon? He controls the wight army and should be able to control Viserion as well.
  19. I agree. I don't believe it's a Stark or dead Starks that are the issue within the crypt. Ned said that "a Stark must always be in Winterfell," or something like that. It may be blood magic or a curse. The story-line of the Night King moving South past the Wall and a war with the dead started to pick up steam after Theon attacked Winterfell, and Bran and Rickon were forced to flee. The NK is after something in the Winterfell crypt. So, what is he after, and is he left to chase the survivor's of the Battle of Winterfell to get it or does he get it and use it at King's Landing?
  20. Had a guy in my class in law school getting his degree and license solely for the purpose of fighting to get his psychiatry license back. Loved the negotiating that was going on while Lauren was still out-cold in the dirt. Primarily because it was just so unnecessary on the part of Aurora. Self-inflicted harm due to paranoia is Survivor at its best.
  21. A prisoner serving a life-sentence took the fall on Barrow's behalf, and I believe I read that by agreement Barrow paid a sum to that prisoner's family when he got out. Also, Barrow had previously attempted to get out of hard labor there at Eastham Prison Farm by cutting off two toes on his own foot, or had another prisoner do it for him. Ironically, he was released on parole or was granted a new trial and released from prison less than a week after mutilating himself.
